I like your videos in general. Like to hear Daves banter and really like the Beat Matt Batrep style (so much so that I use similar the style to my own videos though skipping dice rolling). Only issue that I have is that I don't much like 40k anymore, 28mm is really only workable with skirmish games. Thus I'm not a vault member.

That all said I would love to see you all do non 40k and WHFB batreps. So in that sense Go Infinity. If you start doing 6mm scale stuff, I might get vault membership .

Great work and hope it continues.

I really enjoy the battle reports (apart from the banter batreps - too long for me).

I actually would like to see more gaming systems. Your war machine ones, along with wargamer girl's stuff have got me into war machine. I'd love to see some infinity, malifaux, dust, necromunda, etc etc. in short, the more game systems you show, the more vids I'll watch!

I suspect I'll eventually become a vault member with the money i keep irrationally wasting on white dwarf. Keep up the good work!

MWG's video batreps are the only ones on youtube I can bear to watch for more than a few minutes, and without skipping portions every 30 seconds out of pure boredom. The commentary is well spoken, clear and concise, good views of the board and the run down of each turn is delivered in a way that doesn't bore you to death. I notice you do make quite a few rules mistakes but I'm not so bothered by it.

In future maybe a form of narrative video batrep would be good using custom rules and scenarios, or a series based on a campaign.

I'm not going to lie, I pretty much only ever watch your battle reports (and occasionally the "Sit N Talk"s) but I love them.

I would love to see you cover more games.

Just to make this clear, I'm a big fan of you guys. That said... I have somethings to say.

Shake up the terrain you use. I'm a terrain guy and it gets kind of boring to see the "Sparse Forest with some buildings" set up everytime. Maybe some cityscapes, deserts or snow fields would help. Your boards are excellent, don't get me wrong, but variety would be nice.

Rules. Learn them, please. I know it's human to make mistakes but certain members really need to get the rules down.

Moar army variety please. I know you guys can't really control this and I don't blame you but I wish I would see more armies. Your Warmachine batreps are bad for this (Though, admittedly, the gameplay of Warmachine makes up for it).

Maybe have something about the happenings in the industry? Talk about the latest legal shenanigans Gee-Dubs has gotten into, new releases and the like. The few videos you guys did (An Open Letter to Games Workshop, for example) were very interesting to watch.

Joey is awsome.

I like her style.

Those mutts at Bluetable, I do without and ignore. I don't like the cut of thier jib.

You have done a great job with the material that you have access and a hand in, and the quantity and quality are pure gold.

Your terraign guy has an attitude, but the shows are bearable. Matthew is an even keel kind of guy that brings your ego stock into perspective, and the overall impression I have is that you have a top notch outfit there, and other then getting a serious Cable program, you really are doing great.

All in asll, your positives outdo anything negative I've seen. Like the shows, and they are a great addition to any modeling and painting.

At Games Workshop, we believe that how you behave does matter. We believe this so strongly that we have written it down in the Games Workshop Book. There is a section in the book where we talk about the values we expect all staff to demonstrate in their working lives. These values are Lawyers, Guns and Money.

I'm in the same arena as an earlier poster. I am a vault member but have seriously been considering cancelling. Mainly because well over 50% of the content is Batreps and that just really isn't my gig. I prefer the videos discussing army builds, tactics, and model collecting and mainly the painting videos.

I support a 'Hobbyist' level subscription.

Otherwise you guys are great for the community and I love what you do overall!

I signed up for the vault when it launched and cancelled soon after because it was mostly 40k and I wasn't into 40k at the time. On the surface it appears that you've diversified more, but I'm still not into many of the games you're covering. To be honest, the only thing that would tempt me to resubscribe would be a lot (very frequent) of high quality painting videos.

The main complaint that I would have, would be learn the rules. I know some players might know them a little better than others but you might guess who the main perpetrator is.

In other words, you need to stand behind Miniwargaming Dave with a paintball gun and everytime he gets a rule wrong, he gets shot. It's the only way. Oh and if he gets all the rules right, he gets chocolate. And NO CHEATING.

As for playing infinity... I think by all means you should have batreps from different systems. I mostly like watching 40k batreps, thank you so much for making them.

Ok I will throw out some thoughts.

Access to Physical MWG
- This is minor because I am actually close enough to go to the physical location. For 3 years my days off were Sunday Monday, and those were the days you were closed, So I never set foot in the physical store. This may not matter with the store closing but if you choose to keep the local gaming club open, hours of operation can create a barrier.

Videos

Timeliness
- I understand that videos are posted first to the MWG vault, and pushed to Youtube later to attract vault traffic. sometimes however its pointless to release a video at a later time to youtube. the best example of this is a rules sit and talk. When originally released it was relavent, but in the waiting period for youtube release an FAQ gets released, covering some or all of the debate and clarifying it.

Variety (this covers a few things)

Variety of games - more is better. I currently play 40k and dont play warmachine, so when you post warmachine videos, you get zero views from me, but if you post a new or niche game video I may watch it.

Variety of Staff - With the above statement I give a word of caution. Get people that are seriously jazzed about the games being played. I dont want to watch a game when one opponent seems to be half heartedly interested. Also this may or may not be doable, but you may want to keep staff limited to a small pool of games so they dont spread themselves too thin or burn out. It would also help to create a better understanding of the ruleset they are running.

Variety of terrain - You have a number of very static tables that actually make me just click off a video. Why? because you have a similar rotation of armies and seeing a rematch on the same table sometimes wont hold my interest. have at least 2 completely modular tables, as in a flat, lightly sculpted and flocked surface. have themed sets of terrain for said table, jungle, mountains, ruins, city, factory etc. The terrain is just as big of a draw to watching a batrep as the armies or the players. Look at Blue table painting batreps, amazing terrain that is not only visual candy, but it inspires people to make good terrain.

Instructional videos - Please do not fall into the youtube instructional video trap. If the video is watching someone paint, with music on loop and occasionally popping a paint color name on the screen, its trash. It teaches nothing. Find people that banter while they paint, talk about what they are doing and WHY. Also try to remember who your audience is. Not everyone has an airbrush, not everyone has access to specialty paints. there should be a balance of beginner level and advanced tutorials so you don't alienate viewers.

Infinity Specifically
I want to see more batreps of this game. there is very little out there. I recommend you research the infinity forum regarding terrain, as it needs to be insanely dense, and relatively low to the board or equal number of high points to cut off line of sight so you dont get a sniper perched every game.

It may be a good idea to start at a low point level (100) and do a video intro series of a small scale escalation/slow grow type theme. As the point value climbs introduce more rule subsets like sectorials and the use of linked teams. Infinity is a low model count but the density of rules per model can get overwhelming.

For awhile I watched MWG vids all the time, when I first got into the hobby I spent alot of time watching batreps and learning the rules and stuff through those videos. I really enjoyed them alot.

Around 6 months ago I slowed down my watching of your vids considerably and at this time I havent watched any of them for maybe 2-3 months.

There were a few different reasons, but mostly it came down to the people doing the batreps, I cannot bring myself to watch beat the cooler batreps, there are also a few painters that I dont really enjoy watching either, and as those people started making more videos I moved away from watching them. I also noticed alot of the list that the MWG guys had were tailored to that batrep, to me that isnt fun to watch, but the vid you guys did awhile back that had Dave and Dan rolling for random units was really great (Dans giant ork bomma was in that one). Finally, sometimes during rules you got wrong I feel like you guys talk down to the people who leave comments, and Im sure you guys are not meaning to but its still noticeable, at least to me.

Also, Dave proxying EVERYTHING. It doesnt bother me when he is trying a new unit, but most of the time he just throws some random stuff on the table that is supposed to be something else.

Over all I like MWG. and was sad to hear the news of you closing the store, but Ill always appreciate MWG for helping me into the hobby.

Looking forward to see what you come up with concerning the Infinity videos! My main hope would be that the game gets some depth of coverage, and effort is made with the terrain and whatnot (might be worth contacting Corvus Belli, if you haven't done so already? I'm sure they would be really supportive of the kind of thing you're proposing).

I have to be honest, don't think I read any negative comments regarding this (possible a few neutral 'rolls eyes' type comments, but that was it).

Miniwargaming got me back into the hobby, particularly the videos posted on building a Necron army in 30 days, and Dan led to me collecting Orks. (I think we all miss Dan). I knew virtually nothing of the hobby when I started watching your batreps so I have to thank you for introducing me to Warmahordes.

I also bought all the Dark Potential starter sets in an attempt to generate interest for the game in my club (and as a little thanks for bringing the hobby back to me). My only worry with all the new goings on is that Dark Potential will just end where it currently is, three starter sets meaning that the longevity of the game is virtually zero. My concern is so high that I'm checking to see what other sci-fi skirmish games I can fit the figures into because otherwise I feel like I've wasted a fair amount of money.

I think you guys are doing great overall. It took me awhile to get used to some of you people. Take Owen for example. At first I thought he was kind of condisending, but now I've realized that he's just really mellow. I've been really enjoying him.

Dave on the other hand drives me crazy. Rambling on and on really detracts from the fact that the report should be about the game, not his impression of a coked out 1970's Robin Williams. It's annoying and no matter how much I try i find myself skipping some of his batreps when he's on a bad tangent.

Jay isn't bad. He's goofy and likable, but in a try-hard kinda way. He doesn't have the charisma or natural ease that Dan had. Dan could make even a boring batrep fun.

As for the games you cover, I'd suggest sticking to the popular ones. Watching you play that football board game the other day was painful. I understand you were trying something new, but it was a little too far from mainstream.

I don't play warmachine and have no interest in it, but i understand its appeal. Even thought I don't watch those batreps I don't blame you for making them. It's the smart thing to do. Infinity is similar to this.

As much as the corporate side of GW can suck you have to remember that people still love the game and fluff. I'd wager that a vast majority of your fan base started here. I wouldn't venture to far from it.

Kris is amazing and funny. I'd totally watch a batrep with him in it. You should unshackle him from the painting room once in a while and let him play.

I like you sit and talks much more when you have someone else sit in with you. Vouncing ideas or topics off Dave or own always makes for better videos.

I LOVE the wacky bets. Do more of those. Coatless snow angel FTW. Pie in the face FTW. Nothing better then warching something funny and random happen at the end of a report.

Random guest is great. I love the random opponents. It helps mix up the armies and adds general variety. Have a girl on the show once in a while isn't bad either.

You should do army break downs like beast of war do. You all have different personallities and watching two or three of you bounce ideas or thoughts on certain units or army builds would be cool. Owen kinda tried this with the new Tau book, but sounded scatter brained and lost, almost as if he was pulling all his info outta his butt. It would have been a mich better series of vids if you or dave discussed the information with him in a round-table type forum.

Anyway.. I ramble. Sorry for droning on and on.

In short I love you guys and wish you the best.

Well let me post some "constructive criticism" for you since everyone in here seems really excited and thinks high of you.
Recently you where giving away some dvd regarding paint everything series that required to register to vault in order to download the content. I did register and then I proceeded to download all 14 dvd which where broken up to smaller parts each. In order to get an idea of what the vault is offering I watched all of them. What you are offering is mediocre advice for painters that are below novice level. This might be the majority of painters out there but I was disappointed nonetheless since videos (eg wet blending) never produce a finished miniature... There are free tutorials out there showing you how to wet blend or drybrush that finish a whole model and do a far better job than your guy did. He wet blended the shoulder pad of a warjack and when it was time for a little trickier part (top of the head between shoulders) he smudged paint on it and called it a day. Don't even get me started on wet blending a fur cause my 10 years old cousin knows that furs should be drybrushed and if he was going to wet blend he was gonna do it better! With all those high quality tutorials on youtube I would expect something far better from you since I am supposed to pay for it!
And this brings me to my other argument against you. You are a company and in order for you to survive you have to make money. That is understandable but I don't have to applause this do I? I see a bunch of people creating the WG consortium, you included, claiming that this will take war gaming to the next level? Well that level requires you to pay in order to be part of it. You are a company and believe me we have enough companies already in the hobby selling minis. Trying to take my money for giving advice regarding something I do as a hobby in my not so plentiful spare time is something I can't really accept as an idea nor something I will fund.

All I can say about painting is that VMC tastes much better than VMA... especially black...

I have been a huge fan of you guys for years, I watch just about every video you guys make. Here's some ideas:

1. Follow through with ideas and endeavors. A lot of people really liked the narrative batrep you made, but you never continued it. This kind of stuff happens all the time it seems.

2. Make a photo uploader and viewer for community and staff pictures. I and others have been asking for a long time for stuff like this. It would be great to see pictures of your armies, especially Kris' work. It would be nice to interact with the MWG community and staff more with our own minis. Maybe Kris and Jay could provide folks with feedback on their work.

3. Change up the battles more. I love the fast pace of releases you guys are doing, but all the battles blend together. There's been so many Orks vs New Tau that I can't recall any of them individually. Make special scenarios, custom objectives, competitions between players, weird terrain rules, etc.

4. Painting competition between employees judged by the fans. Or let fans control army lists or something. Just do something to keep things interesting, and the more the community interacts the more you'll keep people interested in your videos.

Keep up the good work. You and Dave have built a great community. Thanks for always being there for us fans!

I also had a go at the trial vault membership at one time.

1. I absolutely hated that the videos were split up into so many pieces. I'm sure there is a data reason for this, but it's annoying regardless.

2. As Capamaru said above, there needs to be some complete miniature tutorials, and not just about 40k and Warmachine.

3. Lots and lots and LOTS of Warhammer 40,000 and Warmachine but hardly anything on Warhammer Fantasy by comparison.

4. Some quick daily articles or something would be nice as well.

5. For the battle reports, it would be nice to do one of those simplified images of the battlefield like they used to do in White Dwarf, showing charges, retreats and combats after each turn, just to get a good overall feel of the turn. Sometimes the turns blend together.

6. An E-Zine may not be a bad thing to consider, if done to an acceptable standard, and the work load for this could be spread throughout the month.

That's all I could think of right now. I really like your videos, but by themselves and the content they have hasn't been enough to convince me to go for a vault membership.

Edit: Just to back up my point about so much emphasis on 40K and Warmachine at the Indiegogo site, all the stretch goal stuff that have to do with a particular game have to do with Warmachine or 40K.

I'm obviously a 40k fan through and through. I do own a little infinity stuff and while the game interests me, I am by no means as excited about it as I am 40k.

That out of the way - I have actually always had great respect for miniwargaming.com

- I think your terrain tutorials and other tutorials have been inspiring.
- I think your sense of humor is spot on (Miniwargaming Dave still makes me laugh)
- I think you provide some nice batreps. I've always been a fan.

I like the way you guys try different approaches to things. As a Podcaster, I can appreciate the effort that goes into trying out something new or approaching something from a different angle.

I'm a big fan of people that are excited about their hobby, and I think your guys enthusiasm shows through.

I watched some of MiniWarGaming's Heavy Gear videos, which I liked. Specifically, I liked the terrain, the clear explanations, and the general demeanor and attitude of the reviewers.

In general I am looking for videos that showcase unusual games. I want videos that show the potential of the games on the table as well as the rules. It is always cool to see stuff well done. (Cool stuff that springs to mind is the Fanticide Fountains of Grod table, Antenocitis workshop's Infinity board, the Atomic Cafe table by a German site, and a model of Rivendell.) Such videos may not be a good business proposition, but it is what I am looking for.

I am also interested in campaign style story line battles rather than battle reports.

My third area of interest is tactics.

I think some of the comments made regarding the move into Infinity was a little snarky, watching Matt stumble over the pronunciation Acontimento and Penthesilea and rolling their eyes and calling him a try-hard.

But theres probably a few ways that this could be helped.

Matt, the main thing that would be good for you to do with this is to reach out to the Infinity community and get them involved. The last thing they'll want to watch is when you guys are gaming on a table that hasn't been set up properly, or missing a lot of rules, or mispronouncing the names of armies and units. And lets be honest, you guys probably will - its got a lot of very deep and detailed rules, and for most players it takes 5-10 games to get used to setting up the right sort of table, and understanding most of the rules, and how to build an effective list.

But this is a community that is very keen to bring in new people, so if you work with them, they'll do a lot to help you get acquainted - heck, you'll probably be overwhelmed by just how much they want to help.

Take your time, make sure you're doing it right. And make a lot of Rules You Get Wrong videos - since Dan left, they haven't really happened, and they've always been good.

ps. Specialist / board games, ie. stuff like X-Wing, Dreadball, Super Dungeon Explore, whatever - these probably don't belong in the same category as regular batreps. I'd suggest you create a new category for these types of games.

While I'm at it, I'd also like to suggest you do more sort of roundtable and discussion and conversational type shows and broadcasts. Discuss game systems, discuss rules, discuss models, discuss painting methods, discuss tactics, discuss business practices, im sure theres lots you guys could do.
The one-guy-talking-into-a-camera-about-whatever-is-on-his-mind sort of thing that sometimes get posted up (not referring to live shows, just the more one-off things that don't involve a live chat) tend to drag and become hard to watch.

Really enjoy your whole channel. Could we see more of your home brewed games like the one you did with Dans big ork bomma. We're it dropped large bombs on different sections.

I like your 40k and fantasy batreps the most. Mostly becuase I have the rulebook a for them so I know what's going on. It's harder for me to grasp the others like warmachine/ hordes or infinity becuase I'm not sure what's going on. I can pick up some stuff here and there from watching but sometimes its confusing for me.

Could we see more tactical videos? I really liked your tactic videos on individual units. I was hoping you would take it to the next level and give us tips on how to deploy and how to use combos and terrain for best advantage.

I, too, must also join in the 'MWG is awesome' call.... I got back into wargaming a few years back, but, being the extremely lazy person I am, progress has, at best, been very slow.

However, I find the work you, Dave and Dan to be inspiring, and especially loved your batreps. I find they are a lot more expressive than a lot of the other bat reps out there, and actually show what is going on with the battles, as opposed to just showing the end of the turns and leaving us to work out what actually happened. Personally, I prefer Daves banter bat reps, because I find the banter to be amusing, and breaks up what can be a slightly 'dry' subject into more manageable chunks....
I hope you keep up the good work, and you keep the open challenges going, coz its one of my ambitions (admittedly, its not exactly a world shattering ambition, but still) to come over to Canada and play against you guys....

But, to the actual question you asked, I'm primarily interested in 40k, but I have no problems with you doing videos for other systems, and I have found them to be quite interesting, as it helps to show me what the other systems are like. I, for one, found the Warmachine videos you guys did to be very interesting, and it has led me to want to give that a go at some point.

Love you guys
