Subject: Space Hulk: Live today . . . new release trailer added.
Space Hulk - the video game is now up for pre-order on Steam and it goes live on August 15th. It looks just great IMO, I love "turn based strategy games" and since this particular game is based on 40K it should be a winner! I never played the original board game but so far the critics that have played the original as well as this version say it hits the mark. Looking forward to this one!
Looks fairly entertaining. Always been a fan of Space Hulk.
Marneus Calgar is referred to as "one of the Imperium's greatest tacticians" and he treats the Codex like it's the War Bible. If the Codex is garbage, then how bad is everyone else?
Should be in the VG forum - but I agree, it looks classic, and there isn't much that can go wrong with these kind of games.
The price might seem a bit steep just for 15 missions and some multiplayer, but the included level editor and the possibility for later expansions could balance this.
I'll bite, probably.

Subject: Space Hulk: Available for Pre-Order on Steam. Live 8/15/13
Steam had Skyrim and DLC for 50% off this weekend. I spent $30 and got Skyrim and Dragonborn ($24.95 actually). WAS going to put the $$ to Space Hulk, but I may hold off and see what the reviews say, and see if the price goes down. $30 is a bit much (especially considering what I got for the same $$ on Skyrim).
Anyway, off to Skyrim

Yes it's an exact copy of the board game, plus 3 tutorial-type missions at the start.
Have to say I'm enjoying this to an extent due to my love of the board game, but had I been a casual strategy or turn based gaming fan not sure whether I would be willing to pay more than £10 for this TBH.

Exactly this.

im a non boardgame space hulk player
and it was a little bit confusing with the dice roles, after i got a loading message "storm bolter hit 1 out of 6 times" i was like "aaah i need a 6 to hit!" (after the first shot a 5 is enough)
i think they could tell you before you klick on the enemy to attack what dicerole you need to be victorious
oh and the dodge animation of the nids looks kinda boring :O

You'd be lucky to get ten dollars out of me for this game, to be honest.
I don't get the appeal, beyond being 40k-related.

I had a suspicion this would not be ideal.
I liked the old 40k games borrowing from old X-com like "Chaos Gate".
Use the same ideas and premise as the new X-com and they would have gaming gold.

if all they did was port this from the tabletop to the PC....... ...... .... k, fine, you can play with your friends from overseas...
but if really all they did was put this onto the computer without making any sort of creative additions.
Might have been interesting to have competitive head-to-head play (like, say, "Oh hai bludraengilz. Don't mind us dark aengilz, we'z just here to find your herussy!" all the while having to deal with jean stealers..) or expand this into a kill-team thing. I wouldn't pay even $10 for this. With a metascore of 59/100, probably means it's something like a 29/100 because I think people are way too generous....

i thought it was already out? weren't they bragging that it has cross-platform compatibility? That's balls.... just goes to show that it's really really not worth the $30 they're asking for, and the inevitable $5-10 for DLCs to "fix" the game and it's bugs.
total biscuit did a good job of ripping it a new one.

If that isn't a review, I wouldn't know what the hell else to call it. watching him review space marine was hillarious. He kept breaking down in squeals of glee and joy.
