There are a few things that are common across nearly all regions, social strata, races, etc. in America,
PB+J is one of those things. Baseball, apple pie, muscle cars, and steak are definitely part of "American culture" Things like gumbo and jambalaya, pizza, BBQ ribs, etc fall into the various "subcultures" (if you want to call them that) as each region will have its own way of doing it.
