So I have a BT army I am workong on expanding and I got a chaos predator from someone as a gift and exchanging it is gonna be hard cause its from a different state. So I know its basically 90% the same model. But the lascannon tips are deamon heads. And I thought about making it look dragon ish but dragon plus BT doesnt make sense to me really. So is there a easy conversion, or just leave them as deamonish heads?

Aren't the dragon bits optional add-ons?

The Dragon heads are optional. It's exactly the same as the imperial version.

Call them dragon heads and say the tank or the lascanon were a gift from the Salamanders for something the BTs did for them.

Meh seems simple enough to cut it off and glue a piece of plasticard tube on it.

Is this even something the salamanders would do?

Let's say a crusade fleet saved a whole lof of them. In recognition of this the Salamanders chapter presents a couple of decorated lascanon barrels.

except that the imperial accessory sprue (which has the KH-missile launcher) is replaced by the chaos accessory sprue and pointy bits. Instead of HK launcher, you get a havoc launcher. If you're okay with filing off the chaotics off the hatches--or ave other hatches that dont have chaotics on them--you're fine. It's just going to be another plain old rhino, without an HK missile option, and oodles of bits for your terrain or whatever.

the kit is in every way identical, except for the lack of the SM accessory sprue (which probably also includes cables, oil cans, a different ram/prow.... And the CSM kit instead has two/three extra sprues. I'm repeating myself here, but the one sprue is all the vehicle options, two types of "dozer" (ram), crew member, storm bolter with combi-flamer attachment, havoc launcher, hatches with csm stars on them...... and then one/two sprues of spiky chaosification bits that do nothing but make the model a bloody pain to transport. The dragon-heads are all optional parts that are attached later on.

i really don't see what sate boundaries have to do with it. IF you really want the SM sprue instead, and you've still got it in shrink-wrap, then call your local GW or FLGS and see if you can do an exchange. Most times they probably won't mind as the value should be identical, and, i mean, an SM tank is an SM tank is an SM tank......

Why wouldn't you use the havoc launcher as a HK missile? They both fire missiles, if it's a space marine vehicle then you know it can't be a havoc launcher. I think the chaos searchlight and grenade launchers are nicer too.

grenade launchers? smoke launchers maybe? Yeah the CSM smoke launchers are pretty dang good-looking and make for useful conversions on infantry weapons. As for the havoc launcher, I'd rather just save a pair of them and call it a whirlwind.
