yeah,
Fair enough bigger is better! With the models I expect you'll need the box space!

Q2) Is the 2ndEd board different from the board in 1stEd?? or will it match up with the old board? (Which is awesome.)

All my Quibbles aside - Everyone Get involved!!! this game is Epic!!

Day D+ 20 More Drop Armor and Designers Notes
105k! Another day, another stretch. We're starting to get into some really meaty freebies now in the form of specialist troopers. Let's get this campaign in gear!
I have just posted some designers notes written by John Roberts on the new characters from the Exclusive Pack #1 here on our blog. Check it out:
http://www.grindhousegames.com/blogs/incursion-blog/8717265-designers-notes
...
... WOW! Working as fast as we can...
In the interim,it's time to werf some flammen (sez John Allison)!

And a trooper:

Thank you all for your support!

Newest update... update 12
Day D+21 Calm Before The Storm wrote:Good evening troops! As you know, we're headed into the final and most critical phase of the campaign over the coming week. John and I know we can count on each and every one of you to push as hard as you can to help get us to the 200 mark. Why is this important? At 200k, there is enough money in the pot to ensure that all of you benefit from a full complement of playing pieces for almost any possible combination of force allocation for any playable force in almost any mission as freebies at the higher pledge levels. Furthermore, the special dice and even more importantly, the plastic doors make it in for free. I think there are a few other goodies we can slip in between 170 and 200. Waterslide Decals and a big pack of MI-13 troopers with corresponding cards can probably happen in this space :-)

You guys are our ambassadors. We really need you to get out into your gaming groups, social media circles, forums you frequent, etc. and help us convince people to support this campaign! Over the top, lads!

You have all been seeing images and reading discussion about the Fallschirmjager Drop Troopers. We are finishing up the art over the next couple of days and intend to introduce this new playable force as add-on to the campaign. This is something we've wanted to do for a couple of years now. We'll need to get the pledge level up to 250k before we can afford the steel dies required to get these guys into plastic but because you guys are insisting, we'll make them available in metal. We have seven figures planned. They are as follows:

1. Hauptman Hidegard (Hilde) Becker: Die Walkure.

2. Feldwebel with STG-44 (rifle grenade and vampyr scope)

3. Trooper #1

4. Trooper #2

5. MG-42 Specialist

6. Flammenwerfer Specialist

7. Panzerfaustwerfer Specialist (Panzerfaust Multi-launcher)

The rules are still in an Alpha phase. We'll be asking any of you who are interested to help us test these rules over the next two months or so. We'll provide print and play cards and standups for you to participate! John Roberts will collect game play data via our forums.

Here's the latest John Allison art! Panzerfaustwerfer and Feldwebel

Did you not enjoy having to turn the entire box upside down to get the cards out? OK, finger holes it is, then.

Also, 2nd ed board matches up with 1st ed board but the finish will be a little different.

Fantastic game. I have the first edition, the metal minis for the APEs and Germans, and the resin objective markers from Fenris. Did not know about SNAFU until last month when I discovered they were doing this Kickstarter. I am very glad they are doing plastic doors as Fenris no longer produces them. I should probably get the resin generator control panels from them soon.

If you are on the fence about this game jump in now. Nazi Zombies make excellent Plague Zombies as well.

Ok guys here's an update I have been waiting for. At this stage no confirmed price yet, we will get more info tomorrow. So far this unit can be used against the U.S APE's and the MI-13 British troops. But here is the Fun part the Drop Troopers can be used to fight against Hugo Von X as the German High command believe he has gone to far. Either way this new unit will be awesome to play.

they will be in metal with separate metal heads. Plastic versions won't be here until we hit the $250k mark [considering we are at $110k not sure if we'll get there, though we can dam well give it a go]

if you haven't seen this Kickstarter project you got 6 days to before it ends so get over there and have a look.

The German Drop Troopers:

The Starter pack has 7 minis:
Hilde Becker, Sarge, MG42 Trooper#1, Flammenwerfer #1, Panzerfaustwerfer#1,Trooper #1,Trooper #2, Drop trooper Dice set.

Reinforcement pack:
Panzerfaustwerfer#2, Flammenwerfer #2, MG42 Trooper#2, Trooper #3, and Trooper #4.

This is the icing on the cake, these look like having the potential of being great looking figures and if we can get to a chance of one piece plastics, besides besides being good for wargamers, they should some of the nicest board game pieces out there.

We are also promised a little rejigging that should make the all in Buckets of Blood pledge even more attractive to the community.

The next few days should be a blast and all kudos to Grindhouse (Jim and John) for trying to give us the best deal they can - small company but big on listening to their backers

Heads up , the stretch goals have been readjusted and now the DropTroopers and the reinforcement pack (in plastic one piece models) could be a freebie for Buckets of Blood at the $205k level.

A big ask but with the extra Bomberzombies already added as a freebie and with the option of swap out, BoB is looking better all the time.

Another stretch busted! Man, we're racking up a lot of free figs and cards now. Let's go get that HMG APE at 120k!

John and I have been digging deep. I think we're all the way to China at this point :-) As we've said, the goal of this campaign is to get as much done as possible without causing us to have to borrow more money. We've been cautious to date as experience has taught us we need to be. We're not a big game company with a fat cash reserve sitting around. We've cut out all the fat now and are committed to getting our own cash contributions to this KS development reimbursed down the road at retail. As of this moment, the AWESOME new stretch chart reflects the best we can do. We're taking a little risk on the stuff past 165k, thinking we can make it up on the backside. The personal risk for us is biggest at the 200k level plastic drop troopers but we're willing to accept that. Buckets of Blood: we hear you. There needs to be some more value for some of you who don't want board and t-shirt (silly kids!). We are doing three things beyond what we have already done, effective now:

1. You may exceed the amount of the items you are switching out and make up the difference by adding to your pledge.

2. You may now include the poster as one of your switch-outs in the calculus. If you wish to switch for JUST the t-shirt, we'll allow you to switch it out even-steven. Please don't make that statement more complicated than it is. Extra ten dollars, blah, blah, blah :-)

3. We have just unlocked the Zombie Bombardier pack as a freebie for Buckets of Blood. Check out the stretch chart. It's pretty :-)

As we have just added close to ten thousand dollars in design cost on our end by committing to the drop troopers, we cannot allow these to be part of the switch-out at Buckets of Blood. Doors and dice are in the same situation. We'll need to unlock them. I believe this is all possible under the current stretch chart.

Thank you all. We had some tangles initially but I believe we will finish this thing strong with your help. School starts tomorrow so I'm going to go spend a couple of hours with my family. Man they are patient with me :-)

The metals are. The plastic is unlocked at $200k (at which point plastic drop troopers are free for BoB).

Yep, you can add on metal versions. If they hit a certain future level of funding (I think 205k?) they will be available in plastic as well (and the BoB pledgers will get the plastic ones included in their pledge).

At which point I'd expect that a lot of the the BOB backers metal droptroop buyers will pull their $70 metal add on? and the total may fall below funding?

I just got off the phone with John Roberts. We're gonna do these two things:
1. Add a box of Sturmzombies to Grinder and Double Feature
2. Lift ALL restrictions on Buckets of Blood switch-outs.
I just informed my colleagues that I will be "not in the office" for the next three days. I intend to create a pledge tracker banner at the top of the home page that links to a "what you currently get" page and we will fill out some stretches beyond 205 k.
Let's take this thing home, people...

So guys now there shouldn't be any excuses not join [having a restrictive bank manager aka the wife my let you off this time]

I disagree, the Grinder pledge level is now a great deal right with the extra box of 24 zombies!
Right now with the current Grinder stretch goals you'll get a extra 37 minitures.
1 blitz hound, 2 extra bomber zombies, 30 extra zombies, 4 extra apes!
This makes it twice what you'll get if you wait for retail!
$100 Retail 38 minis
$100 Kickstarter 75 miniatures!

I think this is clearly now the best deal you'll ever get for incursion.

The Grinder level is now really good value and withe addition of the free doors and dice , BoB gets even better, You can now see real savings and of course given that there is likely only limited post KS indie sales, you are not going to see large discounts from online.

At $160k and BoB you are getting all the options for both Incursion and SNAFU you had as standees but now as models and extra characters, proper doors and faction dice to boot.

So what do you get first and foremost a well triedexcellent boardgame, in some ways similar to Space Hulk, but which is much more. The characters are not just an extra defence dice etc but have , well character., the cards and turn bidding add another level of testing.

Best of all post KS, Grindhouse will not just walk away having got your cash, this is their game and you know they will be there actively discussing it and looking for ways to improve it with the rest of what is friendly online community

new update guys

We are entering the final 48 hrs. of our Kickstarter campaign to print 2nd edition Incursion. Please visit us:

http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1440310529/incursion

We have made SWEEPING changes to the campaign since its opening day. Some of the things we have done/achieved:

1. Provided European fulfillment so you pay no import duties in EU.

2. Added a free set of 24 Sturmzombies to the core pledge levels: Grinder and Double Feature yielding 77 and 94 figures (including some large ones) at base-buy in at each of those levels respectively.

3. Massively compressed stretch goals by almost 75%. As of this writing we have unlocked 13 stretch goals. This represents 27 new free figures with associated cards at the Buckets of Blood pledge level.

4. Increased flexibility of Buckets of Blood pledge level by allowing you to switch out the t-shirt and/or extra board for Add-on credit.

5. Added the much requested Fallschirmjager Drop Armor figures and cards.

6. Provided a complete game play video

7. Added two new pledge levels (SNAFU and Ala Carte) to better serve existing fans and provide more add-on flexibility for new fans.

With your help, we will get this campaign up to 205k and include many more free figures (including the new Fallschimjager drop armor in plastic), lots of dice, plastic doors, waterslide transfers, new sculpts, and more.

Since we are catering to a wide variety of desires within our existing fan base as well as new fans, the options available in the campaign may appear complex. If you have any questions at all, please do not hesitate to send us an email or contact us through Kickstarter or ask your question on the Kickstarter comments section. We would be happy to personally walk you through your options if necessary. Here is a link to the pledge calculator that explains options:

Please help us by spreading this message to every forum, website, Facebook page, etc. that you know of. Feel free to copy and paste!

Thank you all in advance for your support and your help in bringing this incredible game to life in the form it deserves.

Sincerely,

Jim Bailey and John Roberts

yeah,
When you see it laid out like that, you can see they have done a lot to make this work.

This is currently what you get at grinder.
You miss out on a lot of free miniatures if you wait for retail!
I cut and pasted this graphic together from the KS page

If you have a $100 hobby bucks to spend you'd be crazy to not buy this!

I've Upped my pledge to $180.
Grinder Pledge plus two sets of plastic doors... and postage.

By too little too late, I mean they waited too long to start adding the extra value. Considering they were hoping for more than a million initially, it was foolish to wait so long before rejigging the goals and adding the extra zombies, etc. They could/should have had the plastic Fallschirmjaeger unlocked long before now (and $50k in the last 4 hours just isn't going to happen (and BoB people with $70 add-one would then drop the extra cash, as you pointed out earlier).

I would have gone in for double feature, if SNAFU came with a proper fething board instead of a poster for $60. People defending it love to point out that the original (which I already own) was just a book with no minis, boards, etc, but it also didn't cost $60.

Sadly, Panic, your graphic that you cut and pasted together there does much more to sell the game than what they have on their KS page - they have no simple, clear visual to show people what their pledges get them.

If I were them, I'd be following your lead quicksmart on Grinder and Double. Maybe you should do Double and email them the pics - then hope they update the images for the final 24 hours?

Yes. A few others in their comments reiterated that it would probably be a good idea to get the others up. Jim asked if Panic would be interested in doing them since he's slow at Photoshop. I let him know that being in the UK, Panic was probably asleep or at work, so hopefully Jim does it himself and gets it online.

I'd like to see them crack the Fallschirmjaeger for BoB.

It's a really well done graphic. Wonder why they didn't do one on their own. I'm having trouble convincing myself to commit to this. It looks neat, but looks pretty similar to lots of other space hulk type games.

Anyone know what makes it really unique?

Pulpy Weird War 2 Spacehulk. Nothing especially unique in their component parts, just a well-done combo, gamewise. If it gets to $205k I'll probably go in for the buckets of blood level, but I reckon they left it far too late to add the value, and I'm just not excited about needing to drop $200 to "update" a game I already have with figures I don't especially need. (Yes, I need more stuff to make it worthwhile for me).

I imagine they didn't make one of their own graphics because they want to push the Buckets of Blood level over the lower level pledges. Because new backers and people on the fence should all have $300 to drop on a game a year out, right?

So not much for someone that doesn't have any real pressing interest in the Weird War II setting. I mean, maybe I'm wrong, but it looks like it could basically be interchangeable with the Dust universe, no?

And I don't know Jim Bailey and John Roberts from Adam, so that doesn't really tell me anything.

Thanks for the quick replies regardless.

Okay. So correct me if I'm wrong but like, 5 stretches in a row didn't include extras for the basic, $100 starter right? And If you want to get the stuff that's KS exclusive, you actually need to throw in $40 more so that you can get KS Pack 1?

Also, was this the KS that originally had stretches out to $1MM?

I have looked at Dust and Tannhauser board game as both are Weird World war II yet both did not grab my attention as much as Incursion and Secret of the Third Reich.

I chose Incursion for one reason every person who has played the game has mentioned it plays "like" Space hulk but way better. The replay value alone is fantastic, the options to choose, the missions all make it a great package and that was with cardboard standees, Now we see the next affordable dimension plastic Miniatures.

I have played Space Hulk my kids have also played the game with me, But both of them love the look of the Grindhouse games minis. So the combination is awesome FOR me.
I intend to take my Incursion minis and play in SotTR against my mates. So I yey again expand the game out even more.

each of us has a reason why we join some its easy as clicking the pledge button others need Value. before they take the plunge.

as for the guys who run it, I like the way they have handled THEIR first Kickstarter yes they made some mistakes but they have learnt from it and are trying their best to get a great range of minis into their box set. looking forward to a second one.,..bring on the soviets.

I am in this for the long haul just wish I had the funds for Bucket of Blood but bank manager won't let me [aka the wife]
