Ah yes, homoeroticism in the Horus Heresy. A subject very near and dear to my heart. As some of us have pointed out, there are quite a few homoerotic moments within the series. This thread's purpose is to compile an archive of homoerotic moments within the series proper.

I shall start (And try to provide the actual quote once I get around to finding it).

Magnus the Red being given a full-body sorcery sponge bath by his ranking officers. While Magnus is wearing only a loincloth.

"Magnus the Red stood directly below the device, looking up through the crystal into the night sky directly above the centre of Occullum Square.
He was naked but for a loincloth, his flesh bare to the elements and gleaming with oil.
Ahriman watched as Amon massaged a mixture of sandalwood, jasmine and benzoin oil into Magnus’ flesh. Uthizzar scraped the excess oil from
the primarch’s body with a bone-bladed knife as Auramagma held a smoking censer that filled the air with the fragrance of cinquefoil. Phael Toron
stood next to Ahriman, his body language stiff and awkward.
Phael Toron’s 7th Fellowship had spent the majority of the Great Crusade on Prospero, missing much of the great learning undertaken by the
Legion since Magnus had led them from their adoptive home world. His warriors had quickly accepted the new teachings, but it was going to take
time for them to fully adjust.
“Is this all necessary?” asked Toron"

Can't really give an accurate page, since I own the book in pdf format, but is in chapter 23 of A Thousand Sons.

"He had just finished his first set when Nemiel lurched over the
line with a strangled gasp and collapsed beside him, his chest
heaving and sweat pouring from him in sheets.
‘You took your time,’ said Zahariel, an unaccustomed edge of
spite in his voice.
Nemiel shook his head, unable, for the moment, to reply.
Zahariel offered his cousin his hand and said, ‘Come on, you
need to stretch.’
His cousin waved his hand away, gasping for air and keeping
his eyes squeezed shut. Zahariel knelt down and began massaging
his cousin’s legs, working out the knots of tension in his
muscles with hard sweeps of his fingertips.
‘That hurts!’ cried Nemiel.

his lip as Zahariel carried on with his ministrations, his breathing
gradually becoming more even as his body began to recover
from the exertions of the race. At last, Nemiel was able to sit up,
and Zahariel began working the tension from his shoulders."

The Ultramarines, of course, with their Greco-Roman influences (and chiseled, Greco-Roman butts), are probably the progenitor Chapter for all of these silly shenanigans, but they cannot top the Minotaurs for their absolutely *faaabulous* wargear options.

I still remember a very romantic moment between Perturabo and Fulgrim in Angel Exterminatus. If I recall the scene correctly, Fulgrim held Perturabo in his strong arms while whispering sweet tender words into his brother’s ear. Unable to resist the charms of his brother, Perturabo became weak in his knees. He didn’t even object to Fulgrim when the latter was about to “prepare” him.

I haven't started the series yet but this is all pretty off-putting.

So you're put off by poorly written male interaction in a background that is almost entirely devoid of explicit sexual content, but not by all the rest of the random carnage, murder and genocide?

I don't like that they have the brother primarchs acting that way, yeah. It seems very out of place.

Don't worry, it's not a prominent theme or anything. Just a few "odd" moments that can be interpreted in a gay way if you want.

Yeah, I'll still read them for sure, but I'll fast-forward through strange scenes like the ones mentioned here. LOL.

You can see most things in the HH series if you want to. After a thread discussing overused pieces of language in the HH series I snigger whenever someones "choler" is said to rise.

Difficult to find and count moments of homoeroticism in novels about battle brothers that only have feelings for their fellow battle brothers

Far less homoerotic than most of the Space Marine books or Matt Wards warp dust warped mind.
