Hopefully a veteran painter on here can help me out, I'm trying to paint some models to match an army I painted a few years ago. As such, I'm trying to find the closest current match for the old, old Citadel paint "Jungle Green":



The Coat d'Arms paint of the same name doesn't appear to be the same colour (going purely by visuals online). The trouble with not having a FLGS or GW nearby is that I can't eyeball paints before purchase, I'd appreciate it if someone could give me a pointer before I have to order every dark green that Wayland sell...

After a quick google search, I've found this site with a model using CDA's jungle green. Might be able to give you a better idea of its shade. FWIW, with the new citadel range I suggest trying out Caliban green. I have a pot of this and it is *supposed* to be a DA green replacement. Is it ! It may, however be a match for jungle green.

Is Caliban green lighter than DA green then? Have to admit I've not been in a GW since before the new paints came in, so I can only go on what GW's chart says. My Jungle Green is a shade or two lighter than my DA Green, so if that sounds about right it's definitely worth investigating.

It is. I've just remembered, another good colour to try (that is sadly OOP, but may be easier to track down) is Catachan green.

To add my 2p, the catachan green looks kinda like the new castalan(?)green. which is which colour on the da marines, the rhs one looks metalic.

You might have a better result looking at the Vallejo model color line. These are more geared towards historical minis. I bet you can find a jungle green that will be a pretty darn close match.

To follow up on this, depending on where you're located in the UK, Boyes sell the Vallejo model colour range; so you can eyeball them IRL.
