They e-mailed a poll to all of their past participants. The poll closed yesterday and I was wondering what the results where.

That is: past participants of one particular event that had signed up under their own email address.
I know there was talk of doing a dev blog post discussing the results soon - but I am not even sure anyone has had the time to look at the results in detail right now. I barely have enough time to breathe.
Hobby Seminars and Warmachine/Hordes Events Added to Schedule
155 events and counting! The schedule continues to coalesce with the addition of Hobby Seminars and Warmachine/Hordes events. More finite details will be added to these events over the next week, but they now have their proper place in the schedule for planning purposes. Only a few more events to go and the schedule should be more or less complete...for now that is!
As a reminder: You can head on over to the AdeptiCon 2013 Webcart to see what events we have in store for you!

That's how hardcore the event is. You have to find a ticket-holder & beat him up for his ticket. In a cage match. Full of crocodiles.

Is the VIG badge text correct saying that the vendor hall will be open to only VIG pass holders for 2 hours on Thursday night... or should that be Wednesday night?
I'm leaning towards just getting the regular badge again this time, but I remember wishing I'd sprung for that one before
Also, is it possible to pay directly with credit card on the AdeptiCon site, rather than by Paypal?
Finally, should the 3 non-paying team tournament members do anything in particular when registering to note that they're in the team tournament, too?
Cheers

That's the rub with Adepticon in general though: balancing your time between the scheduled events that are the stated reason for attending, and socializing/pick up games with the people you get to see once a year, which is the better reason to attend.
Its a great problem to have, of course.

@Ritides
Is the VIG badge text correct saying that the vendor hall will be open to only VIG pass holders for 2 hours on Thursday night... or should that be Wednesday night?
Last year the vendor hall did not open till Friday. I think this is still somewhat under discussion but I expect vendors to use part of the day on Thursday for setup and then to be open later in the day on Thursday. So this would be correct but the exact time is subject to change.
I'm leaning towards just getting the regular badge again this time, but I remember wishing I'd sprung for that one before
The VIG badge, really depends on what you are looking at doing. It is generally a pretty good value if you plan to get raffle tickets, the AdeptiCon swag, anyway. The VIG just bundles that stuff and more. It also tends to have some VIG only merchandise that is not in the standard swag bag. For instance CMON provided some Zombicide promos last year. If you are arriving day 1 and plan to go through registration the VIG badge also helps expedite the process of standing in line. It is also fairly limited, and went amazing fast last year. So if it is something you are interested in doing be prepared to do it out of the gate.
Also, is it possible to pay directly with credit card on the AdeptiCon site, rather than by Paypal?
We off load all the credit card process to Paypal. This is really to mitigate potential security liabilities associated with processing and housing credit card data. By having those transactions run through Paypal it is safer for our attendees and for us! You can use a credit card via PayPal without a PayPal account. PM me with your concerns with Paypal.
Finally, should the 3 non-paying team tournament members do anything in particular when registering to note that they're in the team tournament, too?
Nope, that should be all covered by the team tourney registration which will list all the team members. The other three just need to purchase a badge.
Hope that helps ..
Hank

That's fantastic, thanks for the thorough answers muwhe
And I can definitely use Paypal, I just like to be ready for it (by either having all the funds in my account already, or none). Paypal has been forcing me to use leftover amounts in my account before using a credit card lately, which is just a little annoying as sometimes it's hard to track things that get split between what's in the account and onto a credit card.
Can't wait!

Huh, I'd never really considered it, but that's actually a good point. I'd need a "gamer sized" shirt anyway, so that's closer to $20, and the glass is cool, so it's really only paying $25 for the ease of signing up and easy access.

So I think I'm finally going to go this year, and I am looking at the events list and was wondering if you veterans could help me out a bit.
Specifically, the Fantasy "It's how you use it tournament", the 40K friendly 2014 and the 40k combat patrol 2 caught my eye. Can anyone give me an idea as to what the 40k friendly is specifically. I think the others are pretty well covered, so I am just curious about that one.
Edit: Also, the Horus Heresy Apocalypse game looks like fun. Any ideas on that one as well?

The 40k Friendly is like a whacky 40k tournament; I'm not sure how it will have changed for this year, but the first two years (I participated in year 1, signed up for but bailed due to GT exhaustion, yet still observed / hung around year 2) were full of zany whacky things ranging from random table to table involvements and deploying your opponent's army for him while he deploys yours, etc. It's a lot of fun ... and always has a theme they stick fairly strongly to. Year 1 you got little metal "The Dude Emperor" models and Abide T-Shirts following a Lebowski theme. Year 2 they went with the theme of "it's 1 louder" and had TOs wearing hair metal costumes.
Strongly recommend
It's also less physically taxing than the GT. You DO want to make sure you bring a whackadoodle list, however; they'll (as they should) tell you to reconsider if you try to bring something too hard. The year I played, I stripped all my close-assault straken guard out of their Chimeras, bought my veterans every upgrade, and went screaming around the table with nearly 80 T3 5+ guys toting 12" range weapons, + Straken. No blobs ... no special tricks ... just lots of sillyness.
So, 40k Friendly is totally worth it

That.....sounds.....amazing.....
Yep, I'm in for that. I'm not a big tournament guy, but it seems like you gotta get involved in events at Adepticon, so I figured that doing things a bit different would be the best way for me to have fun. Getting curb-stomped by a guy that plays in 4 tournaments a week is not my idea of a good time.

I think it's misnamed. As you describe, it's wacky. That's well and good if having completely random stuff impact your game appeals to you, but I found it different than what I expected (a tournament with more themed armies and less flavour-of-the-month spam). It reminded me of going to a 'speed painting' event at a Games Day, only to find that it wasn't about painting quickly, but instead involved painting while blindfolded and wearing oven mitts. If that's what you want, go for it.

That is a fairly accurate assessment. It is probably misnamed in that it's a little unfair to infer a regular GT (Even with tough armies) "unfriendly." But that's what they name it, and it is entertaining to participate in!
Events like what you're looking for do exist, just perhaps not at AdeptiCon (or maybe they do, if you check out the Warzone tournament ... I know my buddy Owen participated in that and felt it was a "real " tournament, but very different in terms of what armies there were, etc.).

Warzone gets a big thumbs-up from me. I helped run it last year (solely because the TO was completely alone, and the Gladiator was over-staffed), and aside from some minor year 1 organizational issues, it was a lot of fun. Smaller armies, smaller boards, and the structure itself enforces the need for balanced armies (as your min-max army that does well on the trenches battlefield is going to absolutely suck in the narrow corridors of a space hulk)..

What was it about the names:
Warhammer 40K: The Friendly 2012 - The Emperor Abides
and
Warhammer 40K: The Friendly 2013 - It's One Louder...
that made you think these events would be serious?
Or these event leads:
In the grim darkness of the 41st millennium, there is only taking it easy!
999.M41 The Appearance of “The Dude“
During the ending days of the 13th Crusade, reports spread across Imperial space of the appearance of an extremely relaxed prophet. Calling himself the Dude and hailing from the fringe, this strange man was known for preaching to the Empire of Man to simply “abide.” Initial reports were sporadic, with long periods of silence. In and of itself, this was not uncommon for that sector of space, for in this Age of Man…word travels slowly. Still, The Dude quickly gained the critical eye of the Ordo Hereticus. Just how many Inquisitors were dispatched to deal with this new threat is unknown, but what is known is that The Dude would have long periods of inactivity, where he would literally drop off the radar.
At the greatest expense, it has recently been confirmed that The Dude has simultaneously appeared in several different sectors at the same time. The exact explanation for these appearances remains a mystery, yet the reports hint at the unthinkable….either additional prophets have sprung up bearing the message of The Dude…or The Dude can exist in multiple locations at the same time. Whatever the case, the path of these appearances are on a course of convergence, and other than reports of his obsession with finding some long lost piece of archeotech, his exact purpose remains a mystery. It is vital that The Dude be secured for study, and even more importantly, that he be denied to our enemies!
In the grim darkness of the 41st millennium, we’re gonna rock you!
Hello. My name is Marneus DiBarzano I'm an Internet meme creator, blogger, and wargamer. I’ve made a lot of memes. All Your Base Are Belong To Us...ya that was mine. In 1996, I went down to Joliet, Illinois to a wargaming store called Fantastic Games. Don't look for it, it's not there anymore. But that night I watched a group of wargamers that for me redefined the term "hobby". I remember being knocked out by their exuberance, their raw power - and their punctuality. Those wargamers are the now-legendary Snake Sons of DaBoyz. Seventeen years and eleven AdeptiCons later, The Snake Sons are still going strong, and they've earned a distinguished place in Grand Tournament history as some of America's most dedicated hobbyists. So in the late Fall of 2012 when I heard that The Snake Sons had theory-crafted the ultimate Warhammer 40K Team Tournament list, a concept they called 'Smell the Power Glove,' and were planning to attend AdeptiCon 2013 to promote their new team concept, well needless to say I jumped at the chance to make the documentary, the, if you will, conumentary that you're about to see. I wanted to capture the, the sights, the sounds, the smells, of a hard-working wargaming club on the road. And I got that. But I got more, a lot more. But hey - enough of my yakkin'. Whaddaya say, let's roll some dice!

FW put out rules for it a while back - I believe you can still get them from the Adepticon 2013 rules links.
Basically, 1k lists, 4x4 boards, but each board is of a very different type, usually with some specific rules associated with the board: one of those boards is a Zone Mortalis board (think a space hulk); one was a (burning) city with dense buildings; one was a desert; one was trench warfare. You had a small'ish "sideboard" available, e.g., to swap out flyers for infantry/walkers when you were on the space hulk board.

Yea the Warzone event was very fun event. You play on 4 different boards with lower point limit.
It was totally relaxed event. If you play in the Championships and Team event it a good to day to relax and not get gamer “burn out”.
and thank you Janthkin for help running it.
