Either the

Light Biker Squadron

or

Heavy Bike Squadron
http://puppetswar.com/product.php?id_product=205

I really want to get a biker army started and these seem like a good place to start. What do you think? Which would be better. I am looking to do either White Scars, or Raven Wing.

Also looking for ideas for attack bikes, and land speeders.

Exactly what I was thinking

But what should I do about attack bikes? And the land speeders. Any ideas?

The heavy bike looks quite like the recent Forge World bikes.

Personally, I think the Games Workshop bikes look better than either of the Puppetswar bikes. The light bikers are too sleek, and don't fit the bulky image of the Space Marines. (They play more to the bulky Harley sort of biker theme than to the slender Ninja biker idea.) The heavy bikers are too unfinished. They have a very similar profile to the Games Workshop models, just without most of the detail work. The excessive detailing is part of what makes the Space Marines fit the Gothic design element of the Imperium. I'd go with regular ol' bikes, myself. If they are too expensive, I would just keep my eyes peeled on eBay.

Sorry to be the turd in the punchbowl, but I really am trying to be helpful, and didn't want to lie to you. If you absolutely have your heart set on buying from Puppetswar, then I vote for the heavy bikers. You can always gussy them up with extra gubbins to make them look more like they belong in the Imperium.

I do actually like space marine bikes but 1 at a time at $15 a piece seems ridiculous. Also I really don't have much money and this would be easier

I think the Dark Angel's battle force uses the standard bikers, not the new DA specific ones for the DV set.

All the iconography is on the extra sprue (IIRC) so these guys can be dropped into any marine FA slot. And cheeper then buying individual bikes.

On the Puppetwar side, I think the scout/regular for the light/heavy is the way to go. Not bad looking at all.

I agree with you. I just think that having to buy 2 battleforces to get the resemblance of a 750 point army. That being said I'm not sure about how Gothic and space marine like the puppets war bikes look.

They do look a little sleek and futuristic. I'm not sure what some bits and a weathered paint job would do, they'd probably be fine. I'd be interested in seeing some painted up to see how they fit.

My rough math puts the DA battleforce at around 300 points, for $110. The normal C:SM battleforce is closer to 500 points, for only $15 more. And these are one of the few places that GW offers a discount. One huge diference is that the C:SM force has some stuff of marginal use (assault marines, bolter scouts, 5 man combat squad) while the DA force is 100% useful.

We all know this is an expensive hobby. If you look at how much it costs to buy (NIB) your average 1,500 point list, you get some ugly numbers. The puppetwar bikes looks to be $10 each, vs. the $15 for GW. That ain't nothing. But if you buy the DA battle force, you get 6 bikes ($90) a speeder ($30) and a attack bike ($27) If you were going to buy the attack bikes and speeders anyway, the price you pay for the bikes gets a lot closer. And everything matches.

Food for thought. At the end of the day buy what you think looks cool that you can afford.
