Sounds like their deal with the retailer fell through cause they have no frigging solid date to give as to when this will be released.

My enthusium is wanning but compared to some kickstarters the time hasn't been that long.
The Judged Dredd kickstarter celebrates its 2nd anniversary of ending in August and we are still waiting on items.
Like most gamers I love new shinny stuff but if it takes to long other new shinny stuff takes my attention... will incursion suffer this fate time will tell.

I try to save my annoyance and indignation for one KS at a time. Robotech is first in line, Arena Rex is second, Cthulu Wars is 3rd and then Incursion is down the list at some point after that.
They stumbled a bit in the plastics department, but they appear to be righting the ship now. Not that uncommon the first time around. All Quiet on the Martian Front tried to keep the plastics in the US and still ended up with a 6 month delay out of it. If production manufacturing isn't at least started by the time the kids are back in school, then I'll probably start getting annoyed.

I love Grindhouse, and I love SOTR, so, yeah, I guess I'm OK with cutting them a lot of slack.
Of course it helps that I've pretty much forgotten all about this one, as it is just another in a long line of delayed and extremely late Kickstarters...

Huh, so what makes SOTR so fun?
I've no experience with it at all, but trust your opinion, so now you've got me curious.

It is a fun game that is set during World War II - but with tons of SF/Fantasy elements, making it one of my favorite genres ever...
Weird War II!
It had some rough spots, but an announcement of a 2nd edition has got me very excited!

Not to mention they're pretty lax on what models you use and you can design and build your own mechs.

Looks like Grindhouse are in the almost inevitable w"waiting on the factory to confirm manufacturing stage". Really hopeful that this will not be as prolonged as some other - Robotech anyone -and so still hopeful that we willl see the game inthe next few months - even Jim was putting forward October as optimistic.
Inclined to give thenm more slack than some, since in the past they have fallen over themselves to provide great customer service and West Wind who "partner" them have the same ethos.
The metal Droptroopers look excellent. as does the reposed Gretel, so I am just anxiously waiting

When is that?
For me the shine has worn off... I think the fact that we are only getting a communication once a month is bothering me the most. They should be talking to "their" backers more often.
We wait 4 weeks to be told no date has been set then wait another 4 weeks for the same response.
I backed in at bucket of blood and it has been the biggest amount of my money I have invested in a kickstarter project to date. Now I am regretting doing this... another first for me. Hell I backed the Judge dredd kickstarter and its 2nd anniversary of completing the KS project is celebrated next month and we are still waiting on the final bits we pledged for.. but we get updates, images, progress reports etc...
Not sure what I will do with my incursion "once it finally arrives"

If things don't beat CNY (Feb. 19th, 2015, I think?) (Incursion, Kingdom Death, Robotech, etc.), you can think about Q2 2015 for delivery then...

Kind of sad, considering how hyped you were for it originally. We even clashed a couple of times over it. Really though - I agree with you. Their communication is gak, and comments like this don't help.
HI there everyone. Time for monthly update! As I have said previously, I only intend to send out one update a month and I want them to be substantive.
Especially when, as you've said, it's mostly variations on the theme of "dates slipping, nothing is certain."
Still though - didn't you want Incursion to play with your kids? When it finally turns up, your kids will be a bit older, butthe game should still be quite playable. And now you (and I) know not to back another Grindhouse campaign in the future, or if we do, expect it to be over a year late. I don't expect it in 2014 at this point.

I really like the game. I just sold my 1st Edition version and the metal figures I had for it. I'm getting ready to move to a smaller place and I'm assuming Grindhouse will eventually deliver something, so didn't need both versions.
I would almost ask for my money back at this point because the delays and poor communication have really killed my excitement too, but suspect cash flow is one of their major problems so doubt they could offer a refund.

Unless you're McDonalds, or Walmart or similar you'll never be putting in an order that's big enough to really matter to these plastics factories
so while they'll take your business you'll be very unlikely to get them to sign a contact with fixed delivery dates, position in the production schedule etc
you have to accept that they'll fit you in wherever is convenient, over promise on delivery dates, and probably bump you for a bigger order if it shows up
the only alternative is to pay a lot more to somebody like Renendra (a smaller more gaming focused producer, not in china), or to take this part of procction in-house like GW (and like reaper is beginning to)

Yes I was one of the poster boys for Incursion but things change. The biggest thing I am wanting from a kickstarter project is communication none of this 4 week bollocks. Like I said earlier I would prefer bad news over NO news.
Like me the kids have moved on to other games. The son and I have recently got into Deadzone, he found my old bloodbowl gear and we are playing that, and now he wants to play WWII air combat games after finding some 1/144 scale planes.
I am basically recycling my old games for him and I to use. Incursion well it may get used it may not! only time will tell. But The longer it takes the more likely I won't use it....

I got extra U.S troops was going to use in another project but now I think it would give me a decent starting SotTR U.S force.
SofTR 2 is on my watch list as long as West wind learn from Incursions mistakes.

Um.. how can they have moved onto other games? You didn't have Incursion to begin with. It's not an expansion to something you already had. Besides, when a big-arse box turns up in the post, sometime in 2015, it'd be easy enough to get them re-excited. Even if you're personally over it, I'm sure the kids' enthusiasm at a box filled with loot could draw most gaming dads back into it. gak, I'm supposed to be the surly one here.

Well, we know it's going to be a Kickstarter, and I'm sure that Grindhouse will in some way be involved, given their relationship with West Wind. So unless any models are all metal and cast in-house by WWG, expect similar delays. Unless they can be very specific about how they will be avoiding the same pitfalls that Incursion has had, I'd be going in for the bare minimum (books, no models) or more likely just waiting for retail (10% retail discount and free shipping from the UK).

I don't think that SoTR2 will have a lot of 'plastic' involved at all, actually.
Just a guess on my part though.
How did West Wind's other Kickstarter do in terms of materials and deliveries?
Empire of the Dead or something like that?

Maybe.
They did have another Kickstarter in the form of their 15mm War & Empire ancient warfare miniatures game.

So...
July Update: the Best Laid Plans...

Hello all you lovely backers. Welcome to July at the Grindhouse!
If you have been following the comments section, you know that we are still coordinating with Panda and awaiting performance from their 3rd party plastics factory. We have finally been able to give the all-clear to create the steel dies that will be used to produce the miniatures. Alas, it appears that unbeknownst to us, the plastics factory was waiting for 100% acceptance of every single miniature before any work began at all. Since we have at last crossed this heretofore invisible threshold, the plastic trays that hold all the miniatures can now be sized, allowing Panda to do an unprinted mockup of all the boxes and their components. When this has happened, we can size the box art to their specifications and production on paper components will begin. Michael at Panda is estimating that the production will be complete on or around September 20th.
When production is complete, we suffer through the international shipment process to us. In our experience of doing two print runs of the previous edition in China, the cargo can often sit in a container awaiting departure for as much as a month, followed by 4-6 weeks of transit. Assuming the ship isn't taken by pirates (:-)), US customs and transit to us in Georgetown, Texas will take up another 1 to 4 weeks.
At this point, things are FINALLY, after all this time, in our control. This would be the first point in the entire process that we can meaningfully affect the delivery date to you. Assuming the product is not deficient (shinkwrapped in humid conditions, issues at sea, etc.), we'll be ready at last to do what we do best: expedite shipment to you, the end user.
John and I have decided to handle all the packing for all orders globally in-house. Given how tight the budget is, it will be a friends and family operation just like the previous editions/prints. Me and my kids will drive up to Georgetown from San Antonio where John, Marina, Rio, and some of the local cats like Miguel will pack like fiends for as long as it takes. We may hire some temps, we may not. EU orders will be packed first. These EU orders will then be shipped via cargo container to West Wind in England for dispersal to the EU. We'll then hit the USA and non-EU orders. I expect that this will take us no more that 2 weeks. My brother and I shipped about 400 individual preorders of Incursion 1st ed. with various metal add-ons and so forth in 24 hours. This is obviously a more complex operation by far.
Europe: you demanded we serve you from within the EU. We are doing so. Alas, the print run is so small that we cannot do split shipment from the manufacturer so you will get your stuff 1 to 2 months after the rest of the world. That is entirely unavoidable at this point.
John and I apologize for the seemingly endless series of updates that don't say much regarding delivery of the final boxed products. We're clearly at the mercy of forces outside our immediate control. It is apparent that this process is in its relative infancy but that we are making substantive progress. Thank you all in retrospect for your patience and in advance for your acceptance of the realities under which we are forced to labor.
This thing is going to be fething awesome. Just hang tough, my brothers.
Jim (and John)
ps: we're working to get the old print and play version of the game uploaded to BGG along with the "Assets" booklet. :-)
