Go sqd ones their only $3.5 I think. The problem is the ones your talking come 1 to a box and are more in demand thus the cost. A lot of my competetitors charged $13.50 each for them. Its still a heck of a lot cheaper then buying multiple boxes remember.if you really want them cheaper then I would recommend the membership as you can't beat that deal.
Too bad that's out of stock But I was hoping to avoid the scout ones due to them being scout arms... but ya can't beat price

Listen, my children, as I pass onto you the truth behind Willy Wonka and his factory. For every wonka bar ever created in existance, Mr. Wonka sacraficed a single Oompa Loompa to the god of chocolate, Hearshys. Then, he drank the blood of the fallen orange men because he fed them a constant supply of sugary chocolate so they all became diabetic and had creamy, sweet-tasting blood that willy could put into each and every Wonka bar. That is the REAL story behind willy wonka's Slaughter House! |

I see. I'm not familiar at all with Fantasy, so I have no idea how popular those are and how much demand for bitzing those kits out would be.

Meltaguns and plasmaguns are dirt cheap from GW yet a lot of people in these threads say this is a popular bitz item from 3rd parties, I am left wondering why.
As far as missile launchers go, it is a simple tube and I am surprised people would pay $10 for one. This is something that could be made with styrene tubes and rectangles.
If there really is a demand for bitz, someone will fill it, if not then some people will be inconveinced and others will find a way to make conversions the old fashioned way, with plasticard, greenstuff and other items.

I tried the simple tube approach... my "straw" missile launchers didn't go over well, the marine missile launchers allow me to avoid the hassle of producing something crappy.

Aside from the fact that a lot of people either don't know that GW sell them, or won't order from GW's online store, they're 'Fine'cast, and for most of the world are no cheaper than the plastic ones through most bits sellers.

They're also a pain in the ass to convert to IG.
Well, the metal ones are, anyway.

Well I am not saying that you should just use a simple tube but if you have some variety of plastruct materials you can add to the tubes and make them as complex as you like. If you make a crappy conversion then people wont like it, I am just saying that I can hardly think of an easier thing to scratchbuild than a missile launcher. If you put nearly zero effort into it, then yeah you fail.
The plasma guns and melta guns from GW, can be obtained from your stockist because that is where I bought mine, they are about 2 dollars each, 5 pack for 10 bucks, which is way cheaper than the prices people have mentioned in various bit threads. Someone said they were hard to apply to IG which just boggles my mind. All you need is a sharp knife for either the metal or resin ones.

Most of the plasma and melta guns I've come across from bits sellers have been $2 or less. Fairly sure I used to sell them for $2 each, although I would have to check the store records to be sure... they've been out for a while.
In Oz, the GW pack is $17, which is considerably more expensive. And 'Fine'cast.

Well, except most places don't carry "direct" stuff anymore. And then once you get them, you need to find an appropriate arm to attach them to. And then you might need to pin the metal of the gun to the tiny IG guy hand. And then you might need to repeat this 12 times.
I'm not saying it's impossible. I'm saying it's more difficult than "plastic IG arm + plastic IG arm".

Thanks for saying I fail(ed) The straw was because I was out of missile launchers, I needed more and I had been in the HHHobby for less than a month . Stopped playing Space Wolves when people were accusing me of being a cheesy bandwagoner and so I picked up Ultramarines and didn't have a need for straw missiles anymore.
While people can prefer to spend their time crafting and constructing an awesome missile launcher conversion, my time is precious enough as it to fiddle with a skill I'm already terrible at when I could spend a few dollars, something I have a little extra of...

First of all a metal or failcast melta/plasma gun is not heavy enough that you need to pin it. Any arm that is basically "L" shaped will accommodate those weapons. You just need to make a couple of snips with an x-acto or razor knife. It doesnt even sound like you are speaking from experience honestly. If you cant get a melta gun on an IG model, I geuss I am at a loss how you can assemble anything. Skeleton arms are much smaller than IG cadian arms and I could put weapons on those blindfolded. Its not impossible, its not even remotely difficult, a cheese sandwich is harder to make, even if the cheese has already been sliced for you.

Well, for whatever it's worth, I am speaking from experience. Long as we're judging each other, you don't sound like anyone who's ever dropped a miniature. Or had anyone else drop your miniature. Or put your miniatures in a foam case and then transported it. Honestly.
I usually like to use the flamer arms. I find myself uncomfortable with the small amount of surface area that is provided from the hands to provide a solid bonding point between the hand and the gun itself. I also like to greenstuff a replacement buckle on top of the shoulder strap. Or, rather, that's how it would go if I'd ever actually done any of that, but as you've cleverly analyzed, I don't actually even play this game, and spend most of my day moaning about hypotheticals.
Personally, I'm happy you find the process to be so effortless.

It's because of the CHS case that GW put this new policy in place. When the new terms came out a couple months ago, it came with a long list of reasons why, which ultimately boil down to GW wanting to make sure people knew they were buying Genuine Games Workshop Products™, because only Genuine Games Workshop Products™ meet the high standards of quality that Games Workshop is known for, and no other company can possibly hope to produce a product that is as perfectly cast as a Genuine Games Workshop Product™.

I've been using the metal meltas for a while with my guard and it is pretty much a snap on plastic IG arms. Apply glue, put on hand. Wait a minute. Voila!
Occasionally, I have to snip stocks off the melta (and you always have to cut the hand off) or trim a bit of weapon off the IG arm but they work great.

He did say, "they have 99% of their inventory in stock." They just don't have the parts of inventory you want. Though if you contact that, I'm sure they'd have no issues getting what you need. I know that they were recently moving states, and so stock numbers on the site might not reflect actual numbers, but idk

on another note:
after 3 successful buys from a bits store on flea bay.. didnt have much choice couldnt get what i needed anywhere else
i do a buy it now for a war walker weapon mount just a single.. pay for it blah blah.. 11 days later its not here even coming form the UK 11 days for a letter is a bit much.. contacted the seller.. they promptly refunded the purchase.. i took that with a grain of salt and didnt kill them on feedback there was no reason
then 2 days later the exact part was on flea bay again for a higher price...
emailed the seller and thanked them for the refund and asked why they relisted the same item 2 days later...their reply..." we got some more stock in....." now if they got more stock in they would have listed the other side of the mount at the same time..checked other auctions they had mailing issues with and found 75% of what they didnt mail out they re listed at higher prices
emailed them back and asked them for proof of mailing as a gesture of good will and id continue to buy from them..their reply.....""""You are now on our blocked bidder list anyway,""""
My reply back was simple... id let others know about their shady activities...got a final reply from them
"""All publicity is good publicity"""".....and then they added this...."""""Only in your deluded mind would you think i care."""""
anyways....there are quite a few bitz sellers on flea bay but id avoid the the-bitz-store simply from the standpoint you never kow if they are going to send you your purchase.. youll get your money back they do refund a lot of people but you may not get your parts
now hoard-o-bits and bits world are 2 solid bits sellers if you need parts
Thanks
