im going to play against such powerful GK Paladin Deathstar list with standard D.Lord&Wraith Necron Deeathstar list, my list consist of 2xdlord mss ws, 3xwraiths with some coils 4x5 nw 3xbarges

HQ1: Grand Master - WARLORD (Halberd, Incinerator, Blind Grenades, Rad Grenades, Psychotroke grenades, Servo Skull) [225 pts]
HQ2: Torquemada Coteaz [100 pts]
Elite 1: Paladin Squad (8 strong, psycannon+hummer, psycannon with halberd, Brotherhood Banner, 2 hummer, 1 sword, 2 halberds, Psybolt ammunition) [525 Pts]
Troop 1: Inquisitorial Henchmen (3 warrior acolyte; dedicated transport 1) [12 pts]
Troop 2: Inquisitorial Henchmen (3 warrior acolyte; dedicated transport 2) [12 pts]
Troop 3: Inquisitorial Henchmen (3 warrior acolyte; dedicated transport 3) [12 pts]
Troop 4: Inquisitorial Henchmen (3 warrior acolyte; dedicated transport 4) [12 pts] HS1: Nemesis Dreadknight (heavy incinerator) [160 pts]
HS2: Nemesis Dreadknight (heavy incinerator) [160 pts]
HS3: Nemesis Dreadknight [130 pts] Fast 1: Interceptor squad (10 strong, 2 psycannon, psybolt ammunition) [300 Pts]
Transport1: Razorback (psybolt ammunition; searchlight; TROOPS1) [51 pts]
Transport2: Razorback (psybolt ammunition; searchlight; TROOPS2) [51 pts]
Transport3: Razorback (psybolt ammunition; TROOPS3) [50 pts]
Transport4: Razorback (psybolt ammunition; TROOPS4) [50 pts]
TOTAL [1850 pts]

whats the best way to beat it? I think its good option to avoid deathstar rather than trying to assault it (Psychotroke ) or shot with tesla and in turn attack everything else, deathstar gonna deep strike and then go on foot so it shouldnt be so hard to escape from them with mobile barges and jump wraiths

im mainly interested in how i could play most effectively with my list (from which I own all models) to win, rather than getting ideas of new lists with models I dont own

in other words I would like to know whats the best way to play wraithwing against such paladin list, attack deathstar with all wraiths and teslas? or try to avoid it?

Use your mobility to win. Consider deep striking wraiths to pull his army into different directions.

so he has 4 units of 3 men in transports. Kill the transports, kill the men, then he cannot score. Try to get first blood killing a razorback while denying him first blood. Then protect your warlord and make sure you get line breaker.
Without Draigo, pallys are not troops and basically 2 psycannons and some storm bolters walking around. With the grandmaster he is going to be putting 750 points into that.

It's a tough matchup for the Crons, especially because your opponent's list is, IMO, not optimized fully. Your mobility should make it quite easy to win, just stick to the mission and mitigate the damage the Paladins can do.

If you were to drop a DLord you could get a squad of Deathmarks with a Harbinger of Despair in there. Drop it down and flame the Paladins to high hell and that should at least put a bit of cripple on the unit.

Otherwise, just play the speed game. You have a more maneuverable army... just don't get caught up and play the objectives.

Wrong. This is how you lose vs. Paladins lol. You just have to outmaneuver them. The more you focus on them, the more you give in to your opponent's gameplan.

That's terrible, they aren't Fearless.

As for what can beat them, Wraiths can beat anything in assault.

"'players must agree how they are going to select their armies, and if any restrictions apply to the number and type of models they can use."

This is an actual rule in the actual rulebook. Quit whining about how you can imagine someone's army touching you in a bad place and play by the actual rules.

Deep striking is quite interesting option, I have never thought of this option, it could be useful against very heavy infantry shooting lists, here would be only 3 barges on a board but opponent dont have dat many anti-vehicle shooting to put it down, deep striked wraiths cause chaos and kill whatever they need.

Killing troops and anything needed excluding deathstar is very good way to deal with it. Pallys can still score via Grand Strategy, but I can outscore them with scythes.

Guns aint good solution, it will be waste of dakka, paladins are too tough to kill them with teslas. Guns should deal with razors and troops, wraiths it depends but I have to escape from deathstar.

Im thinking if assaulting deathstar with each wraiths squad is good way to kill it, wraiths are though but Psychotroke granades and rad granades can be painful. Maybe its better to avoid them as effective as possible.

Avoid the deathstar. They will make mincemeat of your Wraiths. Use the Wraiths to dominate the other parts of the GK army.

I'm giving you this advice as an ex- Paladin player. In fact, during the later rounds of NOVA last year I faced a very similar Cron army, it had 3 Barges, 3 Scythes, 18 Wraiths. The opponent used his mobility to split my army and avoided the Paladins. This made for a very, very tough game for the Paladins.

Beating Paladins is all about utilizing the movement phase and taking out the support options, in fact I'd say that holds true vs. just about any deathstar. Never let him multi-assault!

/thread. Run circles around the paladins and stay out of their death bubble. Contrary to popular belief wraith stars do NOT beat paladins in assault. Every wound is almost a guaranteed dead wraith/DLord.

Kill everything else inthe army and laugh.

3 Doom scythes pretty much solves the problem.

If hard pressed, you can also toss a 2+ save lord with MSS into melee with them and laugh.

Just want to add that the list you posted is in no way the worst of the pala star setups. I've got some real bastards at my FLGS.

Personally, I'd try to go 2 Doomscythes and a Doomsday Ark. 2 S10 lines of death alongside a S9 pieplate will cut up his army pretty good, and the Doomsday ark can blow a sizeable portion of his paladins to kingdom come as it'll ignore their armor and won't give two feths about their 2 wounds.

He's asking for advice for the list he has, and you keep throwing all these pie in the sky solutions (pie plate from the sky?)

Are the warriors foot slogging? Feels like something's missing from the list.

It's a simple case of avoid the Paladinstar and kill the support units.

Wraiths are ok in cc but weak against force weapons, but you already know that. You have greater mobility so try to split his army. Don't be afraid to sacrifice a squad or two to the Pallystar.

He has nightscythes, how hard would it be to make em into doomscythes?

The 2hq and squad=850. Ignore them

target priority should be interceptors first, then psybacks. once they are dead make it a shooting game.

his gm will probably make the pallies and dk scoring units. still going to be a tough game. Justdon't get suckered into having 400 points of wraiths cc 850 points of pallies and hq

Chaos isn’t a pit. Chaos is a ladder. Many who try to climb it fail, and never get to try again. The fall breaks them. And some are given a chance to climb, but refuse. They cling to the realm, or love, or the gods…illusions. Only the ladder is real. The climb is all there is, but they’ll never know this. Not until it’s too late.
