Bloody hell Pyriel! that looks even more amazing than the last helmet! honest dude you need to do everything in your power to get these latest sculpts into production, you have just blown open the level of conversion parts we usually see, the details and ideas are totally brilliant and if i may be so bold, what you've done is take things some of us want to do ourselves or see on our models and you have bought the baroque beauty to life! i've known you for a while now and you still amaze me and I still have to finish by just saying!

THANK YOU! :-) for keeping the dream alive!

That helmet looks soviet, probably the gas mask...

The only way to describe that helmet is "brutal". Very nicely done Pyriel.

Really, nothing? Come on guys!TBH: chapterhouse dosnt seem to have much stuff. I mean everything there is top notch, but there just isnt much there. Im glad you are rectifying this problem with these amazing sculpts. By any chance are you taking suggestions? I don't think so.

I do love that helmet. Actually, CH has come out with a good variety of marine helmets that I've really loved. Don't know if pyriel was responsible for those, but they've been welcome additions to my marine army.

Shoot? No! I talk!
I was just thinking about the kinds of thing I would sculpt/buy/if I had your skill and came up with:
1. A dragon style head - look good with AL and salamander and black dragons.
2. A wolf helmet- not like what GW does, more along the lines of real wolves, would be awesome.
Probably crap ideas but mehh.

Beautiful sculpts! I'd be worried about the green stuff drying before I even got to half that level of detail lol

Well, that´s what I did (previous page) so guess that´s 50% of your ideas done right there

@ Pyriel - First off, that some insane skill you have there. I was wondering though, what exactly do you use as a base and tools to build upon when sculpting? Not that I could ever emulate your own sculpts, but I've always wanted to give it a go.

Oh, and seeing as you seem to be willing to take in potential ideas for sculpts - I'd love to see Chapterhouse do a helmet based along the lines of the cover of 'Scorched Earth'. Whilst I'm in awe of the dragon helm on the last page, I have to say that, IMHO, it's too 'Predator' like for use in a Salamanders army. Hence, my ten-penneth would be to humbly suggest this as a next sculpt:

Awesome work - if these are castable I bet they would sell well to both Chaos marine players & pre-Heresy players.
The terminator armour is also very cool.
Keep up the good work & thanks for sharing your work.

Also I've started taking photos to use as reference for weathering which can be found here. Please send me your photos so they can be found all in one place!!

@Pyriel - Wow, that's it? I was expecting all kinds of sorcery...

Do you build the greenstuff around anything - like a ball bearing or a cured ball of GS? Sincere apologies for pestering you, but I'm curious as to how such superb results can be achieved with GS - like I say, I'm only just getting the hang of sculpting basic capes and icons.

Yup. Just extremely annoying that some arrogant "idiots" think that my sculpts like these should be done in a few hours and that I´m worthless.

Yes I do.
And for capes do use a fine metallic mesh that you shape into a proper form and then add a thin layer of green on, after curing you basically have your cape, just some filling and smoothing to do.
Second hint, never "cut" green while it is still soft, this is the biggest beginner mistake and makes for soft, "melted" edges.

One of the big-collar fronts that I did that goes with that segmented helmet. Was meant to come perforated (the collar) to make it look like a medieval knight visor (full of holes to look out from) but casting made that an impossibility.
Thus it´s a sort of like it or not visuals with an over protective collar but you could always drill small holes in it or file it down if you dont like it.
That is IF it goes into sales, I still havent decided on that one.

That one is AWESOME!

I love all of the 'high collar' looking models.

MK8 "Errant" Power Armor is my all time favorite mark, and I'd seriously build an entire army with it if GW and/or FW would just finally release a proper full version of it...

PLEASE tell me that one's going on sale soon?

Please?
