Neal's put a bunch of stuff up on eBay but they're mostly above current market rates so I'm not sure what his plan is.

Hopefully I can start buying things from places like Hoard o' Bitz. If it wasn't for the fun of converting the models, I frankly would have been out of GW games long ago. I really hate to see the Warstore take a hit of any kind, as I am extremely loyal to them for the excellent service they have given me over the years.

The only GW purchases I have made since about November have been bitz from Neal. I'm hoping to still ba able to get good deals online. Like I said before, I just discovered the game In the Emperor's Name, and the sprue sets from the last few 40K box sets (Black Reach Ork boyz, DV Chaos Veterans, DV cultists, etc) make perfect low-cost warbands, or at least the core of a warband.

Plus, I want a set of the Terminators from Dark Vengeance, to add to my Space Hulk Blood Angels to make a "Blood Angels" Deathwing army, but The Warstore was out of them before I could get a last order in, so it's ebay.

In the Emperor's Name is fantastic and plastic bitz sellers have been so useful for making custom stuff for the game. It sucks that your favorite source of bitz is gone. I'm personally a fan of Hoard O Bits and Black Dagger Games on eBay.

I'm a big fan of Neil's, and I've spent a fair amount of money over the years with the WarStore via phone and at GenCon. Classy guy, well run business. I've never had a problem with any of my orders.

However, I've never found his bits service to be competitive with Hoard-O-Bits and the other bits places I use.

I certainly wish Neil well and hope that his store thrives.

I guess the new $115 Riptide isn't enough.

Shame on GW.

The Riptide is only $85, retail.

The Wraithknight is the $115 model, retail.

Check out Hoard O Bitz and Black Dagger Games on eBay. Then check out In the Emperor's Name and you'll be able to do gaming in the 40k universe at a very, very economical price:

I prefer eBay honestly. How difficult would it be to set up their bit sales on eBay anyway? I'm ignorant of this issue as a whole so I apologize if this has been answered else-where.

I know GW has complained about people using GW art for auctions but if they take a picture of the bits they are selling there isn't anything GW can do.

I've been buying up every metal tau model I could find on eBay cause I ain't touching that failcast unless I absolutely have to (Farsight). Got a shadowsun, shaper, 3 krootox, and 10 kroot hounds at a good discount. I feel bad cause my FLGS offers a 25% discount on all non-direct GW models but I told them I can't do failcast.

It's all a question of where they can get their supplies, GW will not supply stock to businesses that split kits to sell bitz

so you'd need to go to a secondary supplier (meaning you'd get less discount then from GW direct), and GW will not supply stock to a business that sells (in obvious large quantities) to businesses that sell bitz

it's possibly to play the system by trying to set up multiple 'front' buyers but it's extra hassle and expense for you (and you still risk your stockist blocking you if you get found out)

the final source is the second hand market, GW can't regulate that but the stuff that will sell well is the stuff that tends not to be available 2nd hand (and GW still won't sell you new stock for your main shop/website), and buying stock in little dribs and drabs in a hassle

so you add it all up and decide if you are a gaming store/website (and so will get out of the bitz business) or a bitz seller (your store could still sell other companies stuff as well), businesses will go where their main revenue stream is

I just purchased a SUPER DUPER MONDO MEGA bitz bag. If anyone else here plans to do the same, you should shoot me a PM in case you want to trade stuff you get that you don't want for stuff I got I don't want, etc.

I loved their bitz bags. Most of their bitz were too expensive for me, but I love the store/Neal. Will continue to buy new GW stuff from them (and DreamForge, and whatever else they carry that I want). a real class act of a store.

The point is Orlando, how the hell would Gw know if Neal set up an eBay account that wasn't "Neal@TheWarstore" and sold bits? There is no real conceivable way. Even a return address on the package could be a new PO Box.

Anyway...pool some cash, get a 3d printer and you'll never need a third party bitz seller again.

The bitz service has brought many hours of enjoyment to me, pity GW is giving the screws to everyone. I hope Neal and company can weather this storm.

Judging by how little amount of bits they had to sell I don't think this is going to hurt them much. Far different for companies like mine (battle road hobbies.com) and hoard"o"bits.

Listen, my children, as I pass onto you the truth behind Willy Wonka and his factory. For every wonka bar ever created in existance, Mr. Wonka sacraficed a single Oompa Loompa to the god of chocolate, Hearshys. Then, he drank the blood of the fallen orange men because he fed them a constant supply of sugary chocolate so they all became diabetic and had creamy, sweet-tasting blood that willy could put into each and every Wonka bar. That is the REAL story behind willy wonka's Slaughter House!

I'm gonna go drive twenty minutes down the road to the Warstore and see if I can pick out my own big from their collection.

I wonder if that would be cheating.

I thought about it... link anouncing it here:

http://www.thewarstore.com/index.html?p=2269

Or direct "buy" link:

http://www.thewarstore.com/product80691.html

Is it both bags together for that price? Seems rather high, though! Still... if they had them for fantasy, I'd probably bite, but I don't see anything for fantasy.

Edit: And this makes me appreciate my dealings with Empchild a year and a half ago even more as he got me some great bits for fantastic prices, even though it took some time due to my wanting so many of the same bit (and since they tend to come from the same kit, that means waiting for more kits to come through, etc). Recommended!

If somehow it did come back to neal/warstore GW would stop supplying him?

Remember the Warstore is both a online retailer and a distributor. I assume that "wholesale" part of their site isn't just there for show.

I've been aware of their Mondo Bag Specials that they do around Black Friday each year, but had never pulled the trigger on them. Last night, my curiosity caved into cries of "DO EEEET!" from 3 of the 4 voices in my head. The 4th voice said "Don't be a pansy," so I ordered one. We shall see!

You won't regret it. I have gotten the Black Friday bags 3 years running. One year, they accidentally sent me two additional bags. I was BURIED IN BITS.

The Warstore was pitiful in terms of their bits selection anyway. My local FLGS has tons of bits when I need them. So do I, because I buy real kits occasionally.

They will still be able to do that. It's just companies who bought directly from GW who won't be able to. Besides, GW will be launching their owns bits packages again soon...
