I can't believe this is MDF! You are amazing!!
Will the worm be available soon? One small suggestion on it- if the two spinning gears on the same axle weren't the same size, it might look cooler. Ie two small ones outside one large one, rather than two small ones outside two identical large ones.
I have access to a laser cutter, but it's not the tool, it's the designer! Again amazing work

Theophony wrote: HisDivineShadow wrote:I don't see why the shipping is such an issue. I saw someone mention their last shipping was around 20$?
That's entirely feasible. Its from Australia...
It just means I'll buy a bit more when I purchase.
Unfortunately money is tight, also I'd like to see how it looks in hand, and try out the build before buying lots of them. So I old buy one initially and the shipping is almost the same cost as the model. It also would put a counts as model at the same price (close to) as the GW equivalent, more so since I'd buy it from a discounter. It just wouldn't make sense.
Best option would be for them to get a partner here in the U.S. and one in Europe, they can share files and produce together. Even if its him paying one of the other companies to produce and distribute it would be cheaper than the shipping.
Unfortunately, this is not the best option. It effectively adds an additional middleman, and dilutes profits further on an already marginal product. There will be a discounted postage option shortly, we are working on it.
The really silly thing is one of perception. For example, if we were to simply give a rolling discount, you know, spend $100 and get 10% off, $200 and 20% off, etc, but keep the postage the same, this has the effect of making postage seem even more expensive in comparison to amount spent. If we instead discount the postage by a comparable amount and keep the product cost the same, you save the same amount of $, but the end result is more pleasing. Go figure.
Anhoo, WORKING ON IT.

If the product is marginal, isn't it then maybe an idea (and more importantly: a possibility?) to try to broaden up your target audience?
I know a few CNC and laser cutter companies here in Rotterdam. It might dilute the profits somewhat, but if you have a broader market (and thus sell a lot more), your profits could go up, right?

Just a sketch at the moment, and it will depend on sales of the TRV as to weather or not it gets produced.

So, he should take a hit to his (marginal) profits so you can get it for the same price as it would cost you to buy it from him?
Adding a middleman isn't going to make it any cheaper.
Here is an idea - raise the price and say it includes free shipping.
That should shut those wrong hemispherians up.
Just imagine the complaining we would hear if they had to pay what we do for things that don't even need shipping, like digital files!

Damnit man, I was already planning on purchasing five or so. Now I'll have to get some of these as well. Especially for a Vindicator and the new AA rhino variants to be covered.....

If you've ever done international outsourcing to a laser etcher, you'd know there are ways to make it work. The goal is not to get it cheaper than it can be for someone living right next to the manufacturer. The goal is to reduce barriers to purchasing while maintaining your margins.
Here is an idea - raise the price and say it includes free shipping.
That should shut those wrong hemispherians up.
And if it pushes the price up into levels that people are no longer interested, they'll shut up. And go away and buy something else.
Just imagine the complaining we would hear if they had to pay what we do for things that don't even need shipping, like digital files!
We do. Not as bad as Australia, but there's still quite a bit of "screw Canada" pricing going on. the EU also has different pricing. The ability to do this was the point of regionalization going back to the early DVD days. If you are a regular purchaser of online content, you may want to consider a VPN service so you can change the nationality of your IP address.

Balance in pick up games? Two people, each with their own goals for the game, design half a board game on their own without knowing the layout of the board and hope it all works out. Good luck with that. The faster you can find like minded individuals who want the same things from the game as you, the better. |

Love the heavy! But wheeled heavies just don't quite look right to me (the Centauro notwithstanding). Any chance you could make a variant that had a track and road wheels connecting the wheels of the existing model?
But great stuff, and I certainly understand if tracks just don't meet you aesthetic.

Now with moar details and additional wheels. One can never have too many wheels. (done to help fix the "wheeled tanks always look a bit odd" effect).
Still haven't done anything creative with the outrigger weapons. Will get onto that.

I like everything about the design, but I feel the double front wheel seems to make it feel less...Agile, so to speak, the dually wheels in the back are awesome, just like the single fronts, my opinion of course, awesome stuff...will have to budget for a 5-6 of these beauties.

The heavy is beautiful. Now I seriously want to see Vindicator and AA variants.
How do you estimate the added cost on the heavy so far? And the rods on the ...mini gun style weapons..are those supply your own ? I can't see them being done in MDF.

It almost feels weird to say this, but can you please stop making so much awesome stuff? At some point I will want to place my order, and I don't want to have to order again a week later after you make more awesome stuff. And again a week after that.
But, loving the latest look on that heavy. Given the limitations of working with MDF, I suspect a long cannon barrel is not possible (I'm guessing the minigun barrels in the picture would actually be plastic rod on the final model). But, how about a railgun style of weapon? That could be easily made with flat surfaces.

Also, for those who are not sure on the wheels...maybe make a separate side piece so they can build it without.
Personally, I love this thing.
