Wow was really interested in this for me and my son......untill I saw the $78.00 shipping to the U.K for a $65.00 early bird! I know it will be heavy but $78.00? I wish you the best with the project but I don't think you will get many international backers.

Edit: just for clarification it is $78.00 shipping right? How much for shipping within the U.S.A?

You'll get less flak around here calling the material Resin rather then plastic.

$78 seems pretty accurate given the amount of stuff and USPS's prices.

Thanks for your feedback, we are currently in the process of finding less expensive methods for international shipping.

Domestic shipping fees have been included into the overall $65 pledge for the game.

Yeah right now we can only find flat rate prices such as USPS's prices.

This is the thing I don't get (not trying to moan just curious). So I'm a U.S backer and I pledge for the game if you live in the U.S you don't pay shipping because its included the pledge. I then pledge for the same thing as an international backer I pay the same amount plus shipping. This feels like non U.S backers are paying for there shipping as well as there own. Wouldn't it make more sense to lower the international shipping by $X and charge $X for U.S backers for shipping or lower the pledge by $X and charge U.S backers $X for shipping.

The thing is though, a parcel can cost $5 to ship from Florida to California, but the same thing costs $60 to ship to the UK.

Then lower the pledge by $5.00 and charge $5.00 shipping for U.S backers. Or lower international shipping by $5.00 and charge $5.00 for U.S backers (though it would still be to expensive). It's more of a visual thing for me (I know im nitpicking now lol) I don't like to pay for other peoples shipping. I hope you can resolve this by being able to ship from within the E.U as the cost would come down for shipping then and we would not worry about customs (out of you control of course).

(This is my main reason why I don't back K.S projects from the U.S anymore that can't ship from the E.U)

This is only true if you are using USPS flat rate boxes to ship aboard, and/or shipping Priority.

Since the price increases, I have simply switched to shipping First Class to the UK, and it is sooooooo much cheaper. Thus far, it has arrived in the same amount of time, too.

I wish people would stop saying shipping is THAT high internationally as if it is the only option. Sure, shipping costs are high... but it doesn't have to be THAT high if you use a less expensive method such as First Class.

A number of the UK model makers that I buy from use basically the equivalent of that to ship to me here, from what I can tell. It works great! To the OP, don't set your shipping prices based on flat rate boxes or Priority rates... for something this big I think that will just make it prohibitively expensive (as $78 in shipping for a $65 product certainly is).

I had fun with my brother trying to figure out all the references with the figures.

I just feel worried you guys are going to end up in over you head with the whole prepainted early birds.

How are you guys going to handle painting all that if this gets funded?

Also, I know this is going to sound bad, but please tell us the pieces and the board are going to look a bit more professional. As a boardgamer before a wargamer, the quality of the components is something I look at first and foremost. The hexes looked like they were early hand-molded pieces, and I'd hope to see something a bit more sturdy in the end. The cards and the stock of the board looked like prototypes as well, which is fine, but I hope to see or hear your plans for how those will turn out in the end.

Good luck!

Poorly lit photos of my ever- growing collection of completely unrelated models!

I'm super confused.
Is anything on the KS page final product or will the $9k go to professional art, sculpting etc?

Thank you for the posts and information (and as half-Koreans we definitely understand the frustrations behind shipping and additional costs). We will work out an acceptable EU reward and update within 24 hours.

EDIT: We now have rewards specifically for the UK and Canada. More countries will be added as we review Amazon fulfillment policies and worldwide options.

Thank you for your feedback!

The early bird special quantity will be lowered to make acceptable non-USA reward options. We are fortunate to have the time, resources, and network to help achieve our goals especially with the aid of kickstarter support.

The board tiles will be further developed as a stretch goal and updated at the midway point of the project. The default game includes a game board where an updated graphic will be shown by Sunday along with a full gameplay video.

Thanks for the post and sorry for the confusion, we will clear it up on the kickstarter page. The kickstarter page features works-in-progress. More models and artwork will be finalized throughout the kickstarter duration up until we invest in bulk supplies (nearly 2 months of finalization work in other words). In addition more models and cards will be revealed on the kickstarter. We have no plans for using other art services and will work towards having both quantity and quality reach an acceptable level.

Take care guys and thank you for your feedback.

Add me to the super confused list.

I don't actually know what the basic boardgame is supposed to contain. The caption in the picture says "over 100 miniatures and cards" which in itself is ambiguous (could be ten miniatures and 95 cards for example), but making it worse is that all the miniatures in the picture seem to be the same as the "add-ons" shown below - the total value of which looks to be north of 800 bucks.

The number of add-ons is also off-putting. I'm one of those sick people who likes "complete" collections of things. A price tag of 1000 dollars at the start of the kickstarter isn't going to get me interested. You probably should have saved these add-ons for when you've got some momentum going.

Also, please don't rely on your video to sell the game. I - and others, from what I've read on this forum - never bother watching the videos. Speaking personally, I will never base a Kickstarter purchase on a video; good pictures and a carefully-written description are what I want to see.

Love the name of the game by the way. Very cute.

Are all the spaceships and other models included in the game? If I pledge $1 and order 3 ships, it would cost me more than the entire game, so what is the deal with that?

Sorry for the confusion and thanks for the feedback! We will be adding a clearer graphic, improved photos, a new order form, and an improved description, but for clarification the game includes 65 unique heroic scaled miniatures, and 100 cards, and more will be revealed:

Thirty 28mm miniatures
Sixteen 6mm miniatures
Eight Space miniatures
11 building terrain and mission objectives
100 Cards
2D6
Game Board
Rules Document
Youtube Documentary
Activation Code for Digital Campaign (ETA 2015)

Thanks for the questions. All of the miniatures shown, including the spaceships, come with the game. The $1 order form was designed mostly for individual model orders. We want to encourage backers to purchase the early bird specials. However we are now creating a reward suitable for multiple miniature orders and we will update as soon as possible.

Panic, I'm not saying you should buy in, but he made a UK-reward tier that is only $10 more than the US-reward tier, and includes shipping!!

So, that's not a good reason not to look at the page... just saying . I don't have a stake either way, but it makes us look a bit shallow here

yeah,
Ok, I've had a look.

First - it's not for me.

Second - The game plus shipping to the UK is $75... that's nice.
But I do have to ask, how is the game going to get to the UK when the quoted shipping cost is $78?

Panic...

You are right the boards pictured in the trailer were from earlier versions of the game but for the gameplay video this week we will show off the latest prototype. As for the hexagon and peg board stretch goal, thicker and near-perfect uniform tiles have been made and will be shown if we're lucky to reach near the stretch goal's number.

Currently we're improving and refining our models to show off before-and-after pictures. By no means are any of the models pictured completed, but an idea of the models that would be included in our game.

And I'm happy to announce we've added a British pledge level that includes the shipping price - $75 for a completely painted tabletop miniatures and card game!

We are currently working on a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet for less expensive orders on single models.

You should strongly consider renaming it "Orc" instead of "Ork". If you stick with Ork, there could be.... problems.
