Provided we could effectively communicate, of course...

It would have to be this guy. I need some balance in my life as well as ways to deal with the pain that life occasionally brings.

Themistocles. Herodotus portrays him both as a hero and a guy greedy for money. It would be cool to see how much he got right.

On the Herodotean theme, I'd like to meet Xerxes as well, to see if he was actually an idiot.

I would say Elizabeth Anscombe, just so I could make a joke about talking action theory, if you know what I mean. . . but she just wasn't hot. So much lost potential.

Apparently she wasn't even at Troy, but in Egypt the entire time.

It wouldn't be a problem, except it's the only damn frame of reference used in school. Frankly, I didn't care for it. I had an immensely easy time with it with my access of the German language, so the grammar didn't trip me up, I enjoyed a couple of odd parts, but, by and large, despised it. When there was something I would have liked or prefered to have studied, wasn't an option. Macbeth, hamlet and Romeo and Juliet. I dreaded reading merchant of Venice because of it, but found it enjoyable. I would also have prefered to have done Titus. Not read through the of one of the holy sanctified classical trinity mentioned before, play in class, then watch another rendition of it in class, followed by yet another rendition of the same play...... English class was on my lowest rung and remains because of steadfast adherence to a status quo, that fails to get students excited about, well, English.

Temujin might be an interesting person to meet, so would Plato, Socrates and that entourage, along with Leonids and crew, but I"m torn between these and the Vikings, as well as st. Stephen and koppany.

I think that Shakespeare really depends on how it's taught. I hated Romeo and Juliet with one teacher, but with another I really liked Twelfth Night and Henry V. The man was a genius, to be fair to him, if he did write his plays.

Which Viking would you like to speak to though? Someone like Ragnar Lodbrok would be different to Harald Hardrade or Canute the Great - one being a pagan badass, the other two being more imperialistic christians.

Isambard Kingdom Brunell would be an excellent guy to talk to, but I want his friend and rival there too Robert Stephenson, they wer elike the Jobs/Gates of their day, only they had the balls to forge a new Country, building vast bridges and faster ships. They were real men

I could go on all day.

I'd meet Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. I'd love to ask him this question.

Given you wrote about Sherlock Holmes solving every crime with reason and logic, even supposedly supernatural phenomenon like 'The Hound of the Baskervilles' why are there quotes from you on record that you believe in fairies?

Also, Leonardo Da Vinci.

Hitler, just before world war 2. We would meet and shake hands, he would ask me how i liked his germany, and i would reply it is magnificent. He would then turn away so we could walk to his foyer, at which point i would shoot him in the back of the head.

and proceed to have someone else have step in and perpatrate either the same atrocity, or another one. You don't avert atrocities just by shooting some bloke in the head. If you seriously think that's the case, you really need to undertake an in-depth study of sociology and history. If you've already taken an in-depth study, then let me know what institution you went to to have your degree rescinded.
