Seems pretty in line with existing prices.

We knew these prices at adepticon. What's the issue?

Yes. GenCon. Whoops. At least I got the last part of the word correct, right?

Close, but it's not like when you bullseye womp rats in your T-16 back home.

Cool! FFG doesn't have them listed on the Upcoming page yet, so I doubt the release date will be anytime soon :/

Yeah, I was talking with my FLGS owner about this, and he had mentioned that his distributor(s) didn't have them up, so we theorized that the pre-orders were simply a way of these stores to figure out how many they actually needed.

:/

Prices seem reasonable to me. Those are big ships.

I'm sure they are reasonable, I'm chalking it up to sticker shock considering how low priced everything seems. And to be fair, you're getting more than just those ships. Looking at the Rebel Transport box it's the transport and an X-wing. taking the cost of the x-wing out (assuming that is part of the pricing strategy), you're paying 45 dollars for the Transport, the epic rules, cards, dials, new templates, etc... That's not bad to be honest, and if it was just the ship I'd have no problem with 45 bucks. The Tantive IV is what bugs me though... It's 90 dollars and all you're getting is the Tantive and the standard affair for X-Wing packs (dials, templates, cards, epic rules like the Rebel Transport)

I kind of see what you mean. The way I am imagining the Blockade Runner (based on the GenCon pics), however, it's just a huge amount of plastic. The engine block alone is like two Mil Falcs.

You're right, the price might be justified, but that's still a lot. A little bit more more can get you the base game (which you need), and 4 small sized ships (or 2 small and a large).

I don't think these are aimed at people who don't already have the base game and a large fleet.

I know they're not, but I have a 'decent' fleet. I've got at least one of every ship released, but I don't have enough ships for 'competitive lists' and while I was able to justify the price of the Rebel Transport, but there doesn't seem to be much of a reason to justify the price of the Tantive.

Like I said a few posts ago, it's sticker shock. We've been playing this game for a year and some change. To date the most expensive thing we've had to buy has cost us 40 dollars (the core set), now they're bringing out one kit that's 20 dollars more, but comes with an additional X-wing, so the larger ship is somewhere in the range of $45, which isn't too bad. The 90 dollar price tag of the Tantive is a lot harder to swallow without anything else tagging along.

I have a generous fleet and can make any build I want (except 4 Y-wings together). I look forward to the big ships. Bring em on.

I hope I can find a UK price equivalent to those savings.

I think the price is very reasonable for the transport and x-wing escort. The x-wing itself is worth about £10, so you basically pay £35 for a huge, new and unique ship, which will be the centrepiece of your fleet. However, I think Tantive 4 is a bit overpriced, but you only need one in your fleet.

Been waiting for these, but they came a bit too late for christmas....

1. Go to FLGS on a 40K game night.
2. Announce to no one in particular "I have over 10,000 points of Space Marines".
3. Sit back and watch as some 30-ish Neckbeard who still lives with his parents not only disputes your claim, but goes on to describe his 30,000 points of Blood Angels and how he has been playing since Rogue Trader days... And yet you will have never seen him either play 40K or that army.
4. From here, you have several options. Continue the conversation, or just end it. Either way, I guarantee you will waste 1+ hour of your life talking to this guy. Have fun!

Ordered the transport.
A new x-wing with associated cards can never be a bad thing, plus the transport will be amazing for scenarios. Protect the transport anyone?

Now to try and justify the tantive IV :S

I am guessing it will come with something as well, even if only some cool counter for scenario play.
