Yep. I've seen some with Kozilek, and most all run planeswalker Karn. Tron can be rough in modern.

So, two new legendary creatures spoiled for M15;

Ob Nixilis, Unshackled

Or basically a giant F-U to anyone running tutors (If standard, any chance Karametra had in becoming a good card next standard just got gakked on.)

And Yisan, the Wanderer Bard (AKA, Birthing Pod on Legs)

What's up with the, "Designed by..." At the bottom?

And they've done a slight redesign as well it seems.

That's just it; rares get that holographic sticker on the bottom, and a new "Designed By" print if anyone in particular handled that card.

That's not to say everyone does, the new Blue Legendary (Polymorph on Legs) still has flavor text.

Can't say I'm a fan. Still think they should just totally switch over to the FutureSight style. Would make reading mana costs so much easier.

Only card that looks even remotely useful in legacy is waste not, and it'd replace nether spirit in pox.

I haz questions:

1.If skirk commando is turned face up, does quest for goblin lord trigger?

2. Can creatures with morphs be put into play facedown? Eg.
if I turn root elemental face up can I put towering baloth into play face down?

3. Can use counterspell to counter itself?
eg. I cast something,
opponent uses counterspell,
I turn willbender face up and target counterspell with the same counterspell.

Every time I hear "in my opinion" or "just my opinion" makes me want to strangle a puppy. People use their opinions as a shield that other poeple can't critisize and that is bs.

If you can't defend or won't defend your opinion then that "opinion" is bs. Stop trying to tip-toe and defend what you believe in.

1. No, it was already in play.
2. No, as morph is an alternate way to cast the spell, not play it.
3. No, it must counter a spell other than itself.

And Nissa, Worldwaker is a sexy, sexy beast.

Also, new Jace art;

Stopped reading right there. Nissa is almost a free spell. Neat. Ajani seems decent.

I was thinking of getting grenzo for my wort edh deck but currently I don't have that many scry effects in my deck (only 2 i think)

I've been looking at heroes podium as a potential candidate because I already have 5 legendary creatures. The problem with podioum is that it costs 5 mana and I'm already quite low on lands (only like 33-35) with no mana accelerators. I do have goblin welder though.

So I've recently discovered Red's Furnace of Rath like abilities in EDH.

Needless to say, a couple of those make the game pretty ridiculous.

I got a few of them for my Jund deck. I find that the trick is to use them at the right moment or otherwise it bites me in the ass.

okay so I'm just getting back into magic and have a few questions, one where do you guys keep finding out about the story? I use to buy fat packs mainly for the book but they no longer have them, wheres a guy to get his fluff on?
What do you guys think of a
grim guardian
master of the feast
fate unraveler
deck, for standard, once it leaves standard id add sticks/darkness for stall and underworld for more damage

are you going to keep talking about it, or do something already?

I typically just hear about the fluff from other people, don't really go looking for it.

As for Cards, I look here:

http://www.mythicspoiler.com/

You could definitely win that way, but the curve is rather high; MoF and GG are both 3 mana each, which means you aren't doing much to actually try to win in the first couple of turns.

If your goal is to kill em with card draw, I would totally splash blue for Dictate of Kruphix. If you want more of a Constellation theme, I would go for B/W with Pacifism, Underworld Coinsmith, Grim Guardian, and similar.

I believe they still sell books, but you have to order them online or get lucky with a bookstore. I know for Shards of Alara they had a "Planar Guide" that detailed the setting and other neat little things. Not sure if they still do that or not.

Dunno about elsewhere, but my local B&N has them in the fiction section right next to Warhammer, 40k, and Star Wars books.

So for those participating in pre-release this weekend, what colors are you all playing?

I'm currently signed up for green, but I'm thinking of switching to white or blue, neither are full at my flgs. Black is full though so that's not an option.

Well bad news about tonight is that I went 2-3 in all five rounds. Good news is that I pulled Garruk, Urborg, and Liliana.

I went to two prereleases, chose black at the first and red at the second.

Pulled an extra Tormentor in the black box and went blue black winning the tournament 3-0

In the red pulled two Soul of Shandilar, Hoarding Dragon and a pile of good little cards, came third 3-1

Not bad for my first games since Time Spiral

Just so everyone knows, there will be another product for Commander out this year.

If this is another Commander's Arsenal or more Precons isn't stated yet.

Limited releases like the Commander's Arsenal are pretty annoying. They always get heavily marked up by retailers and become unaffordable.

I did an Odyssey block draft last night, I went mono black and was fortunate to pulla Cabal Coffers and and Ichorid. That was ok, and the Coffers will be going into a commander deck I'm sure.

We got big into Elder Dragon Highlander/Commander and it was fun for awhile actually until Wizard's put out the pre-built commander decks.

Had a pretty fun deck that stole creatures from everyone and they make that common land that just destroys the entire deck. Derp - ok I guess they really don't like Control Magic. :p
