I suspect I already know the answer to my question... (a resounding no!) But I'm hoping I'm wrong.
Is there a website for the tournament scene for 40K and/or WHFB? (Is the tourney scene even that well organized...?) Worldwide, regional, or even nation/state specific? Are there such things as "world champion" 40K/FB players?
I'm particularly curious about which factions get brought to the tournaments, and what typically bubbles to the top. I reckon this has a lot to do with what might be hot at the time, but I think it would be kinda neat to see which factions are popular, and does that popularity usually translate into a top spot when the tourney is over. Are there factions which rarely even make an appearance at tourneys?
I'm not competative enough to care about which units are favorites, but that might also be cool to check out. As a new player, I'm not really that interested in improving my game that much (I only play with friends), but I'm kind of a data nerd, and would love to just see what folks are playing with. It would be neat to see these data organized like sporting websites, or brackets like one sees in the World Cup or March Madness college basketball here in the US.

I play...
Sigh.
Who am I kidding? I only paint these days... |

Yeah, if you search "Adepticon 2013 armies" you'd get a breakdown of placings for that event. It's just a matter of searching as events come up, they tend to get good coverage it seems.

Is rankings HQ still a thing? I remember they were growing in popularity when I started playing 40k.

I was going to suggest rankingsHQ as well, but I haven't heard much mentioned of them lately.

http://www.tabletopturniere.de/index.php was focused on Germany/Europe but their European Team Championship includes Australia so I don't know.

Well, yes and no. The new system of only displaying scores for paid or sponsored registered members dropped three quarters of the results out of the database, rendering the while thing pretty useless in one fell swoop.

I wondered why people stopped caring about it. About 18months-2 years ago it was all people ever talked about on "The Warhammer Forum", now it never gets a mention.
