I hate be the dumb one on this thread, but can someone explain why it matters whether or not you hit with the first shot? I guess I'm missing something

How does the thunder fire work, like why does it matter whether you hit on the first shot or not

Its a barrage weapon. Check the BRB about barrage.

The thing that my opponent forgot about the TFC is it can fire four str 6 shots without line of sight into the side armour of his hidden Manticore.

Popping that Manty turn one before it could fire was quite satisfying.

found a site to get them for cheap, and now want to run 4

there my anti infintry,

have 3 squads of melta LotD for anti tank

lots of PCs on tac marines for anti MeQ and TeQs

and a grav cammand squad for riptides wriathnights and the like.

I have very bad views with grav weapons. Absolutely useless vs horde nids and orks... Which is why I intend to run a few TFC.

That's actually what happened, Horus is secretly a Tervigon.

I wanna say 1.5 as it entire depends on local meta. having one is useful as usually everyone and there grandma likes to hide in some kinda of ruin with an objective. it usually being something kinda squishy.

I don't really see you needing more than one. The TFC is a bargain at 100 pts because you sort of get a free techmarine, but having more than one is superfluous, unless everyone in your meta plays horde orks.

My meta doesn't do FW, so those are not options for me. But I seriously have a hard time finding empty slots for it as it stands. Depending on the list, but I run two Preds or two Devistator squads and then fill in. Heck, for indirect, I would rather have a Whirlwind dropping pie plates.

Been playing 40k on and off since 89.

So TFC not your favourite? Its nice to see someone who runs Whirlwinds
