Good to see Little H making strides!

Little H and I did a fair bit over the weekend. He pretty much finished the first batch of SoH space marines and we assembled some others from spares, bits and a whole load of recycled bits that his brother butchered over 10 years ago.

I am doing the airbrush work and Little H is doing the details. He has found painting frustrating in the past so a bit of help in the beginning is helping him finish stuff

Oh and he also used a few bits to make a Ragnar Blackmane and a Lukas the Trickster. I helped with some greenstuff on the hair etc.

Well , Little H is still slogging through masses of gold trim, I decided to glue some of the bits I'd been hoarding to make an inquisitor and warband, made some progress on what I'm calling "stormtroopers" . The next few infantry will be based more on empire / cadian/ genestealer cult bits.

I really like how the guy with the sword turned out. I'm thinking the actual Inquisator model in metal could use some more height however, not to mention an arm !

Awesome work on the 'Storm Troopers' , such great use of kits to create some really interesting minis.

Very good work Big H. Those should be fun to paint.

Dude awesome! the guy with the plumed helmet is really great! and yes the other guy could use some more height and an arm, then he'll be sweet :-) what scheme are you painting them?

Thanks for the kind words fellas ! I'm thinking of a grey armour with maybe some dark red stripes on the shoulder pads and the odd bit here and there. Maybe a little. It of white somewhere and copper for the rivets /details.
They will be the most unified as they all had the same armour , for the remainder of the warband I want to make each one as individual as I can.

Those troopers look awesome!! real high level of detail and nice aesthetic!

IMHO.... a strong colour scheme would perhaps work well? Fairly bright colours and metalics.... these guys look like they are proud to be on the battlefield... and almost remind me of a GrimDark Napoleonic type of thing.... lol...

sorry for the waffle... just my thoughts... but they do look REALLY good!

Hey Magos ! Thanks for stopping by ! Do you recognise the "stormtroopers" ? You sent them to me in that box of bits ! I stripped them of paint and re-used the legs and torsos !
Thanks as well for the paint idea. I'm a bit reluctant to go full bright. Maybe some colourful element on grey armour?

Thoughts any one ?

Ah ha....... now you mention it!! lol.... Glad to see they went to a good home and are proving useful!

I think a colourful "flourish" would work well.... the plumes of the helmets... capes.... sholder armour icons etc..... but do agree that the actual armour itself would look cool in grey!

Looking forward to seeing the results...

Anyhow, 2 dreadnoughts and a drop pod done last night, me on the airbrush and Little H doing the rest !

Looks fantastic! Wow! Little H is really getting into the swing of things. Weathering and battle damage really does the trick. Well done, well done indeed.

Thanks nerdy ! I'm trying to simplify my processes to still look ok but be much quicker. Before I would have shaded everywhere but with the help of my new airbrush it's now much easier to fade colours then edge and chip areas of light with dark and dark with light, if you see what I mean !
I maybe ought to show the airbrush as a mini review or something. It is a Chinese £15 copy of a £150 airbrush and I really wasn't sure it would work, but from my limited use so far it's been great , certainly for the level that I want to use it at.

Hi Gits! I don't want to play down the work little H has been doing because his output lately has been incredible, but I'm doing the majority of the chipping etc. He is doing the bronze banding, weapons etc. But his patience is growing and he's done a bit of clever stuff.
I didn't realise when we first started how hard it was for him to break it down into "processes" so now we discuss each troop type first , work out the painting list , e.g. Once the base colour is on next all the black, then the silver then the bronze.etc etc. And he's finding it a bit easier.

Very nice love the tanks! Brush does make the stripes more distinct on the minis, losing the blur / fade

Hi Doc ! Thanks for dropping by ! Yeah the sled of doom is properly 40k ridiculous and not even in a good way , but I expect we can weather and chip it somewhat !

Whilst Little H was filling in details, I had a play with some parts for an inquisitor warband , happy !
