The conversion looks really good, but I also agree that it doesn't look like a Marine. As an aside, I think that she would look in a Necromunda Escher gang. You could extrapolate this to a very count-as Imperial Guard army (a Necromunda PDF kind of army). I've thought about doing this kind of thing with both Squats and a huge Necromunda gang, simply hand-waving bolters and autoguns away as lasguns (not unlike how Lost and the Damned armies had all varieties of firearms with one stat line).
For those who care, here's my two cents on female Marines (in general). Space Marines are sexless warrior monks. Their bodies are augmented and reshaped to perpetuate violence. Like female body builders, there would be nothing feminine about a female Space Marine. What's more likely is that they would have very small peck-breasts, rather than the power racks we tend to see in conversions. Their faces may have a vaguely feminine appearance, but this would likely be the only tell since any other features would be covered by the armor. Taking this thought to comical proportions, I sometimes joke that females in 40k tend to be really butch and unfeminine anyways, so it's possible that we already have female Space Marines but no one has noticed yet.

Thank you dor the compliment
I know i know, the fluff totally does not support the concept. and I'm pretty ok with that. But I like to try anyway. besides my SM army is a merc army. So they pull in aliens of all different kinds to fight with them. My female SM are basically demon hunting women with advanced tech comparable to a space marine. If you look a the stats...really sm are barely better than IG but with better armor saves.

oooh those shoulder plates would work nicely. I think i need me a set
Now all I need is some kind of jet pack and I can make my angels of vengeance a jump squad
any idea for mech wings?

Just a simple Query:
Has anyone ever considered simply sticking a Female head on a Space Marine body?
My reasoning behind it is this:
Look at Female body builders, they lose their *chest area* pretty much and look rather manly anyway yet some still retain a certain level of beauty.
My point being the same would probably happen with a normal woman enhanced to be a space marine so they would probably fit into the same armour,
or armour of the same size which has simiply been made/altered to fit their shape like with every other space marine as each power armour set is tailored to suit:
E.g. from the Tome of Fire series it is stated that Ba'Ken is larger than Dak'Ir, "Dak'Ir nodded to the armoured Salamander ... The mighty warrior, almost two heads taller than him ... 'Ba'Ken'."
Anyone see a problem?

For wings you could go with Sang.Guard jump wings or if you want something a little different have a look at the wing-things on the DA Ravenwing Upgrade/Command sprues.
There's plenty of other options where that's concerned especially if you're fine with using 3rd party bitz.

Calling them 'Angels of Vengeance' might not be the best idea for avoiding nerd-rage; thats already an official, documented successor chapter for the Dark Angels.
That said, if you can pull off a nice enough set of models you might get passed it with rule of cool on your side

I did not realize there was already a angels of vengeance in effect. Good to know
So going back and forth on this. I tried another approach. as opposed to making them super slim eldar like girls, I tried this instead.
Behold a Daughter of Fenris (wolf scout). I figured girls can wear fatigues and what not and look hardcore. And they work as scouts really well.
So what do you guys like better?

i see absolutely no problem with any of that..and tbh if i was trying to be realistic at all....I'd just call some nromal space marines female space marines and call it a day. They would wear the same armor. However I'm trying to actually make a feminine looking miniature to field with my army and have people tell me that im a horrible person for daring to come up with such a thing. and then compliment me on it at least looking decent.

I like the scout legs better for an imperial army. Those long and slender legs don't give the impresion of a combar hardened army like the scout legs does. And i personally would also armor up her belly to give them at least somewhat of an armored look.
Another advantage is that you can use the scout arms from all the scout boxes you need.

Freak out Forum fobs for the fabled fair female of space marines is upon yee. Witness in horror or happiness my mostly completed squad of
WOLF SISTERS!!!!
check it out.....I even have appropriate fluff for them. So...Space wolves some times go into the fenrisian camps and enjoy some "time" with the ladies(seriously its in the codex). Occasionally one of these woman will give birth to a daughter that inherited some of there .....genes. These woman are stronger faster and tougher than any one else. For some reason the Astartes genes are only passed down to woman. My Army (the black hand Mercenaries) learned of these woman and have recruited them as scouts where they strive to one day prove themselves as worthy of thier space wolf heritage.
LET THE HATE FLY!!!!
or compliments/thought/critiques etc etc
I just want to know what you think of the conversions.
also ...color scheme....thoughts?

Have you thought about simply using space marine chests that you bulk out to have a chest front? not sure if its been said before, only just scimmed the thread. They look really really good though, just too guard like. Although saying that, I am actually quite liking the current chest pieces, slightly skimpy, but perhaps you could go with the fluff being that these female marines unlike normal marines have been bodily enhanced for speed and agile, they wear less protective armour but are so damn quick they are hard to hit.
You could mix in some with the current chest, some with space amrine chests but given boobs to get a more mixed/renegade look?

If I was gonna do that I'd just put a female head on normal marine armor and say that she encased in a shell so that the boobs wouldn't really show. Also it was done by another guy on here...thunderbolt..or something (cant member his user name) and it was pretty weird looking. Sorta defeats my whole "feminine looking marine" I'm trying to achieve. It's been recommended and I may still do it as a female squad leader or what not.

Barbie eldar wraithknight? ahahah that would be cool!
Fair enough counter arguement Have you thought about perhaps making resin bodies? obviously thats a fair effort, but you then could create the exact size you'd like as a base with GS as the finer details. but that is a far out length just for a torso. Perhaps the torsos you have you could GS them to make the vest tops look slightly more plate like? Like the edlar currently, but bigger. its a real shame some company doesn't produce these torsos already! ----> INC BUSINESS VENTURE!

btldoomhammer wrote: On backstory: I've seen some tries of creating the backstory for a female loaylists marine chapter as i planed out my own female army. Corruted/changed gene seed, technology from before the heresy that allows female astartes, one of the missing primarchs ... non really fits. The only one that i found remotely accepteable was a chaos influenced chapter that beat of the corruption but was changed during it, similar to theSoul Drinkers. The funny thing was that the models where standard marines and all had helmets because they couldn't show their faces or the inquisition would hunt them down as heretics. Nearly non of the models where remotely female. There a two ways of explaining female marines that might induce less nerd rage. 1) Don't even try to explain it. Just say: "I'm silly." and leave it there. This works best if your conversion is actually good enough to stand on it's own 2) "Chaos did it." So this is one thing to consider for your army plan: Can you ignore the nerdrage that female loyalist marines will probably induce and still have fun building your army? If yes? Then go with it. Alternatively there is SoB or female CSM like i did that is more accepted. Or why not chaos SoB? (If i had my current conversion and sculpting skills then as i started warhammer i'd probably had a chaos SoB army folloing Khorne now. ) nerd rage ruins everything. I actually see the circumstances around the imperium quite convenient for why there are no female SM. I'm of the interpretation that all that talk of only men being able to accept it is crap. Fine, it needs the y chromosome, but we're learning that mutations are possible where the y chromosome can appear in women. Also, it's the future--IN SPACE!--so if we are really going to allow the warp to exist, there's no reason to deny the permission of mutant women, that are in all ways women, except they have that essential y chromosome required for spacemarineification. The lords of terra kad a kerfuffle with the emperor, and decided they really didn't want to become obsolete by allowing space marines to become, essentially, the next generation of human, so instead the lords of terra are responsible for the suppression of the possibility of female space marines. I see the same analogue with psykers, the difference being a degree of acceptability: subjugate, use until burned out, dead and dry, and then leave to rot, get the next haul. Psykers can be controlled. A next-generation of post-humans that don't need their human counter-parts? Kindof scary, and the imperium may have decided to step in to stop that, but may have let some things slip through the cracks as any bureaucracy will. Not to mention, once you count up all of the legions that did end up dabbling with cloning, who knows where the accidents occurred, and what came out the other end was the same thing that went into it with a single X chromosome horribly wounded. as to the wolf sisters.... you're really pushing the limits of acceptability by letting them carry tau rilfes like that.

I'm of the agreement that a female marine in the super unrealistic world of warhammer (psychic spirits that live in tanks?) is not really that insane. Im glad most people who comment seem to agree
Those are tau rifles?....I learn something new everyday. I have 0 experience with tau so i had just bought a bunch of arms that fit the torso's I had gotten from zealot minis. I really like the smaller sleeker design. i suppose since my space marines are a mercenary army they use what they can. Game wise there just count as scout bolters...I'm not trying to use them as tau guns or anything. Do you like the conversions besides that?

I like the conversions, except for the scout guns. With a scope they might pass as sniper rifles, which makes the poses a bit awkward... in any case, I'm going to quote Chromedog from this thread: chromedog wrote:"Imperial" in this case means "as aerodynamic as a brick" and as subtle as a brick to the face. http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/quote/0/6245122.page in any case, remember that not everyone is going to like everything you do. As a Space Wolves player I think the female scouts look awesome.
Still undecided on female marines and he part about space woles mating females is a reference to Lukas the Trickster who famously bedded 12 women in 1 night (but whether this was before he was chosen for the volka fenryka we do not know)
Where I think they would fit is from reading Battle of the Fang where one of the main mortal characters is a female, and isa leader of men. 1 of the many troops the Space Wolves keep around to defend the place when they go gallivanting off into the sea of stars.
You could do all female scouts as representation of her... Elite female troopers who ferociously guard the homes and hearths of the mighty Wolves... Am I going way off topic??
Anyway your models look awesome.
Or you could run them as a vanilla marine army which uses scouts as troops, tanks for heavies, scout land speeders for fast attack

If a female was genetically engineered like Space Marines they would look just like space marines with somewhat female looking faces.
Ever seen a female body builder? No boobs. So take a space marine remove the helmet and slap on a female head that looks like a german female athlete from the 1984 olympics, and run with it.
In fact you could pretty much just take a male space marine head, add a pony tail, and some lipstick and call it good. lol

Cool idea, Scouts in the Space wolves codex are an elite choice not a troop choice like in the vanilla codex.
SW scouts get a better BS and WS plus the rules for being sneaky, but they dont get landspeeder storms or bikes like vanilla scouts do.
Hmmm, Hawwwt biker grrrlll mahreeens... That could be a fun challenge for you to test your mad modelling skillz
