Those extra 3-4 days give the border guards enough time to open your package, play with the models a bit, then repackage it up in time to get it sent on to you, the customer...
or maybe not.

Glad to know another company is a bit more on the ball with their customer service and providing a quality product. Oh, wait that's about every other miniatures manufacturing company out there now isn't it....
I don't believe that for one second. Not a single one.
You can dislike GW, their prices, or their business practices, but their Customer Service is second to none. If you live in the US and you have a product problem, they replace it within a business week.
It happened. I wasn't the only one it happened to either. GW has some stocking issues apparently. You can dislike criticism of GW but they're not the same GW they were even a year ago. I will admit I was shocked by the time it took for them to replace the product. That's why I started asking around and discovered I wasn't the only one experiencing this. Note that this was a Finecast replacement maybe their stock levels of plastics is better.

Ahh, I missed the part about it being Finecast from your first post, I think.
I can believe that as It wouldn't surprise me if they're keeping very little stock of the Finecast in warehouse.
My bad.

So when I got home, I sent a missing parts ticket on their website, got it approved and waited about 4-5 days considering I was not buying and asking for a replacement part. It gets here and there is the Officer's arm with a few extra bases thrown in. I am not sure if it was intentional or not, but I was a bit surprised and a little happy with it. Safe to say I was happy with the outcome. Weird thing about that, I had the exact same part missing from my TFG UA. PP has always been good about replacing missing or broken pieces, con season slows them down a bit, but that's expected and not a huge deal to me. I think the most I've ever waited in the last two years to get a replacement part in my hands is like 10 days.

My one issue with PP was when I ordered PGBHs and it took them 8 months to fill. Apparently they had stocking issues. I quit playing the game and left my stuff in a box in the closet. When I got the PGBHs I restarted playing. Apparently they had a massive shortage at the time.

Growing pains, as after the launch of MK2 (which was far more popular) and the launch of 8th Ed WHFB (which put off some players) there was a huge influx of people trying to get into the game, and PP couldn't keep up. They seem to have mostly sorted that now, though some models are still hard to track down on occasion (especially some popular solos), however that's apparently partly due to distributor choices.
Definitely much better these days in terms of market supply.

From my experience their shipping times vastly differ from when you order something vs. when you submit a customer service ticket.
FWIW, It was less than a week for me to receive my replacement parts the two times I had to contact them.

So I emailed them and they told me they would send out some replacement dice. Fast forward 3 weeks and I get a box from PP open it and they had sent me the dice and EVERYTHING else I had initially ordered that had made it here ok. These guys really go above and beyond.
That's odd. EVERY TIME I've had defective products from them, they've sent only the replacements for the specific parts, and usually the WRONG ones. For example, my Bastion Sergeant's (I know that's not what they're called, but the leader of the squad) glaive was miscast, so they sent me one of the mooks' glaives. Twice. I ended up making do with the miscast part, some greenstuff, and my sudden lack of enthusiasm. They did the same thing with my skin walkers, sending me replacements for the legs that were not miscast, despite pictures and descriptions.
If they had sent me a new box instead each time, they would have SAVED money in shipping and retained my confidence as a customer.
And no, I am not complaining because I love GW. (I don't.) I'm complaining because I wanted to like PP.

That's not true at a lot of companies go out of their way for our Armed Forces overseas. This was a long time ago my father was in deployed in Vietnam and he had his zippo get damage somehow iirc he said it was run over by a tank. But anyway he wrote them a letter, asking if he could get a replacment flip lid. He got back from a deployment like a month later he had a full box from Zippo with a full case 144 brand new lighters replacement wicks and flints for all of them with a letter saying they were sorry they also couldn't send lighter fluid but they couldn't send that in the mail and to please enjoy and give out the lighters to his buddies. He was quite popular with the guys when he got back for a while.
He still uses Zippo lighters to this day. So do I (not that I smoke but I always have a Zippo on me.)

Yeah I usually wait 8-10 days at the most for replacement parts. I get multiples of pieces or everything attached to that pewter gate as a replacement most times.
Sidenote: People don't think your a fanboi for speaking badly of a company that isn't GW. They think you are for coming into a positive PP thread and talking about GWs superior customer service.

First of all, I've received better customer service from every single mini manufacturer I've ever contacted about an issue (excluding Defiance Games), including one really confused boardgame company CSR who genuinely didn't understand why I cared about the quality of the pieces.
Second, no matter what you or I think of GW as a business, retailer or manufacturer, their customer service has always been amazing. At least up until 2011: I haven't had to use it since then, so I don't know if they have maintained it.
Really, all I wanted was to come into a positive PP thread and talk about how much aggravation I've experienced with them. (My replacement parts took months to sort out, despite the lackluster success rate.) Like a puppy, PP isn't going to learn anything if we praise them for not pooping in your kitchen while ignoring the stinker they left in mine.

This is the kind of thing I find unneccssary, but it keeps getting brought up. Why do the two need to be compared?

I don't think I did compare them in my original post. I compared them in the katest post because I was responding to a comment about how they are often compared.
But they are the two most popular miniature tabletop wargame companies. Comparisons are pretty natural.

I had a weird eBay sale last year that did something similar. It was going from Missouri where I live to the Des Moines, Iowa area, which is about a 3 hour drive. It went to Texas first. For a while I was worried about just where/when it would arrive.
