My Malifaux arrived, was built, and now awaits gaming. A spot of lunch and then I'll be off to test out the rules.

On a side note, I'm blown away with the quality of the minis. Expertly designed, not a mould line in sight, and stunning attention to detail (although I'm still not sure whether all the parts in Hopkins' belt are in the right place....)

Huh, sounds nice. Looking forward to seeing what you do with them

If I have any effort left in me after work... I'll be plugging away at several Heresy Dr. Who minis. I've also got a couple of Daleks ordered from black tree designs.

No, the guy next to him is an indication of where I'm going. I'm finishing up painting a Hassassin Bahram list. Finish up the Muyib link, then the individual Hassassins (Barid, Lasiq sniper, Farzan, Yasbir), a couple of Kameel remotes and then some of the new Ghazi Muttawi'ah.

Once those are done I'll move back to Qapu Khalki, finish the Sekban and figure out what I want to do for a list.

First game down, and I have to say, Malifaux's rules equal the models in terms of quality. No confusion, very intuitive and interactive, and genuinely tactical. I imagine it'll get even better when I start with objectives other than 'kill those guys over there'...

Sounds dreamy, if only there was some small niche of the steampunk/victorian aesthetic with which I could Jive.

I'm in very much the same boat regarding Infinity. I hear nothing but good things about the rules, and a small-scale skirmish game that's a little wider in scope than Deadzone sounds great, but I just can't get into the aesthetic of the models. Some I really like, but not enough to get into the game.

Ahh, see, I've got a long habit of watching anime so that part of it doesn't bother me. The scale and sculpting quality are fun to work with, even if the guns and close combat weapons tend to run a little large.

I can totally understand the aesthetic thing though, my brain just autodismisses steampunk/victorian style stuff.

Well not today, but the last few nights I have been working on finally painting some Dreadball minis... and have learned that I still hate white, yellow, and I am starting to really dislike mantic's figures (because of the material used).

Last night I was putting together and organising 4 new star trek ships. A Keldon Class, Jem Hadar battleship, Jem Hadar Attack ships and the USS Excelsior.

Tonight, it's X-Wing wave 4. I've got to say, the properly prepainted and models in general in X-Wing just feel so much better than Trek's.

The Keldon class literally is a chunk of plastic and a couple of fins glued haphazardly on top of the Galor class.

Finaly got around to buying the Astra Millitarum codex, and I dare say do like it and like it a lot. Although I am sad to see that some of the special characthers from the old book is gone I find it all in all a good book.
Beside that I am awating the arrival of the Scions I orderd some days ago

I have to work late tonight, but once I get home, I am going to set my table up for an all day Necromunda marathon tomorrow. Also have to get my gang ready and make sure I have all my rosters ready.

Just finished rebuilding the shelving in my store room.

Cheepy metal ones from B&Q, had two assembled as three (basically put some of the shelves between them to link them), have just added some more to the end and an 'L'.

Needless to say not quiet as easy as all that as the old ones needed moving 1" to the left.. so had to empty the lot, but now have a somewhat better organised place to put unbuild models, storage cases, rulebooks and a few shallow shelves for sitting models on that currently lack a proper home.

Not exactly painting, and not exactly modelling but something that makes it all that little bit easier.

Finally getting round to painting my Deadzone Terrain for the Big Terrain Competition I tried out Army Painters dip tonight....

To be honest, I seriously am not impressed. I'd have been far better off buying 8 pots of Agrax Earthshade for the same price and I'd end up with the same outcome but with far, far less mess - and more control where I am putting it.

Dip can be tricky for sure. I use minwax polyshades instead of army painter so I can't comment specifically on that.

Also working in terrain today. Theoretically playing dead zone tomorrow so I'm working on some barricades, railings, barrels, canisters, and crates to help give some cover to my existing structures.

Oh, I certainly vote with my dollar, but the problem is that that is not enough. The problem with the 'vote with your dollar' response is that it doesn't take into account why we're not buying the product. I want to enjoy 40k enough to buy back in. It was my introduction to traditional games, and there was a time when I enjoyed it very much. I want to buy 40k, but Gamesworkshop is doing their very best to push me away, and simply not buying their product won't tell them that.

Picked up a WH Galleon super cheap, if a bit broken.

My buddy and I were playing with two gangs each. I am running a Goliath gang, and an Orlock gang that, despite my efforts to make it a shooty gang, has leveled up into one of the best close combat gangs I've seen.

Making more progress on my Haqqislam. Focuing on the Hassassins.

Made a lot of progress on a 4th Muyib, and started the Barid for a second time (first time was so terrible he took a dip in oven cleaner).

Also built my 2 Kameel, thanks for CB officially changing the base size for them to 55mm. I was simply never going to base them on 40's with those stupid base extensions.

Nice

I run an Arbites patrol some games, occasionally spyrers.

I also have an Escher gang and a Cawdor mob in the works.
