Not where I should be

So new project time.

First though...

@ Archer I use superglue and bicarbonate of soda. Then paint it up. I give it a coat of Hobgoblin Orange, then drybrush it chainmail, then washes. It's not as brilliant as many people do, but I like it and it is quick.

Slow down, darn it.

The bins look pretty good. Have you considered printed signage for stuff like that. I have seen it done to good effect.

A WHFB timber frame building? That would be neat.

Seconded. You are making everybody else look really bad! Please, let us catch a breath!

A proper inner-frame build? What's next? Actual plumbing and wiring? (Wiring and lighting would DO look good, now that I think about it...)

You know we should probably stop making home decorating suggestions and tongue in cheek ideas because from the awesomeness I have already seen from Camkierhi we may just end up seeing a working toilet in one of the dioramas just to spite us....

I do second what archer just said. you are a crazy crazy man..
but in a good way!

the new stairs looks like a better approach.
however, i hate to say this, but it looks very compact. :/ it kinda looks like you have to crawl or crouch to get up or downstairs.
could just be the angle though.

I like the ambition in the spiral staircase. Keep at it.

hey mate...

I hop in here way too late....... sorry mate... laziness and bugs got the better of me... and the sun.... the sun...is killing me...

your house/ruin looks amazing... as we begin to expect....

and you totally fooled the heck out of me with that picture painting...... I totally mistook it for a 1:1 scaled version...thinking you would go for a new hobby take with your painting skills.......you totally went bob ross on that one!!!

but I am with the others... your take on the spiral staircase looks excellent but it appears still a bit hobbit style...a bit more spaced out and you are truly golden....(depends of course on what sinister use you have planned this piece to be for...)

cheers mate

That painting is indeed very well done. The frame, tongue depressors? I've actually been wondering how doing something like that might look. Now I know. Thanks.

it looks like you have the faux marble technique nailed down. Very impressive. I believe that I have tried that technique (one of them anyway). It takes some patience. I'm glad to see you've mastered it. But not surprised

The spiral stairs... Hmmm, love the idea (of course). It looks like you may have one coil too many. Due to the width of the risers? Are you going to clean up the edges of the risers? They look ragged. And is a handrail/bannister forthcoming? I know, I know, too many questions.

Edit: added a bit to first paragraph.

Not where I should be

Thank you so much guys and dolls, fantastic responses.

@ Archer, I wish I could.

@ Grim Thank you.

@ DiDDe. Indeed thank you, and I think you and others were right so see below, please let me know what you think.

@ Dr H. Thank you, I will endeavour to add some MOAR.

@ Shas. Thank you, not sure it will be Orky, not sure it will be anybodies, I have a plan, See below.

@ Vik. Thank you master. I have missed you. Indeed Sir Bob was the inspiration. Might yet do a couple more, just for kicks. And see below on the stair situation.

@ Red Thank you, coffee stirrers, 45 degree mitres. Painted on card. I promise I will do a bit on my take on the marble. Littletower has a piece in person so best ask him if it's any good really. And again the stairs below....

@ Graven, Panda and Gits thank you gentle peeps you are far too kind.

Well where is this going?

Originally it was meant to be a small piece, I wanted to use one of Dr H's bathrooms, and I had a picture in my head of a ruined house, hardly anything left, a sniper and spotter perched in the ruins of the exposed bathroom, with an unknown assassin below creeping up on them.

It has got a bit bigger than intended, and I am not sure whether to go dio or terrain piece, I may put the figures in but make them removable. Thoughts gratefully recieved.

For now though, firstly I took on board what you all said about the stairs, and here you go see what you think....they are in the process of weathering and I chucked in Johnny guardsman for scale. It is just over 3" (80mm) between floors. to give the impression of stately home.

This is where the bathroom will be...

And can you guess what this is?......(two raised floor boards...)

It's a light switch.......

Thank you all and thank you for looking in, please keep the comments coming....

Oh good god he has become an electrician. I have a cousin in law whose husband has an amazing out house with a light switch concealed beneath the floor boards.

I like the idea of removable figures, anything that makes such an amazing piece of work multipurpose has go to be the way to go?

i think your next one needs a happy lil cloud then

the lighted terrain piece/ diorama is developing into pure stunningness!

and the handle bar to the staircase is the needed addition that brings this detail into reality!

it is also not the second time you did marble... remember everyone the "not worthy " comp entry?... there you did weathered marble too... you really have a knack for this!

to answer the question...well... it will essentially be a dio... but it is meant to be played with... so terrain piece too... heck... why label it

removable models I think nevertheless are a good decision!

also... I would like to see the "innards" of your electricity works here... I am about to reveal my own work on the current project and it is vast and wide... well it has 20 lights (only 19 shown...) but it has costed me quite a nerve...I like that you actually managed to conceal the switch with a detail that even works ...very sneaky...
