The backpack looks cool and will hold a GW figure case, but it is $100 US. The backpack that came with the Apocalypse Gamer's Edition in October 2007 added only $11 to price of that bundle and you can buy it without the GW patches for $40 or less (http://www.thewarstore.com/product38151.html).

I'm not sure how this thread is "news", pictures of these bundles are in the latest White Dwarf and the GW gift catalog that came with it and have been readily available for three weeks since the magazine went on sale in late October. The adverts in White Dwarf even state the amount of savings over buying the contents of the bundle deals separately, though it's worth doing the additional arithmetic to calculate the percentage savings for comparison to other discounters. In the US the Eldar bundle deal has the highest discount at 33% savings. If I recall, the Tau deal is about a 23% savings in the US.

...Who actually wants to be seen wearing that monstrosity, though? And really, what current day armies still fit in one case?
And if you're going to be paying for a case and a bag anyway, why not go either KR or BF? either will likely be cheaper at that point, and while I wouldn't want to be seen with BF bags without a convenient raincover either, both in flexibility and quality, both those options would be much better than the bloody awkward GW ABS cases.

I have seen canvas bags for 20$ at military surplus stores, that look better and more sturdy. You must be a diehard fan to pay 85 € for this.

What on earth is that hideous red thing with the grinny face in the middle of the beastmen army box?

Did I miss another super-crappy beastman release this year, or is that a new model?

It's the Warriors of Chaos Slaughterbeast.
The basic premise of the Slaughterbeast is that it is a daemonic critter ritually bound to a specific hero in your army list. They can be unbound, but then (if I remember right) they're starting the game as Frenzied.

That whole box is for Warriors of Chaos, not Beastmen.

Good thing they separated the Chaos humans from the beasts and daemons some years ago

I was never 100% convinced anyway. Having said that, these releases are for this month (specifically tomorrow), and nothing to do with December anyway.

If you can keep your head, while all about you are losing their's, then you have probably completely misunderstood the situation!

Because getting socks/jumpers/aftershave is better?

Christmas is all about being greedy, it has been since Coca Cola won Christmas off some drunk Elves in 1932in a game of 'chance'.

My entire Christmas list distributed to my family read 'fat stacks of cash' because when I wrote it I was expecting a January Tyranid launch. I'm all if favour of the greed.

I still don't see this in Canada yet. Any ideas on how much it might be? I might actually be tempted if the price is right on those kits for us because GW always prices things oddly here.

The Slaughter Brute is $100 here, so if the special kits are about $250 - 300 it might be worth while for me.
