If it goes into the CHS store, that is Pyriels call.

He is upset and even debating on trying to sabotage Chapterhouse Studios case against Games Workshop.

So saying that, Pyriel can choose to work and get paid for his work for Chapterhouse Studios. But what he does with his projects, where he decides he wants to sell them to, that is his decision.

Ill let him tell you what he decides to do with the pieces he has shown on this thread. (He never showed Chapterhouse any of these pieces or works in progress, we had to see them here first).

I just found out about these sculpts 3 days ago. I have no email updates on what he has worked on for almost 2 months. No new sculpts mailed in. So in a nutshell when I emailed him about this lack of shown work and the fact that in order to be paid monthly he needed to do work for the pay, well he didnt take that well. So I have had no emails from him and now a Chapterhouse Studios customer notified me that there is good evidence that Pyriel is considering trying to harm the case for Chapterhouse.

Yeah, shocker for us here as well.

Hmmm... So games workshop is filing a lawsuite against you? I have not heard of this, although granted I hadn't even heard of chapter house before this thread (fantastic website by the way) anywho, I assume GWs lawsuit is based on you using things like "space marine compatible"?

Its a 5 year case, and the original trial finished in June 2013. We are appealing the results now.

And yeah... they dont like that wording among other things. There is a huge thread in Dakka Discussion you can read if you want to catch up.

2:01 in the morning and I'm going to go read a thread about how a money-whore company( AKA: games workshop) is accusing, or rather, getting angry at, a (seemingly) very nice company ( you guys) for using the names of (to quote my mother "plastic warhammers" )
Now 2:05. Sigh. @ GW:
Also, link to discussion? Can't find it.
Edit. Bracket.

I see gamesworkshops point on this, if you build a product and make a living on it, then someone makes a product to replace or use with yours limiting your market and growth capability. I would be really annoyed and sue aswell. If you make your own plastic men that can be used in their game because they have some guns/swords and same scale then so be it. But making a add on to a product you have no licence to produce is pretty low.

It would be kinda link someone making an expansion for left for dead and selling it with out giving any money to the original game producers

You should read the thread and get some insight before jumping to conclusions. Do car companies sell body kit companies because the add on fits the car? How about Cell Phone companies suing companies that make cases and dont need a license to say they fit on the specific phone.

It is called free market. If how you think the market should worked did, there would only ever be one car company Ford, making cars since other companies made a replacement for his idea. Or Games Workshop maing goblin figures in the old days that could be used instead of TSRs goblin figures in their D&D game.

And gaming code is copyrighted property. You cant own the idea of something only the hard copy interpretation of it.

Bad analogy, because cars do not have licence on their parts, just the designs. A better analogy would be can ford buy a chev put 4 new doors on it and sell it as their product? Using an existing product and changing it to make money is against the law of copyright and licensing. I get the fact you guys sculpt "which is yours" but using an existing product to build it on and selling it is breaking copyrights. Kinda like sculpting a yui-gi-oh monster then selling it, you may have sculpted it but using their model and ideas break the ip.

btw cars company's manufacture parts for their cars but the ip and such is public "they do not own the ip or design for a spark plug"

So... Yeah - I'm just going to skip over the last few comments. IMHO, SlaveToDorkness is right. There is a time and a place to air info like that, and regardless of my opinion on the matter (Which I'm not going to comment on) - it's not in this here personal thread.

@Pyriel -

Pyriel wrote:Yup. Just extremely annoying that some arrogant "idiots" think that my sculpts like these should be done in a few hours and that I´m worthless.

I sincerely hope that's not how my comment came across - total opposite in fact. However, if it is perchance related to the above comments, then once again - not my business to comment. Bottom line, IMO, the sculpts are epic - keep them coming

Pyriel wrote:Yes I do.
And for capes do use a fine metallic mesh that you shape into a proper form and then add a thin layer of green on, after curing you basically have your cape, just some filling and smoothing to do.
Second hint, never "cut" green while it is still soft, this is the biggest beginner mistake and makes for soft, "melted" edges.

Good to know. I usually, just roll out a flat piece of GS, cut into a desired shape and go from there, but the mesh idea is very interesting. I presume it's just from a craft/hobby shop?

Well, duh. I can see your point. It's difficult enough to keep an enterprise running, even without GW on your back. So a good measure of information is vital to know when to advertise, order moulds or whatnot. On the other hand Pyriel shows stuff here that most of us wouldn't even manage in a year's time so anyone is kindly invited to work faster than that and deliver by the month instead of setting deadlines. Which is no excuse to slow down the flow of information. So figure it out please, for your sake, the community and for the greater good of screwing GW over.

I think its safe to say Pyriel is likely not to be working with Chapterhouse Studios, as his actions have become openly "hostile". I just wanted to clarify that these items will not be in the CHS store for those who are asking.

Thats all I wanted to clarify on.

The "actual place to air this" would be in private with the parties, and only the parties, involved.
