Ladders? I used to be afraid of heights as a child, but having to work on ladders, elevated platforms, and in shafts helped me get over it.

I'm terrified of hypodermic needles (borderline trypanophobia) and things like having to have blood drawn can cause me to pass out. That and house centipedes. I don't mind spiders and other creepy crawlies, but house centipedes give me the willies real bad.

empty buildings. They scare the feth out of me. Just looking into empty windows makes me feel like I'm being watched and judged.

I love living in the city, but the sheer number of abandoned buildings literally paralyzes me with fear, to the point that I can't walk around at night. I'm not afraid of people, but the streets and streets of uninhabited buildings watching me.

Emptyness in general is horrifying. when you're out in the middle of nowhere, not a soul in reach and miles and miles of empty space separating you from where you need to be.

blindness. I would rather slit my throat than be blind. or deaf. I would rather slit my throat than a lot of things, but those in particular.

Mutilation. Mutilation is horrifying.

I dunno, I always found a beauty to emptiness. Like this is what reality would be like if we weren't here. As if I'm observing what no one else is and that fact makes it more special.

Though empty buildings are creepy. Especially big ones.

Windows during the night.

I love big windows during the day time, lots of light and pretty views.

But at night, just having those giant black squares staring back at me...I'm always expecting something to suddenly show up.

Bees and raccoon. Apparently, I just learned that the plural form of raccoon is also raccoon. I was chased by a rabid one when I was a kid. I suppose I should be afraid of rabies instead, but my youthful mind became afraid of raccoon. They don't bother me at all on tv, while bees in all forms and photography scare the hell out of me. Feth bees. They all need to die. The wasps have to go first. If it flies and it stings you, I consider it a bee. The list is long. Let them all die.

edit-apparently I have to edit my post, because the site found the shortening of the word "raccoon" to be racist. Clearly I am talking about the furry little garbage digging varmint that carries rabies, not any member of the human race. Grrr...

Being hated by people. The thought that someone might hold a grudge against me and might use that grudge against me can lead to several days full of worry, especially if that person is someone I know or if that person has already done something bad to me because of the hate. Because of this, I tend to apologize quite a bit for things I have or might not have even done and stay away from debates or conflicts.

That's the thing. There's nothing. Your mind isn't there at all. You can't perceive what's there since you are no longer there. And the fact that we all end is, what I feel, the great cosmic horror.

If you want to know what not existing is like, consider this: Hours go by between you dreaming and you waking up. It felt like the dream had just ended when you woke up didn't it? That "void" between you stop dreaming and you waking up is pretty much what nonexistence is like.

Needles. Many biology lessons have ended with me passed out on the floor when something gory is mentioned. Of course, being a halfwit I went to give blood once to try to get over it. Didn't work, I had a panic attack and passed out on the bed and my girlfriend had to look after me for roughly an hour afterwards. Pretty ironic though that I do fencing, which is essentially being repeatedly stabbed with a giant needle.

Swarms of things, particularly insects. It's not so much of a fear, but when you see a bunch of ants swarming over something it just makes my skin crawl so much.

Public speaking.

Fear of failure would be another to a certain extent but not to the point where I would freeze and go into a fetal position about it.

I've participated in an autopsy and have no qualms with decaying flesh and maggots (I had to do some college lab simulations involving the decay of chickens after they'd been maimed in different ways).

However, I absolutely hate deep water/swimming in general. I have no idea why, but it's my greatest fear.
