I just finished the Helbrute from the Dark Vengeance box. Just wanted to share and hear your opinions on it.

Love the colour scheme! Ive seen a lot of hellbrutes recently where the skin/flesh is still painted the same colour as the armour. I much prefer to see it as flesh like you've done Also really like the molten look to the armour.

only downside imo, is the all flock base. I think it would really be an improvement to see him on a more stoney/sandy/ruined base. At the moment he looks like hes stood in a lovely field filled with flowers and the birds and bees. I wana see him destroying worlds! But gj

Favourite Game: When your Warboss on bike wrecks 3 vehicles simply by HoW - especially when his bike is a custom monowheel.

I agree with solar shock about the base, but the armour and flesh are awesome!

If you rebased it with gravel and rock, maybe a bit of destroyed vehicle/building and some corpses you would be set.

Haha, you're right, of course. My girlfriend and I currently use a GW battle mat on our living room table, on that the base looks fine cause it blends into the ground. In the long run I'll create interchangable board tiles and then I will remodel the base with painted sand and some burned grass spots.

But! When the CSM invade beautiful worlds to destroy them they step over meadows of grass when attacking! It's only burned after the war

I like him.

A Heretic may see the truth and seek redemption. He may be forgiven his past and will be absolved in death. A Traitor can never be forgiven. A Traitor will never find peace in this world or the next. There is nothing as wretched or as hated in all the world as a Traitor. - Cardinal Khrysdam, Instructum Absolutio

I assume you play as Hakanor's Reavers?
I've painted my helbrute up as them and it looks very very similar to what you have painted.
Fantastic model but I do agree that you should add something more to the base.

Looks great. Well done on the model. The grass mat makes the base make sense, as well!
