Must be a lot of
LOS-blocking terrain in those.
With just a few exceptions, most
GTs are local affairs so you often see a lot of strange local metas.
Also the rules, terrain, missions, and
FAQs have a huge impact on which armies win
GTs.
One recent example is the Northern Warlords
GT that ruled that “Ignore Cover” does not work on vehicles. So what happens then is that players take Wave Serpent spam and hide them behind a skyshield landing pad for a +2 cover save that no one can do anything about. Most people just check the results and see all of the Eldar placing high, but you do not see what really caused it.

This as an example of how the amount of terrain influences what armies will win. Eldar and Demons love a lot of
LOS blocking terrain, and a lot of Tau builds don't.
