It's actually still alive to somewhat of a degree.

I myself purchase the miniatures off Ebay, and I make them as a display army.

We are not dead yet... Just with almost nothing new for epic painted. To bo honest, both me and my bro are slightly burned out... We both want to paint more but... seeing all those non commercially available Horus Heresy era epic models make us really, really jelous...
