Just as the title says, I would love to use their line of models for my Imperial guard army i am getting ready to do. I ahve searched (maybe not hard enough) and was wondering....Is only their Leviathan available for purchase..or is tier line of troops on the market yet?

The dreamforge stuff is great. The first wave of the kickstarter has finished, the second should be done soon(tm). The third is still a ways off. Wave 3 has the command squad and female troopers, along with the heavy troopers. But you can get started with the riflemen and heavy weapons at least ; ) If you get the accessory sprues you get a lot of extra customization too.

If all you do is play with friends then the dreamforge stuff is the perfect stand-in for your imperial guard needs...the troops look, in my opinion, better, and you can get almost twice as many if you buy smart.

Spikeybits has them out for reduced prices... Has anyone bought a box yet? How to the bases compare the 40K bases? Will I need to get GW bases to make them legal? These would also make bad chaos cultitsts!

The bases are pretty close to GW ones though the height is different. The models are amazing!

Hehhhhhhhhh that APC.... It better be no more than $40, because rommel's half track with heels and a covered cabin looks like that.

During the KS, the thing was scaled so that 12 minis would realistically fit inside it. I think it's been reduced a little since then, but not sure by how much. I imagine the one you're referring to isn't quite as large.

suddenly i'm not as fond of the vehicle any-more. I can't actually put my finger on it, but it's definately more than just it's mass.

Having just bought a load of Hanomags for my traitor guard, that APC would look great for the more specialized squads.

I think I may need to be left alone for a while with those picture.

I like the dreamforge troops but that apc is horrible! I think I'd still have a chimera over that.

Will definitely be adding some of their troopers to my IG, maybe use them as veteran squads.

Aha, i've got it: The surfaces on the front and sides are too vacant. They could have extended the wheel-wells on the sides and incorporated stowage compartments, added a series of ladders/steps around the entirety of the vehicle, as well as an armored air intake on the front, or, at the very least, rivets or SOMETHING. The complete lack of detail keeps drawing my eyes in, and then looks terrible compared against everything that has all that detail. Maybe at least a set of tools, shovels and axes attached to the rear wheel-wells. The ISW also looks awkward at the back, which may be contributory to why the front looks so bland compared against the back.

The front grill has been commented on before. The general consensus from what I read is that most think there should be some sort of air intake. I think as long as there is tools or stowage that are optional, it will help out the kit.

Just finished a second round of looking back and fortH between the sdlfz variants and this thing. The problems I pointed out are not actually it. The front half is too long, and imagining this entire thing with a shortened hood solves the problem completely. That or an extra set of wheels... Compare the. Sdkfz half tracks and you should see what i see.

I completely rescind my remarks about adding any detail to the front of the vehicle, as well as stowage. My remarks abut adding a shovel, an axe, tow rope, and a tire jack......... Etc, remains. Here's to hoping the conversion is easy, and that there is a gear sprue.

And, also, in addition to, furthermore, I'm thinking about how to integrate one of the workhorse nits into this as well. It would be really cool if the workhorse attached externally as part of the crews equipment. It'dbe cool if the mule had 2 guns on it that detached from the vehicle, followed the squad from the vehicle and set up as a heavy weapon unit...

It's worth pointing out that the design isn't finished yet. I'm happy with how it is but if Mark can improve it some more I"m all for it. The size of the front seems fine to me though, gives it the impression of having a lot of power, suitable for carrying sie germans to war on alien worlds ; p AN air intake could look good, but it's also a huge weak point for a combat vehicle you'd imagine.

....WHAT? I understood this was done already. The engine is way too big. That kind of engine would go on a flat bed Truck with another tow behind it to carry 3 pieces of armor around. The engine is just way too big. The air intake vents, while a point of weakness, can be mitigated, I mean, a lot of tanks had the topside of their engine "exposed" (wire mesh) to help with cooling it, and because there's hardly anything that can hit it from that angle.

For those who haven't read the fluff, the APC uses the same iron core engine that is on the Leviathans. That's one reason for the size. They're also not air cooled, IIRC, so air intakes would have little purpose.

Nice info, thanks. That makes me even happier about the size and lack of air cooling. I can understand it not being to someones taste, but I love it.

...WHAT? I understood this was done already.

It's not "done" until it's been sent to be tooled - and that's not until near the end of wave 3 I think, with wave 2 not yet finished. Yes, he has a design for it. Yes, it might receive no further changes. It's highly unlikely that it won't be changed at all from now until it gets tooled.

Yep, pretty much this..

From an esthetic point, I do not expect to make everyone happy, but happy to listen to feedback. Unless something changes, the flat front nose is a separate part, so easy to change/customize.

The APC is larger than you would want (presents a large target) because it used a reactor instead of the capacitors found on light walkers and smaller vehicles. This vehicle was meant to be your front line unit, deep penetration on a planetary scale with little need for logistics support. It was meant to be very heavily armored (think tank) with unlimited range.

This vehicle uses the reactor as a charging point for all smaller lighter vehicles that use the capacitors. I came at the design from the standpoint of the logistics of planetary conquest. What happens if you cannot land support troops or supplies after your initial thrust? Is it worth having a larger profile in order to have a unit that acts as a logistics supply point for lighter vehicles and troops?

The Eisenkern Stormtroopers, although not powered armor (as in fully encased carapace) are power assist, the ‘Dune’ like under suits worn under the carapace use filaments that expand and contract and give the user a strength and stamina gain. The heavy troopers are your more conventional power armor, both need recharging of their suits to continue operation.

I would imagine that the Eisenkern would drop a few supply variants, a command variant and a few heavy support variants along with the standard troop transport to act as a battle group and support the heavies (Leviathans) as well as act an logistics for the light walkers and tanks so that they can ‘top off’ for extended operations. These are the work horse of the Eisenkern forces, multi role and reliable, at least that is my vision how they fit into force org.

^^ The man.

Side note, Mark updated us recently here. Wave 2 is almost complete, with the bigger items heading to the US very soon by sea, with others to join them by air freight, probably arriving before the sea freight. So APCs in wave 3 are getting closer.
