Thanks Evilcheese, I'm pretty happy with the Hammer Knight, I suspect he will be a tricky model for me to paint !

Love those guys. The bluish and greenish greys really work fantastically well together. Those are really interesting models, are they standard or something you cooked up yourself?

Hey Gits ! They have come out quite well, reasonably happy so far !
They are a fairly simple kit bash : heads - kromlech.
Legs and backpacks - Anvil Industries.
Bodies - GW Cadian with some greenstuff to cover the cloth and look more like armour.
Arms / weapons- GW storm troopers .

The hard part is getting the arms to line up as the Cadian body must be a bit narrower than the storm trooper torso. I only had the arms so had to improvise. I also put some plastic card between the legs and torsos as they looked too short in the bodies without it.

Thanks for looking in mate !

Love these guys especially the fact that you didn't go for the usual rotten flesh approach but rather reflected the connection via colour scheme.

Nice combo of parts as well good job mate

Thanks dude, I don't have too many full on zombies just yet, in my fluff they are not yet fully turned, but not sure what the fack they are. I'm imagining a turned to Nurgle imperial stores guy poisoned a huge amount of respirators with nurgles rot or something and now this once loyal Guard regiment are slowly descending into paranoia, crazyness and Zombiedom by breathing it directly into there lungs thru fear of removing there respirators.

Tonight work, pretty much finished these dudes, I had some dramas with the varnish removing all the really good looking powders I applied on the heat damaged metal exhausts on the backpacks and weapon and now it's not so good as it was. Also not too happy with the red lenses , need more depth really , but they will do for now .

Love the icon bearer. That vehicle looks very appropriate for them... though it needs to be chewed on a bit to look the part.

Convert that into some bad ass ride and maybe add some kind of gas tanks to the side as if it's pumping out gas as it progresses, maybe something along the lines of this could work.

Glad to help mate three on a whim no that was forward thinking just a thought you could also add a trooper in the open back section getting his pack refilled with the gas, like a mobile nurgle refuelling vehicle.

The basilisk does look like it has taken a beating for sure, but it is war after all and will you be adding a rust wash to it maybe to dirty the paint work up a little ?
Maybe add some rust runs around some bolts and raised sections, plus reflects the nurgle decay theme a bit more.

Those walkers fit the nazi theme perfectly, will you be 40King them up any ?

Again, another cracking idea mate ! I think one of the Hanomag variants was a flamethrower vehicle so some big nurgle gas tanks and a couple of heavy flames might be easily do-able !

Oh yeah, I'm gonna weather the feth out of it , or it'll not fit with my over over the top rusting !

I'm not sure about the walkers , they are super little models in there own right , I might put a crew member in an open hatch or something like that tho.
What do you people in Dakkaland think ?

Today was an easy work from home day, manage to get the Basilisk up to the point where it gets the oils.

It really has had a bashing, I like the fact that the metal actually looks distorted and bent out of shap now for the rust wash.

As for the walkers maybe some damaged sections with added patch work, maybe a nurgle icon here and there would be cool.

Maybe adding some sentinel exhausts to help tie in the 40k styling also some stowage maybe coms pack that kind of thing, have you considered adding some extra armour to the leg sections to beef them up a little ?

Can I ask where is the standard bearers standard from ?

Yeah it has ! And the rust / grime wash hasn't improved its looks any !!!

I heated up the plastic with a blue flame lighter and a screw driver to create all the dents and shell strikes before I started the paint.

I think some Nurgle icons and maybe exhausts would be ideal for the walkers. The big chunky dumb ass 40k weapons and stuff really wouldn't suit the DUST stuff in my opinion, they look too good to my eye.

The icon bearer's arms and banner pole are from the GW stormtroopers kit, I clipped the flag off along the line of the pole so it was left full length , the Nurgle icon was from eBay, search "nurgle icon" , that's all I know about that bit !

So I did get a bit of oil paint on the Basilisk, one of the things I really like about oils is this palette has had paint in it about 10 days and it's still good to go with some thinners, can't do that with acrylic ! plus I think it's shades way better that acrylic washes/ tints.

Anyhow, enjoy and let's hear some comments on the direction these traitor guard are going !
