In its first week after re-launching it’s Kickstarter, PoweredPlay Gaming has already blown through its first two stretch goals for our LED lighting and effects kits. We relaunched our Kickstarter and met our goal within two hours of opening, and its first stretch goal by the end of day-1.

We also announced a partnership with Secret Weapon Miniatures, to develop our next major product – Powered Bases. Built on Secret Weapon’s most popular resin designs, the kit will allow modelers and hobbyists to add lighting effects to models on 40mm and 50mm bases - with larger bases and bikes also planned.

If you're asking yourself, "Didn't we see this before??" the short answer is: Yes.

We cancelled our first Kickstarter project because we screwed the pooch on our last attempt. From launching at 4:30 on a Friday, to not having the PR machine going before the launch - misclassifying ourselves in Tech instead of tabletop gaming, to a confusing rewards structure: We screwed up and learned our lessons.

We want to be sure that everyone actually gets their stuff as promised. To do that, we relaunched with a lot of changes, and you'll notice a significantly lower goal.

If you supported us before, we hope you'll continue to do so here. If you didn't support us before, or are new to our project, we hope you believe in us enough to support us today.

Thanks to everyone for your support!

Well, all that and lowering your target to 20% of what it was

But seriously... I'm curious about the effects controller. If you make that stretch goal, does that just get added to each alpha kit?

This looks cool. I always wanted to make light-up monoliths but don't know anything about electronics.

How long till we can unlock the remote control kit so my dreadnoughts can walk across the board and smash my friend's minis?

Hah! I see a Crusader... the Leviathans are great kits for this, hollow chest for the battery and board. Good luck guys!

Any resemblance of this post to written English is purely coincidental.

If we meet our goal, everyone who supports us at the $125 level will get one for free, and we'll make it available at a discounted price for everyone to add-on to their support levels.

Best of luck with this project. I think there is a pretty big appetite for this sort of thing.

Will you be expanding into kits that add pulsing, blinking, and other such effects?

@RiTides Thanks much.

@Ouze Yes, the effects module will have a number of effects pre-programmed and it will be designed so that the tinkerers can program their own effects.

It's not really my thing personally but I wish you all the best on it.

Listen, my children, as I pass onto you the truth behind Willy Wonka and his factory. For every wonka bar ever created in existance, Mr. Wonka sacraficed a single Oompa Loompa to the god of chocolate, Hearshys. Then, he drank the blood of the fallen orange men because he fed them a constant supply of sugary chocolate so they all became diabetic and had creamy, sweet-tasting blood that willy could put into each and every Wonka bar. That is the REAL story behind willy wonka's Slaughter House!

What would You Light?

We're continually hearing awesome things from you, our supporters, and many people across the globe who are interested in our product. Not only because it's eliminating a headache, but because it's opening the door to new creative opportunities.

We've spoken with expert painters, modelers, hobbyists, game store owners, gamers and architects. We've heard about how people want to build their favorite Gundam models, Transformers, G.I. Joe's, Games Workshop and Privateer Press Models.

We want to hear how your creative minds are looking forward to using our stuff? Want to light an A-10? Want to light a Leviathan Crusader? Looking to make some architectural models sexy? Tell us.

WWGM CHALLENGE

We''re happy to announce that we're launching a contest with our friends at Screaming Heretic. We want you to submit a YouTube clip (with the hashtag #LetThereBeLight) showcasing your existing models, and telling us what you would light (or what's missing) to complete your army. The editors at SH will select the top 4 submissions, who will all receive 3 Alpha Kits - and the winner by fan votes/likes will get a new model of your choice from us, up to $200 USD.

So, that begs the question.... What would you light??
