I'd like to see some pics of what the stairs look like before I get to excited, a few of the older kits I have include stairs and I'm not super crazy about the design

Wow, that "dressing pack" is awesome. Are the barrels from this campaign, too? Seems like folks would do well to get some of those to fill out their huge dungeons from this campaign, or the $7 barrel and crate set from this other kickstarter:

I'll have to skip this one - simply cannot afford the shipping.
Sadly this is where I am as well. $120 for two sets would be awesome, especially with the unlocked bonuses.
$190 for two sets, however, is significantly spicier.
Especially with this ending while I'm already committed to $Macross on the Robotech miniatures campaign. :-(
Damned high quality stuff though, loved the "survival test" vid, and were money no object I'd be in for a simply absurd amount of these.
Yeah the shipping is a killer. I was considering a 5 set pledge with a couple of the add ons, but not when I'd be having to add over %50 of the pledge value as shipping.
yeah I really dont understand the outside the US shipping prices. I've got some DF stuff and unless they have made some extreme changes to the package I cant understand how it costs as much as they are listing. I wonder if this is a byproduct of charging based on being outside the US? Seems to me that a product shipping to our frozen neighbors to the north would cost much less then a product shipping to AU but for the purpose of this KS the cost for AU is the same as CA

Almost all the kickstarters are the same way - as soon as you ask Americans to pay for shipping there is a mass...(scratch that)... numerically limited but vigorous outcry. Really not sure why... since we all know it does actually cost money to mail things to people. So in every major kickstarter US shipping is free - worldwide backers pay.

I would also wager that even though most (all) kickstarters provide free shipping to the US, its not actual free shipping but just that the US based shipping charges are built into the pledge level. Shame more companies cant work out a handy global distribution like secret weapon
Alpharius wrote: I don't know about 'mass outcry' situations - but as you note, it IS a cost and so it has to be factored in - by both sellers and buyers.
I think that's basically it. In the US it costs the same to ship to my house next door as it does to ship to the opposite coast so it's easy to just include the cost in the base price.
That said there has become a certain expectation for free shipping on large orders because it is offered by so many online retailers.
Slinky wrote: This does look like a great deal for US folks, but the shipping is high enough to count me out
I'm essentially in the same boat. $70 shipping for 2 sets is almost as much as the 2 sets themselves!
If the add on rewards were on the one set for international bidders this would make it more appealling.
That being said...
being from Australia... the shipping is probably discounted ;-)
Does anyone know if there are some size/scale comparison shots for these things? I'd like to see how they compare to, say, some common 40k, fantasy, and infinity miniatures (since those are the ones I'm most familiar with the size of.)

They're 1 inch squares, IE 25mm square bases.

I more meant in terms of height of the walls and doors.
Currently we are at 1.6 million with 12 hours to go!
First off, new add-ons!
The 1650k stretch goal!
Free-Standing Walls
If we hit $1,650,000, 2-Set backers and higher receive 2 complimentary Free-Standing Walls for every set they back (e.g. a 5-set Reward Level, you will receive 10 Free-Standing Wall pieces). These two-inch long Wall pieces are great for making quick and unique areas within rooms. These highly useful pieces are a Straight Wall piece without its 2” x 2” base.
Introducing the Chamber of Sorrows Add-On Pack, available in Dungeon Gray or Expertly Hand Painted. More than any other Pack we’re introduced here, the hand painted version is unique.

They stand about an inch and a half from the tiles themselves.

1.65m was blown through, there's a new 1.8m goal for 2 1" walls (used to great effect horizontally and vertically in the preview image).
120k to go in 8 1/2 hours? Very possible depending on how many outstanding folks and last minute updaters there are, but it'll be a climb all the same.
Looks like I might be able to have someone from a US office snag the box and bring it up when it arrives, so I've bitten and am in for 3 unpainted sets. I'd love to go up to 5 or get them painted (~$20 per set is an incredible deal), but I think $175 now and possibly some S&H if I'm feeling impatient when they finally come out is enough to spend on terrain for now.
Had to back out of this one, incredibly disappointing that even though they have a pledge manager planned they aren't allowing folks to change pledge levels during that period. :/
Might be just too much of a logistical challenge, I guess? Amazing how well this did, apparently the whole D&D world is pledging (despite it not getting a ton of traction on Dakka, with the heavier wargames focus here).
