Title says it all. How are you guys dealing with WYSIWYG when using Codex Chaos Chart... err I mean Daemon.

considering the random rolls every game for wargear and that so many different models can take any of 3 levels of wargear any complaining about WYSIWYG with the current codex can make you look like a twit.

So I make sure I write down on my list what I roll and expect any daemon opponent's I have to do something similar.

Really the only wargear I ever take on a DP, other than wings and armour, is the Black Mace, Burning Brand, or Axe of Blind Fury, and since the people I game with are pretty cool, it's never been an issue that I don't have a mace o n my DP, or a tiny, space marine sized flamer.

40k Armies:
Alaitoc 9300 points
Chaos 15000 points
Speed Freeks 3850 points

WHFB Armies:
Lizardmen 1000 points

Wrong codex my friend!

The only Gifts I make sure to model are the odd few weapons I will almost always take on specific models. (ie: Lord of Change w/bangstick or Bloodreaper w/Axe of Khorne, etc...)
I simply leave space on my army list now to write down whatever Gifts & Psychic powers get rolled up.

Anyone who complains about the new Daemons not being 100% WYSIWYG is simply being an obtuse donkeycave and is likely not someone I'd even want to play a game with to begin with.

Gift's, are impossible to do WYSIWYG, because you don't know what you can get. Only real exception, is the portalglyph, which you can model.

Everything else, however, is fair game. Thing's like banner-bearers, musicians, unit sarge's, can all be WYSIWYG. But randomly rolled weapons? Nope.

Thanks for the responses, I should have been more specific though. My group of friends that I play with have no problems with the randomness and models not exactly showing whats what. I was more concerned with Tournament standard.

Will my Daemonette Alluress' giant claw hands count as a Etherblade or Greater Etherblade for example? If I model an Alluress with a sword arm from a dark elf or something similar will it count as a shooting attack or whatever else the roll gives me instead of the sword if i choose to take it rather than the sword?

Its fine to choose not to play a player who is being picky about wysiwyg when in a casual setting, but if a player in a tournament calls you on it how strict are the officials going to be? Rule in favor of the Daemons since they do not really know what their army is bringing to the table until its on the table, Or rule against the daemons player saying you should have a model available depicting the gifts (model-able ones anyway) you COULD have received.

Waiting for my shill money from Spiral Arm Studios

Is any description ever given for any of the random weapons?

Remember that in Fantasy if a magic weapon is called the "Axe of blabla" it can also be represented by a "Sword of blabla"

So all you would really be required to do if you have one of the random weapons is to make sure your guy has a suitably elaborate weapon of some kind.

Self-proclaimed evil Cat-person. Dues Ex Felines

Cato Sicarius, after force feeding Captain Ventris a copy of the Codex Astartes for having the audacity to play Deathwatch, chokes to death on his own D-baggery after finding Calgar assembling his new Eldar army.

Fluff descriptions are all that is provided.
example: Lash of Despair - "These whips move with impossible speed.... blablabla"

Slaanesh has whips and swords
Nurgle has swords and flails
khorne has swords axes and whips
Tzeench has sword and staff.

Remember that in Fantasy if a magic weapon is called the "Axe of blabla" it can also be represented by a "Sword of blabla"

so can a "Staff of change" (2h staff) be represented by a "Sword of Change" (1h sword) then?

You can't make sure everything is modeled properly.

Tell your opponent why and if they can't deal with it? Feth em.

I don't worry about it. Just equip them how you want.

It is not a big deal. Trust me.

If a TO holds the random nature of our army against you and tries to say, "you must have 'X/Y' options modeled or else you can't take them" then they're being nothing but a giant donkeycave.
An Etherblade for example could easily be a giant claw-arm on a Slaaneshii model or a fancy-looking halberd on a Khornate model, while a Tzeentchian Staff of Change could easily be a giant mace/hammer/burny-looking stick.etc...

If it were me and a TO tried to pull that kind of crap, I'd simply pack-up and demand a refund on my entry fee since I'm not being allowed to properly use my army.
Same deal for any TO who tries to ban the Warpstorm Table from their event... That'd be like telling Dark Eldar they aren't allowed to use their Pain Tokens, or removing the FnP bubbles from Sanguinary Priests in a BA army!
