This is a battle report between my Eldar and my friends Imperial guard in a 1500 point game of Big guns never tire. I was testing out a new eldar list with wraithguard in wave serpents which had mixed results.

That was a nice report, I play guard myself and I am surprised to see his list do so well (even though he lost). I guess there are more ways than one to play a game huh?

I wonder if he would have done better had he simply fielded more veterans instead of stormtroopers, pointwise 10 veterans with 3 plasmaguns are EXACTLY as many points as 5 stormtroopers with 2 plasmaguns and he didn't seem to be using any of the special abilities, so all the got was a 4+ armor save which really isn't going to make the difference. And the vets are troops instead of elites, so scoring. Actually for the price of those 2 stormtrooper squads you could field an infantry platoon (cms + 2 infantry squads) upgraded with heavy and special weapons.. also scoring...

Nice report. I wonder too if D-Scythes are worth the points. Are you enjoying the new warp spider rules? How are you finding the spiritseer in game (outside of this game) compared to old warlocks.

If he had done that i would have been in a lot of trouble, he would have over ran me faster and probably tabled me. he does have a limited number of models at the moment so in the future he might change to that.

I've had mixed results with D-Scythes but overall am pleased. When terminators present themselves as targets, the Wraithguard go to town. Otherwise, they are a solid scoring unit and are good at taking out entrenched troops. All in all, I like having at least one around. If I want another WG squad I'll take regular Wraithguard.
