Brilliant penultimate episode. Most inspired casting of Robert Forster since Jackie Brown and loved it when the (usually underused) theme tune played after Walter White had his buttons pushed one last time.

Pretty fulfilling ending.

Was worried, after what seemed like every show I loved jumped the shark on its last season(s), this show was intense until the very end.

Yes it was. I agree it was a solid, fitting ending.

Absolutely gobsmacking ending. It had me on the edge of my seat the entire time I watched it.

Brilliantly executed and I love how they tied all loose ends with no pointless ambiguity when it came to key parts of the story or character fates.

Is it weird that even at the end I was rooting for Walt?

Not so fast, my friend. Will we ever discover the fate of Hule? Is he still waiting in that motel room for Hank and Gomez to come back? Poor guy will starve!

I think big boy Huell will have to be there a while to starve ;-)

Nah, he'll be fine. His considerable fat...er...deposits on his very well-stacked body should be able to last for months. Worst case scenario they took away his McDonald's privileges when the cop looking after him brought him to the DEA. Best case scenario he ate the cop out of hunger. DARN IT. You have played your cards well NELS1031...Vince Gilligan must release a webisode about what happened to our fine chunk of a henchman!

Sad it's over but I'm glad it was a great ending. No cliffhangers or questions left and all the loose ends tied up. Most of this season I kinda hated Walt, but was rooting for him at the end

You know, it was particularly brilliant how so much of it was tied back to other innocuous details from previous episodes. What a masterful series.

Walt admitting that he was a selfish prick, and that everything he did was for himself, was the closest he could have come to redemption, and at least made it possible to root for him again, even if you knew that he deserved to die.

Fantastic ending. Shame we didn't get a closing shot of Saul working at a Cinnabon. That would have made everything perfect.

I thought the finale was pretty meh. I expected more for Jesse.

Jesse
Spoiler:
is finally free and got to personally kill his tormentor Todd as a bonus. Short of resurrecting Andrea, I'm not sure how Jesse could've got a better ending.

haven't heard this before but someone at work was just saying Saul is getting a spinoff show? or is that just an interweb fanboy rumor?

Was hoping for more of a Chemistry ending not just guns a blazing (like the mercury bomb). but otherwise a satisfying ending.

I don't think Breaking Bad would be out of place in the company of other great works of American storytelling, i.e. The Great Gatsby, As I Lay Dying, On The Road, etc. It's going to be a classic.

I enjoyed it, though would have preferred a more active role for Jesse.

I will say that for a show built on twists and turns, nothing that surprising happened in this episode. It was really a case of how it would happen rather than what would happen.

Pretty much. But considering how the rest of the season has been building up, that's pretty much the only way they could have done it, really.

I really enjoyed the the whole grey matter part, very well done. Was great to see badger and skinny pete make the last episode.

One question I would like someone to answer though, how did he get the ricin into the stevia? I dont think he could have planted it when he sat down, maybe she always sits a the same table and it was already put there before they all arrived?

Pretty much its always the second table to the door. i wonder how he could of gotten it in there and then close it without any seams (the stevia pack).

I think he could've gotten a better ending if
Spoiler:
he blew up the meth lab, killing himself and Todd
instead of what actually happened.

You don't think Jesse

Spoiler:

Finally deserved to be free? He got to kill Todd, and Walt let Jesse decide his fate. Had Jesse wanted to kill Walt, Walt was ready to accept that. Jesse not killing Walt, like Walt sorta wanted, was jesses final liberation. Plus, had he blown up the meth lab we wouldn't have gotten that fantastic final scene.

Pretty good final episode. I was hoping that
Spoiler:
when Walt was alone in the Nazi lab inspecting the equipment he was going to start cooking his recipe again. When he grabbed the mask I was like "DO IT!!" but then the sirens in the background just killed that hope. Waaaahh, it's really over!

Had a great time with this series.

I thought the same thing. I think it may have been his intent before it ended.

To be fair, you could have easily had that same final scene with
Spoiler:
the music playing overtop of a silent meth lab explosion, even if the explosion was caused by WW. I do agree that Jesser not killing WW and escaping is his own redemption for killing Gayle, particularly when it's fair to assume he'll take care of the kid whose mother was shot a few episodes back (forget her name).
