Hey folks. Finished basing up my first batch of night gobbos. I have two blocks of 40 planned, so any critique welcomed, and will be put into practice. Fairly happy with them, other than the yellow, which is a bit meh.

I was trying to find a balance between speed, and my glacial slowness. Probably took about 15 hours in all.

And one with their big brothers. Next up is a unit of spider riders, and the old metal azhag model.

Awesome sauce. Great work here. Night goblins always look delightful. They've got that old school GW look. So much so that I always think if I had some I would have to paint their bases Goblin Green. Seriously nice work.

These look really good. You can add a further highlight to make them pop, but having painted my own horde I wouldn't change them at all.

They are looking really good eggs. I like to give them red beady eyes myself as it makes them look a bit evil?

Flames around the hood, or something like checkers would bring some splashes of detail to unit, I would't just do the first rank or 2, or the guys on outside of unit.

be easy on yourself and make yourself some unit fillers. every one of my 50 man buses has a 3x5 screaming bell base in middle of it with a diorama... to cut down on bodies to paint

I would also say, spots on the mushrooms! my preference hehe

Thanks folks. I have a huge amount still to paint, thus the reason I haven't gone too detailed. I thought about red eyes, but I wanted a slightly more 'albino' feel for them.

Personally, I'm not a fan of unit fillers, but ask me again once I've done eighty of these buggers, and I'll probably have changed my mind!

As for the mushrooms, I considered spots, but I thought I'd probably mess it up!

Maaaaaaan this has made me miss my Orc and Goblin army. They actually look perfect, as if they been taken from a copy of White Dwarf haha. Nice work. I know you say you havent gone too detailed but i think anymore would ruin them, if that makes sense, i really like these how they. I much prefer the brighter green skin to dark.
Literally the only thing id change would be the red binding on the savage orcs, personal preference really, but as this topic is about the Night Goblins, these nothing id change.

Your painting is good dont be so hesitant to add spots if younreally want to! Yeah I wouldn't worry about details ya can always add later if mood strikes you. They look great as is. I love mini dioramas. Goblins are condusive to them I think!

I really didnt bother with flames for sake of flames, more out of boredom of painting 40 goblins lol.

I think green with Green eyes may take away from the actual painting of the overall model, may i suggest a contrast color? I just think you did such a good job it is a shame for their faces to just blend.

The eyes are yellow. I thought about putting a drop of red ink in there, but I'm not sure. I'll see.

As I say, I might dab a bit of red ink in there. I'll try one and see how it looks.

I have to agree with the red eyes just to add a little pop! Or red spears (that might be a little to old school) looks great, what’s the skin recipe? Goblin green and a wash of thraka?

did you highlight the bilous green after the strong tone dunk or before? these don't look like freshly dunked in dip to me honestly. I had thought your savages were from a previous thread asking how the dip job looked and thought they looked great

The green was before dip. Bilious green seems to work pretty well on that particular shade. I've just finished a forest goblin with the same recipie, and he's come out pretty nice. Ill try and post a pic later.

This is perfect. Not like, artsy perfect, but tabletop perfect. You've painted them in such a way that was simple yet flawless.
