On Nimbosa, cramming as many guardsmen into troop carriers as possible.

Sounds amazing. Once it's released, I wonder how long it will take to make a helsreach mod?

As others have noted, Final Liberation again?

Or perhaps Panzer General 40K (like Rites of War)?

I wish they hadn't gone with Armageddon though since we already know the canonical ending for the 2nd War, and how it leads to the 3rd. They could have gone for another world (as they did in Final Liberation) and left room for them to develop further in their own way without the restrictions set by GW's existing timeline.

I realise this is almost a year-long bump, but they just released some more detail and decent screenshots of the game:

http://www.pcgamesn.com/warhammer-40000-armageddon-waaahggame-anyone-can-play

It's definitely the spiritual successor to Final Liberation.

I'm buying this game. I am also looking forward to the Mods.

The secret to painting a really big army is to keep at it. You can't reach your destination if you never take any steps.

I'd be interested if you were able to play as several different races. But the limited campaign where you are stuck as the same race (or two races) sounds boring. Is there multiplayer? If not, another reason to pass.

This information is a year old, and first quarter is almost over. Does anyone have any additional information regarding if the project is still on?

We try our best, of course!

I'm just hoping that there will be Titans - lots of Titans...

Hah! You kidder!

This screen shot from that article shows superheavy walkers, I think.

There is also this blurb in the article..."Flashback is also planning DLC, adding new locations in Armageddon and even a separate add-on focusing on the Titans facing the Orkish Gargants, which sounds like quite the titanic clash."

These folks did PanzerCorps (spiritual successor to Panzer General) and that was a damn good turn based game.

If this is anything like PanzerCorps I'm picking it up day 1.

I would gladly shell out my hard earned dollars to have the fun I had playing Final Liberation again. That was THE 40K game to play on PC.

Slitherine are also developing Buzz Aldrin's Space Program Manager alongside their 40K game. I don't know which I want most /sarcasm.

I would love a great and new turn based 40k game, plus one about the 2nd Armageddon war would be all the sweeter, but looking at the company's history with mobile games and GWs love of Apple I fear it may be developed for iphone/ipad and ported to PC.

Armageddon is trademarked?

Like to see how they got away with that.

You mean a lot of games you just haven't heard of?

I've played a few of their games. Many of them are "dad games" - hex-based, turn based strategy games. They're very old school, but they're generally pretty damn good. I'm on board for this.

it's a lot of fun, and a real challenge on the hard setting...
to have Armageddon instead on my iPad is something i will be all over...
after becoming addicted to Battle Academy, i have no worries about Slitherine pulling off a fun 40K game...
