Got some materials prepped for a Greater Daemon/DP DIY project.
I pretty much left a heap chicken bones to stew in a Tupperware full of bleach for a couple of weeks, and this evening I cleaned and scrubbed everything that was salvageable down.
Glamorous work.

I'm painting my Eldar Guardians. They're my first batch of Eldar and it took me a while to figure out what paint scheme I wanted to use. It doesn't help that the new books are absolute garbage for showcasing different schemes and such. Never mind the complete lack of tutorials...
But I'm managing

That sounds nice, a project you just knock out a few models for at a time. My tastes seem too change too rapidly for me to do that, I dunno if any of my original wargaming stuff has held up to my changing interests

yea, it goes slow more because i get sick of painting red if i do it to often (and the bulk of the army is stuff i've gotten second hand and stripped/refurbished).
also, base red has been applied, once it dries i can move on to the several layers of ink i use to get the right, consistant red i try for with the army

Found my old Ogre Kingdoms stuff so thought I'd work out how to rebase as a KoW ogre army. Couple of hundred points short of 1500 which could easily be filled with a war mammoth but I haven't got one and can't find one in a usable size.
So, one quick trip to toys 'r us later and... War Hippo!
Fear the war hippo.

Probably would be legitimately more scary than an elephant/mammoth in real life

Putting together and painting the goblins I got on the cheap from Battle for Skull Pass (they ain't bad, if a little limited in poses) and a big ol goblin on a giant spider (super cool model!)
I play...
Sigh.
Who am I kidding? I only paint these days...

Trying to get a D&D campaign going, which I'll be hosting as the Dungeon Master...
Spoiler:
(I've never played a tabletop RPG before save a couple intro games, and neither have any of the other players. There was an experienced RPG gamer who was supposed to be hosting the campaign but he's stopped attending the club so I had to step in. So I'm pretty much cannon balling into the deep end. With an anchor tied to my ankle...
Met one of the players today and went through character creation with him...
We came up with an "agnostic" Charlatan anti-social bastard hill dwarf Cleric. (thats the good sort of facepalm btw, in a "this is so fething stupid its genius!" way ).
Spoiler:
The background is...hes a Charlatan (con-man), good at persuasion, deception and sleight of hand ("borrowing" things that don't belong to you). He likes to talk his way into organizations so he can rise through the ranks and learn what he can from them before robbing them blind and making his escape.
Lately, he infiltrated a Temple and became a novice Cleric. He robbed the Temple and then left, without being detected. He now travels under his new false identity as an itinerant Cleric. Hes so good at deception, that he's even fooled his *chosen God* into thinking he's a genuine worshiper. He's not. Whilst he believes in the existence of Gods, he doesn't particularly care about them and their desires and doesn't (genuinely) worship them (though he makes a show of it for appearances sake), he's just in it for the magical power. So...sort of "agnostic".
(*player hasn't picked the God yet. Also needs to pick his spells and roll to see how much money he has. Considering he robbed a Temple, I might give him double what he rolls. )

I thought that was Agnostic? Acknowledge without worship/respect/supreme-being whatever. But Theology is faaaar from my best subject
Sounds amusing.
He had better watch out, paying lip service to deities in D&D usually leads to...consequences... though depending on the god he may be serving their purposes just fine without even realizing it, the double crosser has been double crossed!
Gonna take a jaunt to Hobby Lobby to look for inspiration, though I've got plenty to do.

Yeah, probably. Amended the post.

He's such a good Con-man that's even got his God convinced he's a genuine worshiper.
18 Charisma - proficient in Deception, Persuasion, Sleight of Hand and...Medicine. I guess he payed attention in Medical class.

He is a faith leach, bad things happen to those when they die You can get the stats for a lot of the gods in D&D I wonder if he could get away with it if the god them self look into it.
It is always fun to have characters like that

While this is forgotten realms specific, the gods have been down on the surface at least one time too, and don't forget avatars and greater servants. He'll probably get away on it but realize that 18 charisma is going to only go so far in relation to such a powerful entity. Sounds fun enough, bad things happening to those characters is funny anyway

Mass Priming of a legion scale (not counting what I've already primed): 4 Centurions (Chaplain, Champion, Mortait, Terminator Medicae), a command squad, 20 tactical marines, 5 terminators, 10 breachers, a land raider, a vindicator, a drop pod, and a partridge in a pear tree (DE Archon + Gortun Grundback)
on top of that I'd like to finish my last for Horgenhold Forge Guard, and finally get started on my display for my legion
I'll never be able to repay CA for making GW realize that The Old World was a cash cow, left to die in a field.

Was possibly up for a game tomorrow, looks lke it won't happen now but regardless have managed two things, firstly actually having all my Nids painted.. secondly discovering my codex is probably not the most recent one.
such is life. Does the most recent Nid book have formations in it? (if it does, I've got the one before... and have never used used it)

Bugs look good, can't help you out on the codex... I think I'm two or three editions back myself.
I got my combined Dreadball Xtreme and Kings of War order in today. Gonna riffle(apparently, this is the correct verb, as to rifle would be a frantic search..the things you learn..) through that a bit later and make some nice piles to verify that I got everything. It already looks like I got some bonus stuff I didn't order so that's cool

Actually managed a game of 40k... to the amazement of the crew at the shop who appeared to have forgotten the game existed.
600pts (as thats all the Nids I have) v similar IG, well my carnifex "cuddles" survived, even if nothing else did, the smug swing is using a bit of Leman Russ as a tooth pick and the barrel as a back scratcher while the battered remains of the rest of them look on..

Finishing my flyer foam trays. I got a 4" tray for Tau Sun/Tiger Shark.... And then realized that I can double them up, or use the foam inserts to make a fake bottom and another layer for my minis.
In this case, it will be DX-4 Remora drones. More updates on the way.
