Hi all,

I designed my own battlesuit.

Hope you like it.
You can purchase it here: www.heavy-support.com

I quite like it, but to me the body looks too large (as in 'fat' for the limbs) the limbs are long and slim/slender and the body itself looks out of proportion to me. Other wise I'd probably get some

It doesn't really look that different from the current GW model. Minor alterations is all. To that end I'll pray the Legal Team are in a good mood on your behalf.

Pass, still has proportion issues and costs more than the current GW ones. And if I wanted to infringe that much on GW product I could probably find recasts of FW crisis suits for cheaper.

I might be way off the mark here, but based on the slight "layering" of the surface material, I would say it was sculpted in a 3D design program and then printed out using a 3D printing service.

While I'm all for third party designs....I'd much rather see innovative design than derivative. This is quite blatant.

Like borrowing a friends research paper and rearranging the paragraphs. Its not much different, just altered dimensions.

And you kept some of the worst design elements of the original.

To be fair, while it keeps the blocky design of the original Crisis Suit, the arms and legs are now posable and the body looks like it could actually contain a driver. So it is a viable alternative. Although I would have liked a less blocky alternative.

The address is correct though http://www.heavy-support.com/

Battlesuit

The battlesuit consists of 13 parts (head, shoulders, 2 jet backpack-parts, 2 upper legs, 2 lower legs, 2 feet and a small sensor)

You are able to build every pose you want. The modell is beween 6 and 7 cm high and 4,5cm wide and therfore fits perfect into 28mm scale wargames.

In addition there are 5 pairs of weapon: Rocketlauncher, flamethrower, gattlings, plasma and Fusion weapons.

You can choose up to two pairs of weapons per battlesuit. Just put them in your shopping cart.

The model will be delivered unpainted in single parts. A base is not included.

Model seems to be standing on a 60mm base.

Here three more pics:

20 € , including 2 pairs of weapons.

Also keep in mind that IP law works very differently in Germany than in UK and USA.

The torso would be fine if the legs had more heft to them. Look at how the FW legs got bulked out even though the torso didn't change. These resin ones have a much larger torso and barely larger shins. Some nice bulky gundam/Armored Core style legs are in order.

Also, spend a bit of time sanding and filing your master cast, there's definite layering from the 3D printing on these pieces.

Otherwise, I do like them. Not enough to buy them, but enough to consider them. They're also close enough that you might be able to get away with using them at tournaments, I'm sure many would assume they were a FW variant.

Torso and Head are very nice. Arms are decent. Problem is the legs and feet. Thighs and shins look far too small, both thickness and length compared to the body, and the ankles seem as likely to snap as GW ones.

More dynamic, and the rounded edges look a little more cohesive with the new suits. Pretty cool.

The pricing on that battlesuit is insane for an Australian.

For the price of that battlesuit plus shipping (which comes to a total of $64.40) I could buy a box of the current XV8 Battlesuits at my LFGS. That's 3x XV-8 Crisis battlesuits and 6 gun drones.

Third party resin alternate sculpts aren't a socket for cheap players to sit in, its like having a suit tailored for yourself. This is about bling

the design reminds me of the official artwork for the Tau Battlesuits. I imagine that if GW ever made truescale ones, they'd pretty much look like that. Only thing I don't really like about them is the weapon arms. They look too dinky for me.

I really like the suit and i would love to order the Mortian battle tank, but what turns me off are your over the top charges for postage.
23euro to Czech republic (i guess it's much higher for other countries) turns off a lot of potential customers in my humble opinion.

I like the head a lot. I kinda wish I could just buy sprues full of variant heads like that. Same with the feet, they look a lot like the new Farsight suit and I'd like to have those bits to change up my own models. I also like the new torso, still kinda blocky but nowhere near as bad, and it actually looks big enough to fit a Tau inside.

Most of the model is okay, but I really hate the legs. They're too small and I just don't like how they're designed (but poseability is good). Personally I kinda like the look of the current crisis suit legs, but I've never been a fan of how flat they are...the studio models look slightly rounded on top and that detail never got carried over to the production model apparently.

I guess what I'm trying to say is I'd really love it if someone just copied the design of the new Farsight model's legs and sold them, lol.

Hi everyone,

thanks for the feedback. I will take it into account for future models.

The price for the delivery was still wrong in the shop. It is now updated. The shop is all new but still has some minor bugs. Sorry for that.

I will say it oddly enough looks better to me, unpainted.

There a still aspects I dislike, but the same can be said about the 'real' kit.

I get this impression, too... would also appreciate a little more deviation from the GW model to make it worth getting. As-is, it's too similar to be desirable over the GW ones, imo.

But, nicely sculpted
