You can only build and rebuild these, if you don't paint them. And then they may look as Lego.
This campaign is only at its start. Once it will get 30,000$ like Maki or 680,000$ like Mantic, there will certainly be more options. It is a small business right now after all.
Which is fine.
If I wanted to do a nicely painted Infinity Diorama for a painting competition, I'd probably go with Escenorama.
If I want some terrain that I can shove into some box or backpack to take over to a friends house or even a FLGS, assemble on the fly - gothic side out or industrial side out - I'd probably take something like Maki. I wouldn't even have to care if somebody sits on it or steps on it.
Get yourself a $50.- / € 30,- Escenorama building and do this!
All I am saying is that they are different products, setting different priorities.
Maki's themes are serviceable. I am not saying they are the greatest-looking Terrain Pieces ever made, but that isn't their priority. Their entire goal of the Kickstarter is to make something robust that can stand up to heavy-duty gaming, Seven-Up spills and house-cats knocking your stuff off the gaming table.

Some news:
1.) Currently, every backer will get 6 boxes as shown above for free. With the next strech goal of 5000, every backer will get one free control panel, if it reaches 7000 $ then 10 free streetlights will be added for all backers. Two streetlights are also added to the catwalk section perk.
2.) Also, the main stretch goals have been rearranged and are now lower. They changed from:
GROUP 1
3.000 € MINITARGET "A" SCENERY "SCI FI INDUSTRIAL"
7.000 € MINITARGET "B" SCENERY "HIGH TECHNOLOGY AND MANGA"
12.000 € MINITARGET "C" SCENERY "ROOMS, CORRIDORS AND MISCELLANEOUS FOR HUMANS AND ALIENS (BOARD GAMES) "
GROUP 2
18.000 €- MINITARGET "D" SCENERY "URBAN NEAR FUTURE"
24.000 €-MINITARGET "E" SCENERY "NO HUMAN CIVILIZATION"
35.000 €- MINITARGET "F" SCENERY "STEAMPUNK"
to
GROUP 1
3.000 € MINITARGET "A" SCENERY "SCI FI INDUSTRIAL" (REACHED!)
5.000 € MINITARGET "B" SCENERY "HIGH TECHNOLOGY AND MANGA"
7.000 € MINITARGET "C" SCENERY "URBAN NEAR FUTURE
GROUP 2
9.000 €- "MINITARGET "D" SCENERY "ROOMS, CORRIDORS AND MISCELLANEOUS FOR HUMANS AND ALIENS (BOARD GAMES) "
12.000 €-MINITARGET "E" SCENERY "NO HUMAN CIVILIZATION"
15.000 €- MINITARGET "F" SCENERY "STEAMPUNK"
They are quite excited about their High Tech design models and will show a preview soon. That's why they lowered the strech goal for them and everything else. I will keep you updated.
3.) For these two perks, you can also add the option to get them painted to the quality as shown in the pic:

Where does it show the quantity of added street lights and which pledge they are added to?
The street lights look awesome and some of the other bits would be perfect to round out my, as of right now completely theoretical, entirely Kickstarter based Infinity terrain collection.

Oops, made a small mistake.
Currently only boxes are free for all backers. The control panel will be added for free, if the campaign reaches 5000$, the 10 streetlights will be added free for all backers, if the campaign reaches 7000$. Will change that in the above post.
BTW here the (big) graph showing that it will be 10 streetlights:

I can't help to feel a bit stupid but could you guys explain how this campaig works?
If, for example, I buy a terraforming station at €30. Does that mean I get the station, plus a bunch of barrels and such. and they will ship it for free. And as thy've reached their €3000 goal I get a bunch of boxes too?
What happens when they reach the next goal, do they send that fancy holoprojector to everyone who've bought so far, or is that only for those placing new orders?
Also, how do I contribute? By buying their stuff or by donating?
As I said, I feel a bit stupid, but it's a lousy page and the dual language confuses me
Other than that i must say that the terrain is realy nice and i'd very much like to get a bunch of their stuff!

Yep, that's how it is. You get the bundle on the pic plus the boxes currently. The pic confirms, postage is included.
Enigma wrote:What happens when they reach the next goal, do they send that fancy holoprojector to everyone who've bought so far, or is that only for those placing new orders?

If the end total of the campaign is above 5,000 $, you will also get the holoprojector in your package for free. For that reason, all packages will be send after the campaign has ended.
For contributing, just follow the instructions after the Contribute button. Big difference to Kickstarter is that you pay immediately, not after the end of the campaign. So if you want more, you have to pay the difference again.
And yes, Indiegogo is a bit awkward in relation to Kickstarter, but only (?) Raging Heroes dared to get through all the bureaucracy for non-US- UK companies to comply with Kickstarter requirements, and it took them 2 months of work.
Also keep in mind that this is a very small business and English is not their native language.

Can someone make a brief posting on why Indiegogo would make you want to not pledge on a campaign? I've only used Kickstarter so I'm not getting what you guys are saying, I presumed they were more or less the same thing, except IGG has flexible funding (which I thought people liked?). A PM is fine if you don't want to go offtopic.

Indiegogo takes the money up front, right away.
If it doesn't fund (and many use 'flexible funding' so most will fund) you get your money back.
Not sure how it works if you want to change your pledge level down mid-campaign either.

Alpharius wrote:Not sure how it works if you want to change your pledge level down mid-campaign either.
With flexible funding campaigns if you want to remove or lower your pledge you need to actually contact the campaign owner and ask for a refund, and if i remember correctly they aren't obligated to give you a refund so you're SOL if they refuse. (The last IGG campaign i backed was 6 months ago though, and their TOS concerning refunds may have possibly changed within that time frame.)
IndieGogo also has nowhere near the amount of active backers as Kickstarter, to the point where only a small handful of miniature based IGG campaigns (5 by my count.) have actually managed to go above $50,000.
