Yeah,
If the molds are made and the production kinks worked out.
Funding aside, It should just be a case of pressing print for a second run.

It would be crazy not to once the world of gamers see the grind house KS fruit in the wild I expect the demand will be very real.

The waiting has had my excitement roller coaster.
But with my incursion and AVP pledges happening 2015 could have the best Q1 ever!

Panic.

Funding a print run and the shipping of the product is a big deal though. I'm not sure how much demand there would be, a lot of folks who wanted the game ordered it via the KS. Even if two times the folks who got it from the KS decide they want the game, would they be willing to pay enough up front to allow Jim and crew to fund another print run AND turn a profit that makes it worth while (my understanding is the KS is not making them much money). Having 2-5K copies printed, and then having to warehouse them until they sell would not be cheap, and the first version was sold by Jim at a considerable discount (I think about 50% off) as he tried to unload extra copies.

We'll see, I love the game and hope it does well, but Weird World War Space Hulk with Nazi Chicks is gonna be a niche product.

yeah,
I see what your saying.
However once they have the first run out, I feel this is as hot as the iron is ever going to be for WW2 tactical zombie smashing games!

The product could be 'available now' with glorious miniatures.

Existing players gaming, blogging with minis.
Galleries appearing of painted models, conversions. custom missions.

Who doesn't want a slice of that?

It's a very different thing to
1) Game with chits and card board standies
2) a KS preorder

Funding...
If the bank says no, I guess they could always give it some time and then run Incurrsion Season 2
New add on missions.
Access to season 1 for those who missed it.

Experience with the Current KS will have taught them lessons regarding profit lines, production, over extending!

Panic...

It is the production that will kill them though. It seems difficult to get the small runs needed scheduled. If they ditch Panda, they likely incur more set up costs for whomever they do use, and have to go through much of the process again when it comes to proofing for registration/color density/finish and so on.

To make it 'available now' you do have to get the print run funded, completed, packed/shipped and have storage for it. Jim will also have to decide to self distribute or go through another distributor and maybe get the game available to retailers. Doing so cuts into profit again, and could incur costs in the form of mandatory stocking/print numbers and so on.

Lets face it, the KS probably sold under 1200 copies (assuming some folks got multiples and he had some excess printed). Using AvP from Prodos as an example, they are going with a 5k print run (and hoping to sell the copies not bought via the KS and preorders post-KS).

Funding then warehousing something near that amount is a big deal. Going with much smaller runs would possibly force Jim to charge a pretty high price per copy because he loses the per unit savings of the bigger print run.

Hey gang,

No plastics yet. From what I understand, all the printed stuff is sitting there awaiting plastic.Panda is putting pressure on the plastics guys. Maybe they ought to let me take a crack at 'em!! I've been speaking directly with Michael and he is obviously very concerned. He understands that this has gone on waaaay too long. Panda has declined to issue a statement at this point in favor of the time when the games ship.

Though it's not doing me and John any favors, Panda is throwing in a dice bag for every backer. I think this is a nice gesture to you all on their behalf. It'll be 4x6 with the Incursion logo on a black bag. What follows are images of the logo Dave worked up (with the classic skull) and a sample image of the type of bag.

That's all for now. More as soon as I know it!

Jim

So do we think this will be in hand by Christmas?

Yes, of course!

But I wouldn't expect to see anything until June at the earliest.

Yeah,
So my AVP pledge is delayed because they have the miniatures but no Game components.
And my incursion pledge is delayed because they have the game components but no miniatures...

I'm disappointed by the delays by both companies, I have over £500 invested in these...
I do think they will finish, For me it's like a race to see which one completes first!

Absolutely 100% guarantee we'll have them by Christmas.

Not sure which year though.

I agree that Incursion is suffering a lot from manufacturing woes, I suspect nothaving the clout of a big name or big money is holding this back a little.

However. it will be delivered and kudos to Grinfhouse that they have not stuck their head in the sand and ignored their backers, they keep us up to date even if it is bad news.

Crawling forward...

Update #54

Well, it seems as if things are finally moving along. Panda has all the plastics and began final collation of components in preparation for shipping about a week ago. We have been discussing the logistics of accepting a 40 foot cargo container and ironing out the details. I have no idea how long it will take to get everything to us. With CNY imminent, I can't reasonably expect that we will get the shipment delivered to us until at least April but I remain hopefully pessimistic :-)

Thanks for taking this journey with us. It's been quite a ride! Still not sure when it will end, but end it will.

Update #56

Container at sea!

OK, wow. So I emailed Michael and Andrew with my usual "what's up?" expecting bad news or no news. Much to my surprise, despite the fact that I had not been given a final invoice, the order was completed, packed, put on a container, onto a ship, and the ship has sailed! We chose Houston as point of entry though it's much more expensive because of all the West Coast nonsense that's going on. Estimated arrival in Houston: March 13.

Please remember that anything can happen, still. Delays at dock and transfer warehouse, customs delays (last time it was a month), and ....pirates!!! I don't realistically expect them to be actually in our hands until April but I'll stay hopeful. After that, we start shipping. 1000 orders is going to take awhile. The EU stuff is particularly challenging because we have to pack the rewards up and address them, then bulk freight them to Manchester UK where West Wind will disburse.

Have asked Andrew what ship it's on but doubt we'll get that info.

Guess I better go open that box I got with the final production copies...

Very glad to see this one made it on the ship before CNY. This is one of the few super-late KS's where neither my patience nor enthusiasm have waned over time. My only (slight) fear is that Jim seemed so beaten down dealing with Panda in the videos, that some of the plastics may fall into the "feth it, good enough" category.

I've got similar fears - I've been waiting for Secrets of the Third Reich 2 to be released to give that system a real shot in the arm and get a true Weird War II tabletop game front and center again...

I was hoping INCURSION would get the Grindhouse guys AND West Wind all fired up for SoTR2.

Now?

Who knows!

I thought the Mecha looked a little that way myself. Soft details on the gun barrel and muzzle brake. With the lack of pictures of finished production models I'm assuming it will all all have very average quality, and if it's any better, I'll be pleasantly surprised.

Jim got pretty defensive when I brought up the soft detail, as did a few others.

I'm just glad it will get delivered some what soon. Once it gets here I'm not sure if I'll be selling it on or keeping it at this point. I'm moving to a much smaller place this summer, and don't want to haul around stuff I'm not going to use. Unfortunately at this point Incursion will likely fall into that category.

At this point I think I'll just be happy to get the game in hand. I'll treat the figures like the Boardgame figures that they're going to be rather than the high quality miniatures promised originally. At least we know Incursion is a good game so a Sedition Wars or MYTH scenario isn't in the pipeline.

What does that mean? that he didn't bother to open the final production check copy?
So he doesn't know if the final production is correct? did they correct the bases and the print materials?

I just checked the updates comments.

I wonder about the other issues?

I know some models had incorrectly sized bases?
My memorys fussy but I think there were assembly issues.

As previously noted, he also seems to maybe have a blind spot and/or is touchy on the subject of miniature details or lack there of?

To be fair I think Jim was up for another roumd with Panda and this caught him on the hop a little.

He has not posted a full update but within the comments he confirms that the issues he had, have been addressed, the boards are matte finish, cards are of the requested quality, the bases on the offending drop troopers/bomber zombie have been enlarged. So all things considered it looks really optimistic.

From the earlier vids the figures might not have the crispness of the metals but it is a trade off - the cost of an all metal set would be? - and these did look like they were on par or better then the Gears of War figures which themselves were nice sculpts

Bottom line/disclaimer Incursion has always been one of my favourite games over the last few years and this breathes new life (is that a pun) into it. The big bonus I do not to worry (too much) over my APES being dropped and exploding into several pieces accross the room any more

One thing I really wish he would have done (and did suggest during the campaign) was resize the bazooka, or the rocket (or both) on the bazooka ape. As sculpted the darned rocket would never fit into the bazooka pipe. It bothered me on the metal version and this was a great (and missed) opportunity to fix it.

Wow. That's just...

I mean. I've got 2 boxes of DZ from Mantic sitting here unopened along with one from RH, because of Kickstarter fatigue and being too tired from my regular job to try and deal with KS QA, but I'm also not responsible to almost 1000 backers and over $200k from them...
