How many base attacks does the Howling Banshee Exarch have with mirrorswords?

4? or 3?

I would say 4 as this was the case in the old codex (where it was also worded more specifically) so she has 2 base, +1 for 2ccws and +1 for the mirrorswords description on page 65 of the Eldar codex. However, the wording makes it seem like it was only referring to the +1 attack for 2ccws but this cant be true, right?

I mean if purchasing a set of mirrorswords did nothing over the basic shurikenpistol + power sword loadout, but grant her the master-crafted ability (ONE failed to-hit re-roll) at the cost of removing her BS5 shuriken pistol, then this would be ridiculously costly for 10 points, wouldnt it? The Exarch has WS5 and will be hitting things on a 3+ most of the time. Even the Triskele with its 3 S4 AP3 ranged attacks would be a steal for 5 points in comparison.

Did not notice that, but yeah, mirrorswords no longer give an extra attack in addition to the base for two weapons.

Also the old codex said mirrorswords gave +2 attacks instead of 1 for two ccws.

Greebo had spent an irritating two minutes in that box. Technically, a cat locked in a box may be alive or it may be dead. You never know until you look. In fact, the mere act of opening the box will determine the state of the cat, although in this case there were three determinate states the cat could be in: these being Alive, Dead, and Bloody Furious.

That way,then left

I noticed it, and converted my exarch back to having an executioner . Just isn't worth it anymore.

Just like GK Falchions it would seem like they only get +1 attack.

I love it how GW breaks things that worked perfectly with every new codex.

Your assumption is that it's broken. I don't know why you assume that.

Explained in my 1st post.

A regular Banshee Exarch has BS5, WS5, a shuriken pistol and a power sword.

She can upgrade her power sword for a Triskele, essentially losing the pistol's S4 and the bladestorm rule because she wont be firing with it, but gaining two additional shots to her shooting attack, and all of them resolved at AP3 for 5 points

or she can upgrade her power sword to a S5 one, losing 1 attack in the process, for 10 points.

For 10 points losing all ranged capability, and not gaining anything except one failed to-hit re-roll in combat is far worse than last edition's +2 attacks to her base profile.

Yes, it's worse. It's not broken.
