I don't know if this warrants its own thread, but I didn't want to revive the dead one.

Mantic has replaced my defective, "buttless" brock by sending me an entire baggy full of brock riders. I tend to be a harsh critic sometimes, (no, no--it's true) but I can't think of any time I haven't received great customer service from Mantic. I've contacted them about all kinds of Kickstarter related issues and even grammar mistakes in their pdf rulebooks, and they've always treated me like a respectable individual they cared about. The extra free stuff also tends to bias me in their favor, but I'm not so naive to believe myself above the cold calculus of Realkustomerservike. Long story short, Mantic may not always measure twice before they cut once, but they always go above and beyond to fix it for you*.

I'm pleased that you didn't get shafted over the brock's gaping anus and that Mantic has sent a swarm of badgers and naked dwarves in the mail to compensate.

That's good news to hear, and for a long time, my experiences were also good. I just wish I were having a similar time now, as I'm still waiting for my (and my wife's) KoW pledge issues to be sorted out. (last I heard was a week ago when Tim said he'd get back to me "tomorrow' to confirm my stuff went out. Also sent them some questions about the Digital art book and digital rulebooks I missed the DL timeframe for. (Again, over a week ago with no response...)

I'm shocked my work's internet allows access to this page!

“Good people are quick to help others in need, without hesitation or requiring proof the need is genuine. The wicked will believe they are fighting for good, but when others are in need they’ll be reluctant to help, withholding compassion until they see proof of that need. And yet Evil is quick to condemn, vilify and attack. For Evil, proof isn’t needed to bring harm, only hatred and a belief in the cause.”

I had a similar issue: one horse was so warped it was unusable, and Tim sent me a full new bag of horses. All of my customer service with Mantic has been on par with GW's, as we all know has near perfect CS. Mantic has been great about this.*

*again, unless you're nkelsch

Reality is a nice place to visit, but I'd hate to live there.

Yeah, I'm keen to get my Dreadball issues resolved before Deadzone starts shipping (it'll be impossible to get any response at that point) but I'm now getting out of office responses and 'high volume of emails' autoreplies, 2 and a half weeks after being told the details of my missing bits were being passed to the warehouse manager (and it had taken over two weeks to get that response from my initial contact).

Yeah. I first got in contact with them about this 2 weeks before the MA kickstarter even started... I think it might be time for another phone call to the other side of the planet...

All in all, Mantic KS is great. * A bag of my KS freebie mummies was missing an arm and a body and another bit or two; Mantic sent me a whole new bag of ten mummies. They also let me combine my points order with my replacement shipment so I wouldn't have to pay shipping.

Sarah also just let me purchase the metal Fleabag archer bits seperately from the unit.

There's always been a hole in my life that can only be filled by hirsute dwarfs. And their badgers.

Wow, that's terrible. I knew you had some issues, but I figured that in this case no news was good news and Mantic had taken care of it. Want me to write an agitated letter to them on your behalf? I think I have the email contacts for half of Mantic's employees by now.

Have you received any communication from Sarah? She seems to be the one who handles this stuff now. But she's new.

No, it was Tim that was passing my details on two weeks ago. Sarah was one of the people I tried contacting this week, she's the person with the "high volume of emails" autoreply.

Every email I've sent to Sarah gets that autoreply but I always get a response from her within 12-16 hours (depending on when I send the email)

I called them. Spoke to Tim again. He apologised, said he's been in the warehouse mostly and said my stuff went out "last week" and to call him back if it doesn't turn up in "a couple of weeks". (it was supposed to have been sent out on the 31st/1st - or at least in the shipping queue.)

I emailed Sarah who got back to me in a couple of days about/with the missing PDFs, so at least that's finally sorted. So now - as usual - I'm playing the waiting game and hoping to be finished with the KoW KS by December.

Let me know what you think of the Art book.

Especially in light of the $5 cost.

By the way, I never got the Basilean Legacy PDF. Was that one we had to buy extra? If so... is it worth the $20 it costs in real life?

The only PDF people got for free was Kings & Legends and the Bloodstone of Cerillion.

I bought the physical Basilean Legacy book. Totally worth the dough, especially to see myself in print.

Yeah, Basilean Legacy is a great buy, has all the new magic items and magic rules in it as well as the 3 new army lists.

Turns out James has been sick, which would explain why I've not heard anything from him either. Oh well, too late to do anything before Deadzone now, I guess I'll just go gripe on the internet.

Oh wait....

I can add my story to the thread while I'm at it. I ordered the season 2 Dreadball book from the Mantic site and due to an error on my part I selected my country as United Arab Emirates instead of USA. Well needless to say I didn't get my shipment when I thought I would. So I contacted Mantic and they confirmed MY error and fixed it at no extra cost to me. I offered to at least pay shipping but they wouldn't have it. On top of that, James sent me a link to the pdf version that the Kickstarter's received so I could go ahead and read up on it while I was waiting for my book to arrive. Top notch!

I wish all the success in the world to Mantic and when they get huge (and I hope they do) I hope they keep this level of support and contact with their customers that I've seen thus far.

This...this is fantastic customer service folks. The customer makes the goof and not only do they add no additional charge to fix it, they give him free digital material to tide him over until his paperback shows up. Does it cost them anything extra? Nope, it's electronic and doesn't take any additional resources, but it makes for one helluva happy customer (I'm assuming you're happy, please correct me if I'm wrong ). No additional charge would have been slightly above average CS, throwing free additional product in with it is astronomical!*

Will they correct my goof with a free PDF? It seems I forgot to buy the Basilean Legacy PDF. Oops. My bad.

My missing Dreadball stuff turned up unannounced today, so thanks to whoever at Mantic sorted me out. Now I can go back to be grumpy about not going to the open day this time around.

In the meantime, I'm still waiting for the 9 models missing from the Ogres Army set, out of a total of 19. Granted, I didn't contact Mantic directly, instead letting my local store handle it, which they did by calling the central store in the capital. They said they would send the 3 bags missing as replacement, but some 2 weeks later I'm still waiting. I am patient... yet.

Whups, didn't reply to this. The art book is ok for a browse, but honestly, I don't value it at anything. That's be though, "digital art books" are pretty much bs for the most part. Art books, yes - "digital" art books? May as well Google Image Search. I wouldn't pay more than $5-10 for a printed copy of the Mantic art book, and $10 would require a hardcover. (And yes, I'm a guy who actually buys physical art books).
