Mini classic camo looks much better than I expected! But I think I'm still going to stick to Mini DigiCam

Wow, our campaign is going from strength to strength, with a total of 29 designs unlocked now, simply amazing! And also, thanks to all my great Dakka Backers!

here are the latest updates;

Pin-up Silhouettes -1
.
A whole sheet of Pin-up Silhouettes to add a little nose art/wing to your aircraft or whatever other uses you can think of. There will be various sizes, and many more designs than those show here

.
You could even use them to make a fun camo
.

.
Oozing Drips
.
Several different sized strips of drips, can be applied in a single layer, or in multiple layers for different effects.

Make your vehicles look like they have been painted to look like they are running with blood, slime, oil, grime, or some other substance.
.

WW2 USA Stars
.
These were unlocked a while ago, but i have finally got some painted pics done.
Many types of star in multiple sizes, suitable for many scales.
.

WW2 German Crosses

Similar to the USA Stars, multple styles and sizes, suitable for many scales.
.
.

Flecktarn has some obvious influences in the WW2 SS camoflague patterns, particularly oak leaf and pea-dot patterns, but it's much more recent than WW2. It's also probably pretty impossible as a stencil for figurines, though it wouldn't be too hard to paint by hand...

Thanks, Azazel!

Less than a week left, this has snuck up on me! Got the funds in my Paypal account though, so I should be good to go (for the UK kickstarters I use the Paypal MasterCard so my bank doesn't have to convert it... works great!)

Yep, not long now :-)

Beasts of war have just posted one of the videos i made with them last week.
This is obviously isnt a finished paintjob, but gives you a view of one possible use for our stencils,

check it out!

Some of the new patterns look awesome!

While I am not too sure how often I will use these, I have decided to give backing it a try - I might use them, and even if I don't - I do believe in supporting quality projects.

(as a side note: to the guy who thought an airbrush and compressor are "half a grand" - that is not even remotely the case - see one of the dozens of airbrush threads in the painting forum, so we don't clutter up this one).

HALF A GRAND

My first airbrush and compressor cost me £80 complete ok not the best in the world but it got me started, then I bought a better compressor and airbrush which was around £500 but thats a later investment.

My first kit would work easily with these stencils. I still use it today for undercoating and large areas

I'm assuming that's a reference to one of my earlier posts.

Thanks for the help. *facepalm*

A cursory Amazon search indicates I can snag a rocking Master Airbrush kit for $150 after S&H, which is more than I can justify spending on tools at the moment, but at least I now know it's an option.

Freebies! The mark of any good kickstarter ; ) We were already getting freebies, but I won't say no to more ; ) 2K more funding in 4 days... the usual kickstarter last day funding should cover that I hope. Coverage on Beasts of War and Ichiban should help too. The KS is now excellent value compared to other retail offerings of similar products, not to mention seeming to be superior quality.

Major Stretch Goal - £14,500 = Upgrades to many Pledge levels

Update #28 · Oct 2, 2013
Again, thanks so much for all your support, our little project is now moving way beyond where I hoped it might end up, and its all down to you!

There may well be a other things I can squeeze in before this goal, but I figured I would let you know about this one nice and early

Major Stretch Goal - £14,500

So far all the goals have been to unlock new designs, or small freebies, now its time for a REAL stretch goal, but one I think is achievable in the time left, especially if you guys help promote the project a little too (thanks for the great work you have done so far :-) ).

If we reach 14.5k, we will upgrade the following pledge levels.

+ 3's Groovy Baby! - (including its early birds) upgraded to include 2 in 3 of all unlocked freebies (up from 1 in 3)
+ 5 times The Fun - (including its early birds) upgraded to include an extra half sheet of stencils from a set list (Its a set list as some designs won't work properly as 1/2 a sheet, list to follow. 1/2 a sheet = about A5 size)
+ 7th Heaven - upgraded to include 1 extra stencil sheet of your choice, from those unlocked during the campaign. (for a total of 8)
+ Ten is the magic number - (including its early birds) upgraded to include 2 extra stencil sheets of your choice, from those unlocked during the campaign. (for a total of 12)
+ Twenty is Plenty - upgraded to include 2 extra stencil sheets of your choice, from those unlocked during the campaign. (for a total of 22)
+ You Want How Many?? - upgraded to include 4 extra stencil sheets of your choice, from those unlocked during the campaign. (for a total of 54)

NOTE: As mentioned before, you may only choose up to 10 of any single design, this is a kickstarter rule.

thanks
Brian.

Well i did come here to mention our latest update, but seems Yonan beat me to it!

thanks mate

So anyway, as Yonan posted above, our new stretch goal is to add even more value to many of the pledge levels, and we are already a good chunk of the way there, i'm pretty sure we can do it!

I also popped in to show you some more painted models.
These all came from the lovely people at Antenocitis workshop.

This is definitely something to watch for. I'm interested in it for the upcoming ROBOTECH minis but I'm having a bit of trouble visuallizing the stencils on 28mm sized models. I don't know if there are any legal issues with using nonhistorical minis (painters seem to do it all the time selling finished minis). Could you instead just show us how the mini patterns look on a humanoid mini roughly 28mm in scale or slighly larger? Something that fills out a 40mm base works well for me.

I'll see what i have kicking around.

would a black and white line drawing and a ruler work? or you need it on a mini?

I'd take whatever you can make. A mini would be ideal but a paper cutout of a humanoid 28-40mm mini with a piece of a "mini" stencil like camo or stripes could work. Basically, something humanoid of about that size (40k terminator) for those of us interested in possibly using it on non-traditional vehicles. Thanks for the quick reply!

Well, as we come in to the final couple days of our kickstarter, our major stretch goal is already smashed, so many of the pladges will be upgraded (you can see this list above, or on update 28 of the kickstarter.

Here is a direct link to the campaign main page http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/805848592/anarchy-models-hd-stencil-system-for-camo-and-deta

Also, here is our latest video from Beasts of War

A few on here have mentioned using our stencils on Dropzone Commander, so here is a couple pics for you.

Both were done with the mini Hexo Cam.
The first pic it was used in the normal way, as shown in the Video above.

the 2nd pic it was used as a Negative stencil, so i painted all the main colours first, and added the hexo energy barrier last.

cheers,
Brian

Sweet, a dropzone commander model! But I think I'll be using the stencil on the whole model for mine

Hope you get a big surge at the end, don't give away the farm, though! I'd like you to be in business for a long time so I can get some stencil restocks in the future

mini Flames is easy, there is already a pretty small one on the normalflames sheet which is a mix of sizes.
I'll see if i can squeeze it in.

for the pin-ups, im not sure, how small are you talking? as in height wise?

RiTides wrote:Sweet, a dropzone commander model! But I think I'll be using the stencil on the whole model for mine

...........:

thats fine i was just trying to show different uses.

The guys at from Dropzone did ask me to do the Hex Grid on that one, but it would be too small, so that was the next best thing.

Not long now guys, only 48 hours left on the clock

Something that can fit on a space marine shoulder pad roughly size wise. Small enough to fit on a 15mm vehicle/airplane tail without turning it into one of those weird Japanese Idol planes.

Hey guys.

Now rememeber earlier when i said i didnt think i could do mini grids....

I was wrong!!

These 2 are now unlocked and added to the campaign;
(You can see the update here: http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/805848592/anarchy-models-hd-stencil-system-for-camo-and-deta/posts/619564

Mini Hex Grid
.

.
Mini Dragon Scales
.

.
The scales are actually all the same size and shape, its just an optical illusion from the angle I took the picture. see just near the ruler for the actual size.

thanks

Looking forward to seeing mini hex grid on a model. Still no chance of stencils small enough for 28mm troops? Digital camo alone would be awesome, but if it's still a no go, no biggie. Plenty of other great options to choose for bigger models ; )

The end of kickstarter funds are flowing in nicely!

I don't think it's really feasible to do stencils for troops. At that level, you're better off with freehand or decals.

.....!

I'm afraid Breotan is right, for most cloth wearing infantry at wargaming scales, they are just not practical.
I just did some tests, and its VERY tricky to position them, would take a long time per model, and they dont work over creases in the cloth, as they are too small to go in, and out of the crease, and still remain stuck.

I could do some aimed at use on guys in big smooth armour, but from my tests, they would take a LONG time to make, and so i would have to do a smaller sheet or higher price on those.
But again they would be tricky and time consuming to use.

thanks

Agreed! I even jacked up my pledge at the last minute because there were so many designs that I couldn't choose only three.

Now showing skeletons for Mantic's Dungeon Saga!

Painting total as of 12 July 2025: 88 plus a Deva King statue
