Matthias / muwhe, is the wait list for the Team Tournament done in the order the request was received (via the "contact us" form)?

If so... is there any way to know where we are on that list ("Dakka Detachment 3", request submitted by Stephen Garber) and how likely it is that we'll get in?

I believe someone posted saying they were 20-deep on the wait list for the championships one year and got in, not sure what it's like for the team tournament... I'm hoping we're right at the top since I submitted the form just over an hour after registration went live...

Request submitted for wait list for team and friendly event. Have to defend my friendly event title from last year!

Fingers crossed we get into both.

Thanks for struggling through that with us. Over 1000 people registered in the first 90 mins. Far exceeding last year. This process was just as painful last year if you recall...

Wait lists are first-come, first-served. Going to take me a few days to get through all this, but definitely get on wait lists.

Got in!
Though I wish the confirmation in your "my account" page showed if you are getting the full swag bag as it looks like more than 1000 have been sold already although the page still says Full swag available.

I got in on
WHFB How you use it on Thursday (evening event)
Friday Just a seminar on painting (will spend friday relaxing, demos, vendor hall ALOT and spending time with the wife - maybe take a run down to the battle bunker)
Friday Evening Painting Seminar
Sat/Sun WHFB 2-day Championship

It should say Partial now. We are over 1000 attendees. Once I have a second, I'll figure out the what Order Number corresponds to the cutoff point.

I have to say, if we get in on the wait list, I think this experience will make me appreciate it more... what utter insanity!

I will definitely be at AdeptiCon regardless of event registration to catch up with all the Dakka mods and folks, but fingers crossed on our Team Tournament chances

If this is true, where should I be able to see this, since I pressed the purchase button several times.

If it's something that sold out in the meantime, it will be gone. Webcarts generally don't take the inventory qty off until checkout is completed, rather than when it is added to the cart.

The thing that's a bit crazy to me about this whole process is that I really wonder how many additional people would sign up for these events if there were unlimited spots.

What I mean is that I feel like its kind of a case of having 1,000 spots available and 1,040 people interested in those spots, but those people are all so passionate about getting one of those 1,000 spots that they all crash the server trying to make sure they're not one of the 40 people left out in the cold. Its not so much that there are soooo many people trying to get the same thing, but rather there are just not quite enough spots and people that are super passionate that creates this feeding frenzy and site crashes.

I could be totally wrong, though...

Am I reading right that were on partial swag bags already? That's garbage. I tried to reg at 8, the site crashed, and because I'm waiting for it to calm down a bit, on day 1, I'm getting a partial?

Hey, don't feel like you have to candy coat your opinion and be polite about it. Let us know how you really feel!

I'm sure it's frustrating but not something to get overly upset about, either. Next year just be sure to strike a little quicker or see if someone will be wiling to hook you up with their swag bag, maybe? No point in cursing and making a fuss about it though, in my opinion.

Gotta agree with Reecius here...I've stuffed the bags the past 3 of my 4 years going and I will say good 90% of the time you find people giving away most of there bag anyways.

Will say it crashed on me during the checkout phase, but a reload or 2 got me back to it and got everything paid for.

Didn't try to. I think it's garbage that you can get a partial bag when you try and register day 1 but can't due to site crashing. Maybe y'all can help out with people getting health care too.

I was in the "partial" bag stage last year, and I was given a full swag bag... I didn't find it to be too much of an issue.

Over the course of 30 minutes, 1400 people want the same item. There are only 1000 of that item. Someone won't get that item, it is just the way it is.

I am pretty sure we performed leaps and bounds better than healthcare.gov!

We were filming a battle report at the shop, we had an alarm set for 7:45, promptly put it on pause and sat around 3 computers spamming f5 to make sure we got what we needed lol.

Wow, Team Tournament sold out in 48 minutes.

I am guessing that that is due to the freeze errors everyone was encountering. Without the glitches, I bet the team tournie would have sold out in less than 20 minutes. I myself was logged in at 10 minutes to 7 and it took over an hour for me to get registered due to all the errors and slow page loads. Thankfully, Yellowbeard had better luck and nabbed a spot in the 40k team tournie.

You would think, but on my first attempt I nabbed a VIG badge and immediately went for checkout. I made it all the way to Paypal, filled out my credit card info, and hit the pay now button. Was redirected back to adepticon site where it said congratts and then the site crashed...both Paypal and the site admin had no record of the transaction. Thankfully I was able to order it a second time before they sold out .

Last year we had something like 60+ on the 40K Championship waitlist and 30+ teams on the 40K Team Tourney wait list.. It is hard to say as once the event sells out and the first batch send in waitlist requests. I imagine most people stop trying.

No doubt it would have gone faster without the glitches. I almost forgot to log on and register and got on at 7:15. I had everything squared away by 7:40 and I only got the error screen once but it certainly wasn't moving fast.

Hey muwhe,

Could you update on how many of those teams got into the Team Tourney last year? And, were some of them informed well ahead of time (hopefully- and if so, around what timeframe?) and the last few just at the event itself? I've never been on a waitlist like this before so just curious what the process is.

Fingers crossed...

Well, the site crashed. People couldn't register without slow page loads. So nope. I'd say nope.

Especially since the swag bag number is completely arbitrary in the first place. Make it time frame based. Not #s based. Especially due to the website problems.
