Here is my 2k Ork list (I keep making bike lists and I forced myself to stop doing that for once). Here is the general battleplan. Since my boyz are limited I will focus on making a brick wall of wagons. My Mek will ride in the middle wagon and all three will be full of lootaz. As the trucks go down the field the lootaz will pour firepower out of the top and if I have to use snap shots, who cares? Not much different from regular ork shooting right? The trukks will follow closely behind or stay hidden till the enemy is complete disarray. They will also be shooting out of their trucks as well.

HQ:
Big Mek - Custom force Field, 'eavy armor
13 man Lootaz squad
Battlewagon - Deffrolla, RPJ, 4 big shootas, Grot riggers

Elite:
13 man Lootaz squad
Battlewagon - Deffrolla, RPJ, 4 big shootas, Grot riggers

13 man Lootaz squad
Battlewagon - Deffrolla, RPJ, 4 big shootas, Grot Riggers

Troops:
10 boy squad - Shootas, Big shoota
Nob - PK, 'eavy armor
Trukk - RPJ

10 boy squad - Shootas, Big shoota
Nob - PK
Trukk - RPJ

10 boy squad - Shootas, Big shoota
Nob - PK
Trukk - RPJ

11 boy squad - Shootas, Big shoota
Nob - PK
Trukk - RPJ

Fast attack:

Dakkajet - Flya Ace, 3 Big Shootas

Dakkajet - Flya Ace, 3 Big shootas

One point shy of 2k dead flat but isn't it always?

I'm dissappointed that nobody replied to this earlier.

Have been thinking of running a 1000 point version of this list myself.

Main thing I would recommend is perhaps a Mega Armour character in with the Lootas ~ feth snap shots when you can fire at full BS

Well, by changing out the Rokkits to big shootas, and dropping fly boss since it seems redundent. That saves me only a paltry 50 points. There is not much left I can beyond maybe another boy to each trukk and giving a nob from 'eavy armor.

Whats the point of keeping a 48" range unit (lootas) in a battlewagon (except if you are planning to bring some mekboys with them)? Also get bosspoles for your nobs. But in general it seems like this list could very well work and the battlewagons will let you survive with the lootas for a while longer. Though I'd rather go with having the lootas in back and then bring the boyz in battewagons instead.

Personally I'd only do it as part of a themed list ~ land battleships, now with 500% more guns because of the Lootas on board.

I reckon Lootas in area terrain > Lootas in a battlewagon for survivability. Those damn things go up first time, every time!

Since I will be taking the fight to the enemy, I have no need for lootas in my backfield. I will be rolling in to commit genocide on the enemy as much as possible. With that said, the land battleship is basically the center of this idea. I want a WALL of lead so thick the air itself is light on fire. 52 shots fired at my maximum for each wagon. Long story short it comes to only a mere 5-14 hits at normal BS per wagon. I might rethink this list a bit.

Maybe change one or two of the Lootas squads to Burnas.. You can put a hurt down with all those flamers. Roll up and drop those flamer templates on a squad, shouting Burn!

One configuration:
Big Mek - Custom force Field, 'eavy armor
19 man Lootaz squad
Battlewagon - Deffrolla, RPJ, 4 big shootas, Grot riggers

Elite:
10 man Burnaz squad
Battlewagon - Deffrolla, RPJ, 4 big shootas, Grot riggers

Well doing math hammer, a squad of lootaz snap shotting only gives me 3 hits at 39 shots. Maybe five shots if I am lucky.

I may remove them from the wagons and put something else into those wagons all togethor.

Yeah what crabpuff and dakkamite said about burnas. Burnas in battlewagons are simply great. And yes you WILL have great use for your lootas in the backfield as their range makes it possible for you to shoot at stuff all over the board basicly

I ran three burnaboys on foot with two meks today. They torched the crap out of a squad of space marines and easily earned their points back. It was great fun!
